Welcome to Movie Portraits You will notice that each moive has it's own respected board. Feel free to post ANYTHING about that movie there. For example, wan to chat about that snake part in Cos? Make a thread about it! Want to know if anyone freaked out when you saw Voldermorth in Sorcerer's Stone? Make a thread about it!

The first two movies were the best in years!!!! they really outdid themselves, although the movies were different, and a little jumbled up, they put sertain parts in before they were supposed to happen, but they can't be purfect. I find the books alot better than the movies though. I takes longer to read the story than to watch it, so you get to savor the good reading, and really get a good intake of the detail, and exiting happenings!

I completly agree with you. the books are way better than the movies, they left out a lot of details and such that was essential to the plot.

I thought these 2 movies were pretty good. I remember when I saw the first one, the part when Voldermorth killed Lily. I really widening my eyes, cuz I did't expect to actually see it at all.

flounder21 - March 17, 2005 09:49 PM (GMT)
i really liked the 1st 2 movies but they did leave out a lot of things like peeves and other stuff which i think is not fair. <_<

HPfanatic - March 19, 2005 05:22 AM (GMT)
I hope they put peeves into one of the movies. Those little details are the reasons I love to read stories rather than watch them. But don't get me wrong I like the movies too.

mwiley - March 27, 2005 06:20 PM (GMT)
Yeah peeves, is cool, in a weird kind of way, he's fun. It give the books something extra, something other than the point of whatever harry, hermione, and ron are doing at the moment. Don't get me wrong, but in the movies, its all about them, they leave out some of the good stuff.

HPfanatic - March 27, 2005 08:48 PM (GMT)
*nods is agreement* yup

mwiley - March 30, 2005 07:06 PM (GMT)
They didn't add in peeves, and they mixed up some of the parts, but they always do the movies a little different from the books. Same thing with the games, we have one, and at the end of the game, when you kill the basilisk, the tooth flys out of his mouth, and hits the book, killing tom riddle (aka voldemort), nothing in the games, is the same as the book, most of it anyway, is just stuff they make up, and put in.

Even though they did miss out a lot the first two, i really liked them more then the 3rd one, the director was perfect, i didn't like the new director at all, and sorry that he's carrying on for the 4th one

Luna - April 10, 2005 01:41 PM (GMT)
Yeah, i don't like the director for the 3rd movie either. he totasly butchered the story, and didn't even make the kids do their best etc. But, umm i may just be crazy (and i prolly am), but didn't they get a different director for the 4th one?

BarbieGirl - April 12, 2005 12:48 AM (GMT)
Yeah, they do have a new director for the 4th one.

HPfanatic - April 26, 2005 03:06 AM (GMT)
ya i get that sometimes. lol :D that's really too bad, but when you look at the movie from their point of view it doesn't make sence.

flounder21 - April 29, 2005 08:15 PM (GMT)

yeah - same here, but like the movie makers said
" if we have followed the book - the movie would be like 10hrs more large! & thats not possible  " on other way - that would be so awesome!
& then people wouldnt like to read the book ( like some friends of mine  )
lol

LoL, yeah it would take forever to watch if they did everything from the books. But you know what- I wouldnt mind watching it for ages if they just included everything in it. :D

Jasonlw - May 28, 2005 02:13 PM (GMT)
Yes, it would take forever, but would you like to watch a movie about a book but the movie is not about the book?????????

Luna - May 28, 2005 04:02 PM (GMT)
oh well. i don't think they need to make it take forever. the first movie was supposed to be 4 hours long, and it was like 2! so they cut it in half and that was fine! i just think this guy idn't very good at cutting scripts (not literaly) i sure hope the 4th is better than the 3rd. but from the trailer it doesn't look it!

lilly potter - June 9, 2005 04:34 PM (GMT)
i liked the first 2 movies but i would have liked it if it had gone a little bit longer than it did. :wizard: :)

mwiley - September 18, 2005 11:53 PM (GMT)
Yeah, maybe if they would have made it long they would have made a few less mistakes and hopefully they would have put in peeves. I hope that the fourth movie is a lot better than the third!

marywyman - August 3, 2006 05:26 PM (GMT)
I really liked the first two movies, they really got the whole idea of the books. They stayed pretty much with the way the books decribed and the story. The third and fourth movies changed a lot of what was is the books, and the third movie changed what was in the 1st two movies, by moving Hagrids' hut. The fourth movie put too much different stuff in the movie, like Neville telling Harry about the gilly weed. Don't get me wrong, I still loved the movies, I just wish they would stay with the way the story goes and not change it. I liked all of the movies so much I have seen them several times each.
