I rented the OotP PS2 game yesterday, thinking it would be kind of cool and fun. Well, I was disappointed. It's not nearly as good as I thought it would be. It's confusing, you jump from one scene to the next (so if you haven't read the book you'll probably get very lost), the controls suck, and it's just plain boring.

I would prefer it if they made it so you can control the camera.. I hate it when you're running and turn a corner and the camera doesn't follow fast enough, or if you need to see something behind you but can't 'cause the camera only faces forwards. They also should've added some Quidditch. I finished the game in less than 2 days.. ok, I played for about 6 hours straight last night, but still. (Why did I play for so long even though it's not a good game? 'Cause I was so freaking bored!)

The side missions are an absolute pain, and the Maruaders Map leaves much to be desired. However, I do have two good points:
They used the actors' actual voices, which makes it just that little bit better.
And, the graphics aren't too bad. They actually have the characters looking like their actor counterparts, and they've added quite a bit of detail to the buildings.

So, what do you think about the game?

I have never played the 4th video game, so this will be comparing it to the 3rd which I absolutely loved.

I felt that the 5th skipped so much, and I never really felt like I was in control, I felt like I was on a timer and it would just push me through things. I did like how they had the newspaper as a transition, that was cool.

I actually found the voices sort of annoying. It took me forever to get past the Luna level with the hill and rolling the ball thing up it to feed the threstals. I wanted to tell Luna to shut up so badly because she was constantly "Dont forget to feed the threstrals Harry" and eventually I got so annoyed I began to hex her! lol..i did like the fact that you could cast the spells and hex people.

I missed quidtich. I was not impressed with the ending, you didnt get to fight at all and instead it was all the computer taking you through it.

*Shrugs* So thats my opinion of it. I actually thought Harry looked kind of funny and oh, I missed not being able to swtich from Harry to Ron to Hermionie.

Its the first Harry Potter video game that ive played but i didnt really like it. I found the controls annoying as well and most of the missons were to easy and the side thingys were such a pain.

The way the left so much out and jumped from scene to scene really annoyed me as well. I felt the characters also didn't look all that good Harry mainly. :(

Howeveri did like the detail in the buildings and the gargoyles were pretty cool. lol.

Overall i wish i hadn't wasted my money on it, renting would of been better.
But thats just my opinion and my sister actually enjoyed it i think. So yeah. ::shrugs::

I have to agree that the PoA game was good. I loved flying around as an owl :P I also found the tasks very easy. The Thestral thing was easy, Emma :P You just had to use Wingardium Leviosa.

No! I found that thestral thing to be the most annoying thing on earth, mainly because my game broke down right before that somehow and I didnt hear what I was supposed to do so I kind of just walked around, not knowing what to do till the end when I figured it out! and I enjoyed hexing Luna to much so it kind of took me longer. I found the challenge when you had to blast Unbridge's speakers or whatever they were annoying because you had to listen to her voice everytime. but i thought the classes were cool.

You do realise you could've just walked up to Luna and pressed the 'square' button right? That's if you were using a PlayStation, of course.. not sure about the X-box.
Her voice did get annoying, but I was curious to hear her scrambled comments.

I hated that Fred and George part where they were setting off fireworks at the end! I kept on hitting the stupid stairs! The portable swamp challenges were kind of cool though

I thought that it was good. I do agree with you all in some ways. I don't think it was horrible though. I just think it could've been better. I can't wait for the 6th one but that's not until November.

I thought it was ok but i liked the 3rd and 4th better... this one looked cheezy to me...

I don't think I've played the 4th one... oh well, I might go rent it today.

Ya I liked them all haha. Ya Sardine you should go rent it. It's fun. I've beat them al though, except the 5th. I'm at the part after the ministry of magic, and at hogwarts. Not really sure what to do. ANyone have any hints/cheats?

Yeah im stuck there too... lol I like the 5th one just not as much...

Ya. I wish they'd at least tell you what to do. I mean come on, how are we supposed to know? We aren't physic or anything lol.

Ya I know. I wish they had hints or somehting like that. It's just so annoying, lol. If I figure out anything about what to do next. Then I'll say here.

Once you beat Voldie at the MoM, you're supposed to help Luna find all of her belongings back at Hogwarts, and then I'm pretty sure that's it. Then you just wander around Hogwarts and try to get 100% discovery in all the rooms. :)

I got bored and took the game back when they said I had to find Luna's stuff. Blegh. Hopefully the HBP game will be cool, but, as with the movie, my hopes aren't high.
