Woodland Sprite+Archfiend of Gilfer= Pure Evil
Before Shonen Jump gave away such a jewel(Archfiend of Gilfer), I believed that Woodland Sprite and Butterfly Dagger-Elma was the most ruthless combo, until I read the true meaning of both cards...
Woodland Sprite (Earth)

LOD-061
[Plant/Effect]
Send an Equip Magic Card equipped to this monster to the graveyard to inflict 500 points of Direct Damage per Equip Magic Card to your opponent's lifepoints.

A monster equipped with this card increases its ATK by 300 points. When this card is destroyed and sent to the graveyard while equipped to a monster, this card is returned to the owner's hand.
(For those who don't know, Spell cards and Magic cards are the same thing, they just changed it when they released Magician's Force, don't know why though but Spell sounds cooler :) )So as you can see, Woodland and Elma combo cannot work. But Woodland and Gilfer can:

When this card is sent to the Graveyard, you can activate its effect. You can then equip it to a monster on the field, and this card will be treated as an Equip Spell Card that decreases the ATK of the equipped monster by 500 points.

ATK/2200 DEF/2500
Note hoW Woodland needs to send an equip spell card and Archfiend says it needs to be sent to the graveyard to come back. Oh and I've forgot to mention you need to fluss Gilfer into the Graveyard somehow(Graceful Charity never let anybody down ^_^ ). But once you do manage to get Archfiend of Gilfer into the Graveyard, your opponent might as well forfeight(I think that's how it's spelled) cuz he/she's gonna lose anyway no matter how many kuribohs or Barrel Behind the Door they've got.

Actually, i wuz just in a tourney with both Gilfer and W. Sprite in my deck, when, before the duel, someone told me that this combo is not possible. He had a thick New York Accent, so I didn't really catch whit doesn't work, but he sed something about the way the effects in the combo resolve. Anyway, everyone in the room agreed.
<_< darn, and it wuz the best (and most evil >:( ) combo i ever heard of.
Flaming_dragon_8468 - February 26, 2005 03:00 AM (GMT)
theres no way... its perfect.... it works! they didnt know what they were talkin about... the effects dont resolve any weird way at all... unless................ unless they were right..... because i once heard that if something else happend after an effect.... and another effect of a card should resolve.... then it doesnt because the other cards.......................... sorta confusing so ill explain with this combo...
lets say that you have AG attached to your WS right now (i dont feel like typing their names) .... then u activate the effect and send AG to the graveyard.... you would think he would come back, BUT since you do 500 damage to your opponent's lifepoints by WS's effect first, it doesnt because AG's effect dissapeares.... do you get what i'm saying!? lol... its difficult but since WS's effect activated first, and does more after sending AG to the graveyard, AG's effect wouldnt work afterward....
I have edited this post just to let everyone know that this wont work because Archfiend of Gilfer's effect is optional. Like i said before, it wont work because the 500 damage happens BEFORE you are able to activate Gilfer's effect. So you dont get to use it at all... Stupid ruling in my opinion.
