Well i dunno if u'all know but there has been a ruling change!

MST doesnt Negate cards like Mirror Force or Change Of Heart. It can be played (as quick play) against a continuous card (IO, SORL, Mirage of Nightmare ect)

Situation:

Player A: ahs a MST FD on the field
PLayer B: PLays SORL
Player A: flips MST and negates SORL

WRONG SITUATION:

Player A: has MST FD
PLayer B plays a Rod, Change of heart ect
Player A: flips MSt but its wrong so Player A discards MST to the Graeyard....

This makes me quite mad. the good thing is that it can be CHAINED to IO's Actiation and destory IO.. thats bout the best thing bout it! lol

Okay.... *Sigh* here we go again....There waz never a rule change about MST....everyone just played it wrong!
Now....here we go...

Mystical Space Typoon NEVER in any case negates a card...MST ONLY Destroys :)

OK ill give some good situations in which MST Can and cannot be played

Player A: Has Gemini Elf and a MST Face down on the field
Player B's Turn: Uses the Spell Card "Snatch Steal" to take control of player A's Gemini Elf.

NOW Because Snatch Steal remains on the field( because its and equip card) as soon as Player B take control of the Gemini Elf.. Player A may then Activate MST (only if MST waz on the field) because MST is a quick Play Spell/magic Card..which means it is a Spell Speed 3 (i believe, May be spell speed 2) and MST may be activated in almost ANY Phase of yours/ur opponents turn...

Now when MST is activated to DESTROY Snatch Steal the monster is returned ONLY because Snatch Steal is the card that was keeping control of it. MST never negated Snatch Steal it only destroyed it in which meant that it ended the effect of that card.

There is also one more factor about Quick-Play Spell/Magic cards....They MAY be played from the controllers hand ONLY if it is the controllers turn.

Now here is a situation in which the MST is preformed INCORRECTLY

Player A: Has Gemini Elf on the field and an MST in his/her hand and its his/her turn
Player B: has a Face Down Mirror Force and Time Wizard
Player A's Gemini Elf Attacks Player B's Time Wizard.
Player B activates his Mirror Force to destroy all Player A's Attack Position Monsters.
Player A decides to Discard a MST from his/her hand in order to stop the Mirror Force.

NOW This is Perfectly Legal....an MST may be activated to DESTROY the Mirror Force, BUT thats only what it does...Mirror Force is then destroyed but the effect still goes through meaning Player A's Gemini would still be destroyed because MST NEVER Negates a card.

Further more, can or can't I chain MST from my hand? I'm pretty sure I can't, and it must be set on the field, but other's I duel with have doubts.

Saturnine- Yes you can chain it from your hand ONLY if it is your turn....If its your opponents turn you must have it on the field :)
