Title: Cheryl Cole - 3 Words

KOS - April 15, 2009 08:28 PM (GMT)
Cheryl Cole has reportedly started working on an R&B-inspired solo album.

The Girls Aloud singer, who previously collaborated with will.i.am on 'Heartbreaker', is said to be eager to record music more similar to her own tastes.

"The solo stuff Cheryl's been working on is R&B-based, as that's her favourite kind of music," a source told Heat.

"Her influences are artists like Beyoncé and Mary J. Blige, so she wants to keep that soulful vibe."

Earlier this year, the star fuelled speculation that she wanted to launch a career in the US after holding talks with Simon Cowell and executives.

Cole is currently rehearing with her Girls Aloud bandmates for their upcoming tour, which kicks off in Manchester on April 24.

It's obvious to anyone that's followed Cheryl that she is a massive fan of R&B and soul. But whether she can become a successful R&B/Soul artist herself is a whole separate issue!

I Am... Michael Fierce - April 15, 2009 08:51 PM (GMT)
R'n'B can be anything these days can't it!

I know this album will denied but she's OBVIOUSLY working on one! Why wouldn't she!

Naaman - April 15, 2009 08:56 PM (GMT)
If she is doing one, I do trust her with what she's gonna come out with. I might be being abit optimistic but she's always struck me as a really big music fan who knows a good tune when she hears one and is into different types of stuff.

KOS - April 16, 2009 06:33 AM (GMT)
I see it being a moderate hit, but shit... kinda like Alesha Dixon!

Cruise - April 16, 2009 09:47 AM (GMT)
Hmmmmm....I don't like this but whatev.

Youngster - April 16, 2009 12:20 PM (GMT)
I'd be all over a Chezza album!

I Am... Michael Fierce - April 16, 2009 08:42 PM (GMT)
Cheryl doing 'Gimme More'!

Naaman - April 16, 2009 08:45 PM (GMT)
"GIVE US MORE, LIKE!!"

I Am... Michael Fierce - April 16, 2009 09:15 PM (GMT)
Gutted she never did it on tour like she was supposed to!

Karen - April 20, 2009 06:21 AM (GMT)
She's not..... actually..... all that great a singer, though..... is she? Definitely the worst out of GA.

I Am... Michael Fierce - April 20, 2009 06:27 AM (GMT)
Better than Kimberley and Sarah.

Karen - April 21, 2009 01:33 AM (GMT)
Oh, surely not! Sarah has quite a loud voice and that series "The passions of Girls Aloud" showed that Kimberley can REALLY sing when she gets a chance!

I Am... Michael Fierce - April 21, 2009 09:04 AM (GMT)
It's worked all right for Britney...

Karen - April 21, 2009 09:23 PM (GMT)
Arrange these words in a suitable order: "off" and "f@ck" :manson:

I Am... Michael Fierce - April 21, 2009 10:30 PM (GMT)
What's the problem?

Karen - April 22, 2009 06:51 AM (GMT)
Britney is loved by millions BECAUSE of her unique singing style and talents. Cheryl is loved by millions DESPITE her singing style and talents.

I Am... Michael Fierce - April 22, 2009 04:51 PM (GMT)

OK hun. Being unable to sing live counts for so much these days with Britney fans.

Karen - April 23, 2009 04:27 AM (GMT)
You think hundreds of thousands of fans would keep coming back year after year to hear Cheryl singing live?

The point of Britney's tour is that people who love her can be in her presence and share in her happiness. They don't give a stuff if she sings live or not!

Confirmed!

Cheryl Cole to record solo songs

X Factor judge Cheryl Cole is to begin working on solo material, a spokesman for Girls Aloud has confirmed.

He said that it was too early to say who the 25-year-old would be working with but that a number of different producers had been approached.

He said the group would "take time out" this year to work on solo projects from "music to acting to beauty to fashion".

Earlier this year, Girls Aloud signed a new record deal promising three more albums, including one in autumn 2010.

Claim

"Cheryl is going to work on some solo music - there is no release date set for this yet as she has not recorded any music," the spokesman said.

"Her A&R people have approached various producers with the view to working with her.

"Until she has recorded music, we can't say who will be working on the record as we can't say at this stage what will make it past the idea stage," he added.

Meanwhile, rising electro-pop star FrankMusik has claimed on micro-blogging site Twitter: "I am producing Cheryl Cole's solo album."

Cole's profile has been raised following her successful stint as a judge on ITV1 talent show The X Factor.

On Thursday, it was announced that she had been named the world's sexiest woman by readers of FHM magazine.

Girls Aloud were created through ITV talent show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 and have become one of the most successful British pop groups of the decade, notching up 20 consecutive top 10 singles.

Cole's bandmate Sarah Harding is to make her acting debut in forthcoming BBC Two drama Freefall, starring alongside Mamma Mia actor Dominic Cooper.

Emma - April 26, 2009 08:12 PM (GMT)
LOVE YOU CHEZ.

Karen - April 27, 2009 04:39 AM (GMT)
Sarah's becoming an actress!

But this is how bands break up, isn't it? Oh well, bring on the GA Comeback Tour 2014!

LADIES and gentleman, take your seats and prepare for take off . . . of CHERYL COLE'S solo career as the British BRITNEY SPEARS.
I can finally unveil the top secret plans that will turn the Girls Aloud singer and X Factor judge into a megastar.

Cheryl has hired the hit machine behind one of Britney's biggest tracks, Toxic - where the US star dressed as an air hostess in the video.

My art wizards have mocked up how Cheryl might look in a similar outfit as she prepares for a high-flying solo spell.

But it means her blossoming TV career is likely to take a backseat.

Cheryl, 26, will jet to Sweden and America this month to put the finishing touches to her first single.

It will be released in October - months before anyone expected - and quickly followed by a solo album.

That means she will beat band mate NADINE COYLE, who had hoped to be the first member of Girls Aloud to go it alone.

Fellow X Factor judge SIMON COWELL has agreed to let Cheryl launch her chart-topping bid with a performance on the new series of the ITV talent show.

That starts a whirlwind year for Cheryl. She's due to collaborate with Swedish Grammy award-winning production duo Bloodshy and Avant, who worked on Britney's hit Toxic and latest single Radar.

Then it's on to LA where she'll team up with will.i.am, who was Michael Jackson's last producer. Cheryl has already worked with the Black Eyed Peas star on the hit Heartbreaker.

After going solo for six months, she'll return to Girls Aloud next year to record their sixth album.

Then friends reckon she'll take some time out to start a family with footballer hubby ASHLEY COLE.

A pal said: "She wants to be a pop star, not a TV star. She's only committed to X Factor this year and doesn't know if she'll have time to do another one.

"Her music is very different to Girls Aloud. It's pop with an urban twist and the first single is incredible. There's millions being pumped into the promotion, recording, photo shoots and music videos. The plan is to make her as huge as Britney and MADONNA."

XS SAYS: I'M backing Cheryl's bid to become Britain's biggest pop starlet. She's got the looks, charisma and, from what I'm hearing, the sound to challenge Britney as Princess of Pop.

Naaman - July 5, 2009 04:49 PM (GMT)
Lol at the pic!

It's great she's already got a guaranteed spot on the X Factor, it will no doubt help the single do well. I look forward to hearing her music!

Youngster - July 5, 2009 05:44 PM (GMT)
Lmao @ the pic.

Should be good though, I'm looking forward to it.

I Am... Michael Fierce - July 5, 2009 06:31 PM (GMT)
Yeah I'm really looking forward to this. Can't wait to see her out there on her own performing. Hopefully the tracks will be AS GOOD AS!

Could be a fake account though.

Cheryl Cole should have lots of sympathy for the next batch of X Factor wannabes - she's about to face the judges herself.

Simon Cowell is giving Cheryl the chance to showcase her debut solo single on the hit ITV talent contest.

The 26-year-old is still in talks with show bosses about her first public performance without the rest of Girls Aloud. But her advisers think she should go for it.

And if she's put off by fears of facing the wrath (and sniping) of the judging panel she can rest easy. Simon, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue all support her venture.

Cheryl's friends say she is excited but nervous about the prospect of singing in front of the team and a live studio audience - even though that's exactly how she won her place in Girls Aloud.

A source tells us: "It is a no-brainer for Cheryl to launch her solo career on the show. When she told Simon her album was due out next month, he said she must do the show.

"Girls Aloud performed last year when their single Promise was in the charts. But this will be a totally different experience for Cheryl - she won't have the others for support.

"She is nervous because she will be performing for her peers - and there is always the fear that Simon may say something catty.

"But so far he has been nothing but supportive. Cheryl can do no wrong in his eyes and he wouldn't want to humiliate her.

"It's a safe environment for her debut and they will want her to look outstanding."

Cheryl herself has said: "I understand how the contestants are feeling - especially when they're singing in front of us. And this year in front of an audience of 2,000!"

Her winning act from last year's contest, 20-year-old Alexandra Burke, will also be performing on one of the shows.

Ironically, Alex and her former mentor will also be going head to head in the charts - both have albums due out in the same month.

An industry insider tells us: "It will be interesting to see who gets the most viewers. This has never happened before so it'll be strange seeing them going head to head.

"They aren't keen on competing. They want each other to do well."

So, no added pressure there then, Chezza.

Obvious she was going to get a performing slot. Shouldn't be to hard for her. Mime the chorus and do the verses.

Naaman - August 21, 2009 11:08 PM (GMT)
I'm so CURIOUS about what the album will be like!!

Oh come on KOS. You live for shit music.

Naaman - August 22, 2009 11:36 AM (GMT)
It better not be shit, but it's weird how we've not really had any concrete news about what the music will be like and track names etc (as far as I know)

I Am... Michael Fierce - August 22, 2009 11:48 AM (GMT)
It's just because she's not a twitter whore.

The thing is Cheryl is so critical of when things are shit I don't think she'd allow something awful to be actually put out there.

What producers do we know?
Bloodhsy & Avant
Will.I.Am
Soulshock

Gonna be a few hits in there innit

Naaman - August 22, 2009 11:50 AM (GMT)
Yeah and I love her taste in music, I'm sure that if she was gonna put herself out there she will know it has to be at a certain level because she herself knows what's good and what's not.

While we wait with bated breath for Cheryl Cole's first solo album, I spoke to a music insider this week who's already had a sneak peek. He told me: "Everyone's been saying her stuff is r'n'b based with a lot of hip hop but that's rubbish. It's a pop album. Cheryl's stuck to her roots." I can't wait to hear it!

Naaman - September 2, 2009 09:17 AM (GMT)
Apparently she's shooting the video for the first single this weekend!
