EFFECTIVE 1st JULY 2008.


The amount of abuse, agressive comments and unnecessary arguments must rapidly decrease. If this forum is to remain open it must be what it was created to be; a happy/friendly music and general entertainment community. New members wont join if the first thing they see is hatrid and arguments.

From the 1st July each member will start a clean slate. We will run a 3 strike system used with the warning system (so everybody will start at 0). 3 strikes and youre out. Simple as that. No sexual orientated abuse. No racial abuse. No attacking people. If you have an issue there are 3 Administrators who can help resolve issues, Steve, Naaman & myself.

Irrelevant. If the comments about somebody elses sexuality make other members uncomfortable - regardless of their own sexuality and even if the topic is not about them - then it must stop. The occassional comment in a blatant humourous way is acceptable. Other comments are not.

I find it offensive seeing it so often, and I understand generally most of you guys do it in humour but sometimes it gets a bit carried away. And others see it as a trend and use it as a bitchy way to dig at her ie. all of the Karen threads about her sexuality lately. She might be happy to answer all of our questions, but maybe it would be better to PM her if anyone has a genuine question.

I frankly will be glad to see this in place because I'm sick of certain lesser known members digging up stuff that is in the past and using it as ammunition against other members. And they wonder why it continues when they can't let it go themselves.

an individuals sexuality is their own individual business. It is not the concern of an entire forum and multiple topics.

I personally don't mind a few jocular comments about my sexuality, but I don't think it's a good thing for the forum if it looks as if there's a dislike of lesbians in general. What annoys me more is the constant accusations of people being mentally ill just because they hold opinions you don't agree with. There again, a few jocular comments about the saneness of my opinions don't upset me personally, but people CAN get upset when it just goes ON and ON.

I'm pretty sure that when I was here before, and Musli says this too, the atmosphere in each of the artist forums was a lot more respectful towards the artists - which is as it should be since these are the places where genuine fans would want to go to celebrate their favorite artists. If there's nothing but snidery, abuse, bashing and hating.... well, it may be a lot of fun for certain bitchy individuals but it doesn't make for a very welcoming forum and one recent member here has commented to me about how aggressive and mean some of the other members here can be.

Oh I'll miss the banter here, a lot of things are said tounge in cheek and I hope the system will account for that. If the person at the end of the "attack" can laugh it off then I don't think it should count.

And fans are welcome here, but this isn't an exclusive Britney or Xtina forum, it's a pop music forum, and we talk about what we like and don't like about music and the artist. If you're looking for FANDOM, join a proper forum delegated to that specific singer, if you don't want to, then you'll just have to deal with the fact that people have different opinions to you AND that they may have a different STYLE of delivering those opinions than YOU do. Doesn't mean they aren't welcome or don't have the right to their say, as you are so desperately trying to do.

I know but the way it's set up doesn't seem like it, the focus on other artists is pretty big, and not EVERYONE here is a die hard Britney fan. You know what i mean. Ir doesn't FEEL like an exclusive Britney forum, she;s not even the ONLY person in the banner.

It was originally a Britney only forum however it has changed since it was opened and is more open to other artists. Yes tongue in cheek comments will be ignored and its not going to be 'nazi' style, however when people are throwing around comments like "mentally ill" or "dyke" arent very pleasant, and I find certain comments offensive. I am sure I am not alone.

That's fine, if people are offended i'm sure everyone will get in line and do what's asked.

I just don't like overly touchy people telling me what i can and can't say about celebrities. I'm not here to cater to fans who can't handle my sense of humor or criticisms, it would be a real shame to see this place start silencing people for what they think based around famous people, that's a bit extreme and kinda pathetic. That's more my issue with all this, but you yourself haven't addressed that, only Karen has, so this is more to her.
But whatever, she won't care to agree on that, and that's her choice, but i'm not backing down and becoming someone that fits HER mold of how i should and shouldn't be around here, she's not the only person here and i don't have to cater to her needs in regards to Britney Spears, that's just ridiculous.

If somebody has an opinion on a celebrity thats fine and theyre more than welcome to voice it. If somebody else doenst agree then again they are also welcome to express that. its when it gets to the point where people are taking their opinions beyond that of a celebrity status and making things personal. Thats when the issues arise. Say what you like about a celebtiy just as long as its not leading into a personal attack. :)

But slagging Britney and her HORRIFICNESS off is offensive to Karen. What happens there? :)

Ive answered that already in my reply above. Tone down the language, its fine to voice your opinions and that goes to everybody, where it stops being fine is when its full of swear words which cause agrovation.

I don't mind some banter - God knows, I've been on the end of plenty of it and I'm still here. I don't mind tongue-in-cheek comments so long as it isn't an incessant hailstorm of ridiculous abuse. For example, Anthony seems to think every normal-sized girl is pregnant. Cubby seems to think he has seen a human being who looks exactly like a bushpig. And both of them have the nerve to call ME deluded.

It's also quite funny to have Anthony criticize me for being biased in favor of Britney - in the Britney sub-forum! You DO tend to get people biased in favor of artists in their own forums or sub-forums. They're called fans.

I really can't see what good it does to go into an artist's forum or sub-forum just to make ridiculous, sneery, bitchy remarks EVERY DAY, even when it's clearly not appropriate or deserved. Why would anyone want to do that? Who does it help? What is the benefit? I used to think the lamebrains at Popdirt who added their vicious, spiteful comments to every single topic about Britney were among the saddest, most pointless people on Earth. And now we have their clones here.

About your concept of being a fan means you have to be biased... Well, it's definitely YOUR concept. I however think that being a LOON and being BIASED are too very different things.
