Rumors have swirled for several days about the tour's fate, escalated by an MSNBC report that West would be seeking treatment for alcohol abuse.
The tour cancellation, confirmed to the Free Press today by promoter Live Nation, is the latest twist in a rocky autumn for West. The Chicago rapper made headlines last month when he interrupted an acceptance speech by teen star Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The Fame Kills tour was scheduled to kick off Nov. 10 in Phoenix. Talk of the tour's demise had heated up this week, amid Internet reports that Lady Gaga would be pulling out and select ticket prices being scaled back.

GaGa wasn't going to pull out. She was on radio talking about it just the other day.
The tour was always going to be a draw after the VMA fiasco. Kanye is the worlds biggest moron twat atm, even i would have second guessed seeing this tour, even if it meant to not seeing GaGa.
Either that, or.....GaGa's Dad died. He had open heart surgery last night, maybe it went bad???
GaGa don't need Kanye anyway, her shows have been selling out WW for nearly 2 years. So glad she's headlining on her own here next year.

And not only that -- our insiders say another factor in the cancellation was West and Gaga's people were at each others throats like their last names were Gosselin.
When it came down do it, we're told Gaga decided she'd be better off playing smaller venues ... and far from the headache caused by Kanye's ever present drama.
