Title: Human Nature

doratheauror - June 19, 2008 02:46 AM (GMT)
Melie was sitting down on a "dance floor" that Liam had created on one of their dates just leaning back on her hands staring up at the clouds in the sky, tapping her foot to Katy Perry playing on her iPod. She was in an odd mood. She wasn't herself. Something was off and she wasn't sure what it was. She missed her friends, she missed being around them and hanging out and having fun. Everything had become so serious lately, and Melie wasn't a serious person so it made her seem out of sorts, and she hadn't been able to set it right in a long time.
Melie laid back on the slab of shiny rock and continued to stare at the sky, watching as the sun started to set, making the sky a cornucopia of pinks and reds and peaches. Melie just let out a sigh and sang along to the song, I kissed a girl, wondering what was going on with all of her friends.

OOC: i love that song mel

Sabrina had her metallic purple ipod, it might have been a present fro Chase, but she just couldn';t remember...she didin';t want to remember anything. She walked on the grounds, passing trees, and happy birds...she seemed out of place in this happy world of people...their espressions pained her when she saw them.

She wondered why she had been exluded recently...why so many people were mad at her... awhy khai hadn't spoke to her...why henry was always so ram bunctious lately that it anoyed her to eve look at him sometimes...and why she seemed to different...

She was the daughter of two ex-aurors...one of them was a tycoon as well, and still is...and she had no siblings younger or older... her parents were fairly young as well. She knew not why she felt out of place in all the cheeriness that surrounded and filled Hogwarts, but she saw Melie and she wondered if melie had been thinking the same thnig. Sabrina hummed a few bars to Hero/HEroine..the soothing sound of Boyslikegirls played in her head as she sat down and leaned back on a similar rock.

She wished she could get lost in the clouds forever...

ladeeknight - June 19, 2008 04:02 AM (GMT)
Scarlett wandered the grounds aimlessly. It was a good evening for it. She had begun to notice things lately and her outlook on life was changing. She could feel that a gulf was springing up because of it. She had already had it out with Dream and believed that there friendship was stronger for it.

Scarlett almost fell into the depression that housed the dance floor her head was so far into the clouds. She caught herself just before she stumbled over Melie. "Oh i didn't see you there. Sorry." It felt to Scarlett as though she was talking to a stranger.

doratheauror - June 19, 2008 04:04 AM (GMT)
Melie could sense someone nearby and looked around her until she saw Sabrina and Melie gave a loud sigh. She didn't need to deal with this kind of drama, not now, not today, not when she was in a mood like this. Melie looked back up at the clouds, focusing on them, letting her mind wander to places it shouldn't.
She missed her friends. Missed them terribly, but they didn't really seem to miss her. None sought her out to hang out, or study or do anything really. She hadn't heard from Dream in a dogs age, Mark and Logan had all but disappeared, Scarlett and Leo both seemed occupied with something all the time, even Liam seemed distant with her. She didn't know what was going on. She felt a tear slide down the side of her face and she brushed it away angrily, angry that she had let herself become attached to these people. They weren't her family, except Scarlett but they were only distant cousins, she had broken her rule. Her and Marcus and Issy's rule, you can't depend on anyone except family.
How that seemed so right lately. Melie let another tear fall, thinking about her sister, who at the time was still only really little, maybe 5, but even she knew how important her brother and sister were. How she could always count on them to help her. Well they weren't there when she needed them the most, and now she was gone. Because Melie was away at Hogwarts, away from her sister, with people who would abandon her at the drop of a hat.
Melie sat up. She needed to go home. She needed to see her brother. Marcus had to tell her she was doing the right thing. Hogwarts just wasn't for her anymore. Before she could even move from her spot someone ran into her. Melie looked into the green eyes of her cousin, feeling a sense of disconnect, and the formal manner in which Scarlett had spoken hadn't helped the situation at all.

ladeeknight - June 19, 2008 04:12 AM (GMT)
Though Scarlett had avoided stepping on Melie, her cousin bounded up all of the sudden and smacked right into her. "Melie darlin' are you ok," Scarlett asked. Melie had a frantic look about her and Scarlett could see way to much of the whites in her eyes. Suddenly Scarlett's head was decending from the clouds to be solidly on her shoulders and ready face whatever crisis was about to crop up.

doratheauror - June 19, 2008 04:23 AM (GMT)
"It doesn't matter," Melie said quickly as she pulled herself to her feet. "None of it matters anymore. Not to any of you guys. Marcus and Issy were right; I never should have come to Hogwarts." Melie said as she started to walk back to the castle. She gave Scarlett a glance over her should as she walked back to the castle, turning her music up slightly, listening to a depressing Avril Lavigne song, Slipped Away. She shoved her hands deeper into the pocket of her black hoodie as she walked away.

REMY-SALINAS - June 19, 2008 04:48 AM (GMT)
Remy came strolling out of the castle and stretched out his hands over his head. He had woken up late and the sun was a bit to bright so he squinted a bit. He thought he saw melie but she looked a bit odd to him. He walked up to her and brushed his hair back out of his face "hey bean how you doing?" he asked her.

sailorleo - June 19, 2008 07:55 AM (GMT)
Leona was walking towards the grounds trying to think about things that were bothering her. Mostly it was mixed feelings for a certain individual. She couldn't bring herself to swing one way or the other. Her thoughts were rocked when she saw Remy heading outside, looking as if he had just woken up. She followed him, and met up with him just as he met up with Melie. Leo could see the sadness in her eyes and hear the music in her iPod. "Chikadee? What's the matter?" she said after Remy and picked her up in the big hug, Which was hilarious to watch considering how tiny Leo was

Emma Potter - June 19, 2008 11:03 AM (GMT)
Emma sprinted around the castle for her last lap, madly pushing into the ground to just spring back and do it again. She found that the more angry she was the more she ran. She wasnt even angry so she couldnt figure out why she chose that word except for the fact that it was the first one to come to mind.

Am I angry?, she asked herself as she bounded a corner, and almost ran into Leo who was standing right in front of her, along with a large group of her friends. "What the heck." she said, pulling out her earphones and intead heard the small screech of her sneakers coming to a quick halt.

"Hey guys." she said brightly while giving a slight wave. "What's going on?" she asked, peering around at her friends until she saw Melie's face. "Oh." she said worriedly.

doratheauror - June 19, 2008 12:29 PM (GMT)
Melie pushed herself out of Leo's hug, why couldn't people understand?
"I'm going home," She said shortly. "I don't belong here anymore, my brother was right. He said that my place was at home with him and my sister, that I would get my heart broken here. I'd be hurt and disappointed." Melie tried to move forward, but Remy and Leo blocked her way, and just then Emma arrived as well.

sailorleo - June 19, 2008 08:01 PM (GMT)
Leona looked gave quizzical eye to Melie. "Sister, you ain't going no where. If I can't leave, neither can you. You belong here more than you realize. If you leave I will throw the biggest ***** fit ever seen on campus, then I'll get kicked out, then I'll spend the rest of my life stalking you. Ask any Ex Boyfriend...I take my stalking very seriously," she said hissing at her, not in a mean way, but in the ludicrous, I'm super serious tone.

ladeeknight - June 19, 2008 08:22 PM (GMT)
Scarlett remained rooted to the rock of the dance floor by stark disbelief. The words that had been spoken were just so un-Melie. Melie was supposed to be perky and perfectly in control of herself. Scarlett shivered as she thought of what horrible cage that must be. She felt she owed her cousin an apology of some sort. When she finally caught up with her she could see that she would have to get in line if she wanted to talk to her. She heard Leo’s words and was suddenly angry. “Melie can do as she pleases. I don’t know why you are stuck here, but if Melie needs to get out of here then out she’ll get if I have boost her over the wall myself.”

doratheauror - June 19, 2008 10:10 PM (GMT)
Melie gave Leo a defiant look, she was going to go where ever she wanted, whenever she wanted.
"If I want to leave Leo, I'm going to leave, and not you or Dream or Liam can stop me. Watch what happens if you try," Melie snarled at her. "People think I'm some sweet girl or whatever, but they forget what I've been through, what I can do."
Melie turned from the group and stalked away. A few feet away she stopped and faced them again.
"Everything started to go wrong from the moment I got here. Marcus tried to stop me, but I didn't listen. This place is like a curse."

sailorleo - June 19, 2008 10:14 PM (GMT)
Leo watched as Melie and Scarlett chewed her out. She knew she had a point, but she had hers as well. "It doesn't matter where you go, you can be miserable elsewhere, or you can be miserable in the company of people who love you, but if you think I'm just gonna sit here and be bashed while I'm trying to tell you how much I love you and explain that I wish you would stay, you're wrong," Leo said with tears brewing. Melie was always snapping at her, and she never knew why, whenever Melie had a problem, she was always there. She wasn't psychic. If she just kept bottling everything up, how was she supposed to know?

Emma Potter - June 19, 2008 11:20 PM (GMT)
Emma first wanted to snap Melie's head off, yell at her, tell her how wrong she was, get in her face and the whole 9 yards, but then when she looked up and saw her friend crying she realized that wasnt the friend she wanted to be.

She took a deep breath and walked over to Melie, and faced her. "If you want to go, go. I'm not going to stop you. If you need to figure things out by yourself, then go do it. I'm going to let you go, because I believe that you'll eventually come back to us, and when you do, I'll be the first one welcoming you back." she said with a small smile, and stepped aside so Melie could get back into the castle.

She didnt expect Melie to acknowledge her, she was even prepared to have a screaming girl in her face, but Emma knew Melie could hear what everyone was saying, and thats all Emma needed. She needed Melie to know that if she needed a shoulder to lean on, Emma was there.

hermionegrangerknockoff1 - June 20, 2008 03:06 AM (GMT)
Sabrina had been still sitting there, vegetation, listening to her ipod the whole time. She finally paused it just as Melie mentioned the idea that she should be at home.

Sabrina knew that she had no right to enter the situation, knowing that Melie looked agitated, and Sab would surely be the final straw in the matter if she showed her face.

She wanted to help so badly, but she was trapped in her own little prison and she couldn;t find the keys to get out. She couldn;t do anything unless she had the kepy, and they were nowhere to be found, so she stayed silent, listening to them.

doratheauror - June 20, 2008 12:41 PM (GMT)
Melie saw all these people trying to convince her to stay, and maybe the old Melie would have, but not now.
"You guys just dont get it," Melie said and turned and left. She swipped a tear from the side of her face. She knew that they cared, but she knew that they would forget about her eventually. She was surprised that Liam hadn't shown up, but then again, she wasn't that surprised really. Melie tugged on the heavy door and went inside the castle. She had to figure out a way home.

REMY-SALINAS - June 20, 2008 01:24 PM (GMT)
Remy looked on as melie walked by him without saying hello and went into the castle. He thought about chasing after her for a second or two but knew that if anyone was going to change her mind it wasn't going to be him after all they hardly knew each other. He shrug his shoulders and knew that he could not solve every problem so he walked away from the crowd his hands in his pockets.

ladeeknight - June 20, 2008 02:23 PM (GMT)
Scarlett followed stubbornly, silent after Melie. She was angered so much by her cousins words that she feared to speak. If this was the way that Melie treated her friends then it was no wonder she felt that she had none. But family was family and if Melie was looking for a way out Scarlett would help her find it. At this point she would pack Melie’s bags and hold the door for her too. She Scarlett took out the Maurauder’s map and said, “You have your choice of secret passages if you want to leave that way I will show you where they are.”

hermionegrangerknockoff1 - June 20, 2008 03:27 PM (GMT)
Sabrina decided to get up. She wanted top see what happened. BUt she hated eavesdropping. She walked into the castle after MElie and Scarlett, then walked towards the entrance to the dungeons. She wondered if she would hear more.

She wished she could change MElie's mind, but she probably would be watsing her voice.

Logan Devonwood - June 30, 2008 03:19 PM (GMT)
It was a quiet day in the castle, but that didn't seem to faze him. Logan had been a bit of a ghost lately, keeping to himself and whatnot. He decided to venture out to the grounds and see if anything was going on that day. However, before he could make it out the front door, he saw a very upset Mel followed by Scarlett. Puzzled, he walked on over.

"Hey Scar, Mel." He nodded to each of them. Logan looked back to Mel. "Something wrong, love?" He tried to look into her eyes.

doratheauror - July 4, 2008 05:28 PM (GMT)
Melie shoved past Logan without realizing that it was him. It was only when he spoke to her that she whipped around to stare at him.
"Anything wrong? Well you'd know if you had been around," Melie snapped. "But you haven't. I'm leaving Hogwarts. I'm going home. For good." Melie gave him a defiant look, waiting for the moment that Logan would fight her about leaving. She knew he would, he was just that kind of person.

Emma Potter - July 5, 2008 12:44 AM (GMT)
Emma followed along after Melie and Scarlett, making sure to stay many feet behind her raging friend. Hearing Scarlett mention secret passages, she said, "You can use the one that leads to Honeydukes. Once in Melie will be free to use Floo Powder or apparate without being caught.". She had no reason to want to make this any harder for her friend who obvisouly going through some melt down or freak out.

Logan Devonwood - July 7, 2008 01:17 AM (GMT)
That one hurt, but he deserved it. No, he didn't know what was going on, but whatever it was, Logan was sure that it was not necessary for Melie to leave Hogwarts forever. He glanced past Emma and walked up toward Melie. Touching her shoulder he looked at her sincerely, "You're not leaving, Mel. I can't let you just go without knowing what's wrong."

{Liam_McCallister} - July 8, 2008 05:26 PM (GMT)
Liam was taking a walk down through the corridors when he saw Logan, Emma, Sabrina, Scarlett and Melie walking down the hallway towards him. Melie looked angry to the point of nearly losing it, and Liam knew it was probably in his, and everyone else's, best interest if he got involved. He walked towards them but was slightly fearful of touching Mel, lest he get hexed into next week. He knew better than to think that if she was mad enough she wouldn't hex him.

"Mel, sweetheart, what's going on?" He reached out and brushed his hand against hers.

doratheauror - July 8, 2008 05:45 PM (GMT)
Melie spun around when she heard Liam talk to her. She felt his hand brush hers, and for a second she started to calm down. But only for a second. She pushed his hand away from hers and turned on him, her wand out now.
"I'm leaving Hogwarts. This place isn't right for me, theres nothing here for me. You know Marcus was right. He said to not come, Issy practically begged me not to go. But I left them, deserted my brother and sister and now she's gone and I have no one here. You don't get it, you don't know what its like. Being abandoned by your friends, by you." Melie choked out, the tears welling in her eyes. She turned away from them all, swiping a tear that was falling down her cheek, but there were too many and soon she just let them fall as she slowly walked away. She turned her head to the side as she stopped walking for a moment, not realizing how irrational she was being. "Obviously theres nothing here for me anymore. I should be at home with my brother."

ladeeknight - July 8, 2008 06:11 PM (GMT)
Scarlett’s anger at her cousin’s callous behavior was melted by Melie’s tears. As a rule Melie didn’t cry so it was all the more powerful to see her tears flowing. “Melie you will be missed if you go, but we will help you if you feel that you need to be with your brother.” Scarlett secretly hoped that once Melie was home she would find that she missed Hogwarts and come back. Weather that happened or not Scarlett still wanted to help Melie do what she felt she needed to.

Logan Devonwood - July 8, 2008 08:36 PM (GMT)
Before he had time to react, Logan saw Liam enter, and backed up a couple of steps. Seeing as Liam was Mel's boyfriend, he'd probably be a little bit better at getting her to open up. Once she did, he listened carefully as she poured out her problem. Abandoned? Mel? He looked back at his friend who now had tears streaming down her face and felt awful. Not quite knowing what to say or do, he stood off to the side trying to think of something good. Logan saw Scarlett walk in and talk to Mel. While he'd rather not see a good friend leave, he had to understand where she was coming from.

"Scar's right Mel." He said quietly. "I'd rather not have to see you go, but if it will make you happier, I can't stand in your way."

Emma Potter - July 8, 2008 11:26 PM (GMT)
Of course, Liam with his perfect timing and all ( :P ), arrived and for a second Emma hoped that maybe Melie wouldr relax. Stepping back to give the two room, she found herself standing right next to Logan who looked quite confused. "Dont ask. I'll tell you later." she whispered to him, barely moving her lips.

Looking back at the group, she realized Liam's persuasion wasnt as perfect and Melie was still leaving and Emma figured if she had to, and wanted to, then they couldnt stop her. Following behind the group, she stopped slightly afraid of saying anything to Mel.

{Liam_McCallister} - July 9, 2008 01:29 AM (GMT)
Liam ran around in front of where Mel was walking, blocking her way.

"Hold on sweetheart, hear me out. I know that I can't understand how you feel about what happened to Issie or how you feel about your brother being home and you're not. I'm an only child. But I do know that you have people here that care for you as if you were family." He gestured to Emma, Logan, Scarlett, and Sab behind her and then to himself. "We love you Mel, and we really don't want you to go. And personally, I think going home will only make it worse for you. So please sweetheart, reconsider. Please don't leave. Because there is way more than nothing here for you. And if you don't believe me, look around you." He looked directly into her startling blue eyes, silently pleading with her not to go. He couldn't let her go, it would only make things worse for her.

doratheauror - July 9, 2008 02:14 AM (GMT)
If Melie had been acting rational she would have known that her friends were there for her, but unfortunately for them she wasn't. But when Liam blocked her way Melie almost cracked, he was pleading with his eyes and Melie never could stay mad at him. But this time it only lasted a second, just as Melie's features softened for a moment, the rage came back. How dare he, of all people, tell me what to do? He's the one that disappears for weeks at a time.
"You might be there for a week or two if I stay, but what happens then? You disappear again, for weeks at a time? Without even letting me know?" Melie snarled at him, gripping her wand tighter and tighter with each word. "You left me! You abandoned me when I needed you to most! You just walked away, left me standing there when I found out about Issie!" Melie screamed at Liam like she had never done before, not with anyone. "Now get out of my way, or do I have to move you myself?" Melie asked, raising her wand for only the second time ever at her boyfriend, the first being a moment earlier.

{Liam_McCallister} - July 9, 2008 02:26 AM (GMT)
Liam was shocked by what he heard. Mel was screaming at him, and accusing her of leaving him. This was like nothing he had ever heard before. Then he felt something welling up inside of him: indignation, pain, he felt a bit betrayed really. When he saw her draw her wand and point it at him he, on instinct, plunged his hand into his robes and drew his own wand, leveling it at her.

"Disappear? I had to leave just a couple of times for important things! That wasn't abandoning you Melie, because I promised you that I would always come back, and I have! Every single time! And I know I made a mistake initially when you found out about Issie, but in case you've forgotten love, I chased you down afterwards to apologize and do anything I could to make it up to you! I'm not perfect sweetheart! And if you really want me out of your way you are going to have to move me, because if you don't I'm not letting you leave. We care about you Mel! I care about you! Why can't you understand that?!"

Logan Devonwood - July 9, 2008 02:39 AM (GMT)
Not exactly sure what to do at that point, Logan awkwardly looked to the side as Mel completely vented her frustrations to Liam. Doesn't sound like she's planning on sticking around at this rate, he thought frowning a bit. However, he turned to fix his gaze on the fighting couple. Seeing the two of them with their wands raised was cause enough for Logan to reach into his pocket and get a firm grip on his own wand. Speechless, he waited for Mel's reaction. He looked back at his wand knowing that it was probably unnecessary to have pulled it out in the first place.

doratheauror - July 9, 2008 02:39 AM (GMT)
Melie was shocked that Liam had raised his wand at her, so shocked that she hesitated a moment, but only for a moment. His words hurt her, not as much as she was sure hers had hurt him, but they hurt none the less. He may have come back, but he rarely even told her he was going, he would just leave and then send word to her later on. If that was love, well she could do without it really.
"I'm leaving whether you like it or not," Melie said through clenched teeth, wand still raised. Not hesitating a moment, she gave a quick flourish of her wand and said "Impedimenta" sending the impediment jinx at Liam.

ladeeknight - July 9, 2008 05:02 AM (GMT)
As the lovers quarrel escalated Scarlett also drew her wand. She was afraid that with tempers running high something horrible might happen. Scarlett prepared to cast a sheild just incase. She flinched at the words exchanged but could do nothing to sheild the pair from that kind of hurt.

There was a split second after Melie cast her impedimenta spell when Scarlett could have tried to block it, but she chose not to. Scarlett hoped the spell hit Liam so that she could get Melie out of Hogwarts. If her normally sweet tempered cousin kept on this way she was going to loose every friend she had.

Logan Devonwood - July 9, 2008 11:59 AM (GMT)
Mel was still leaving. Disappointed, Logan shrugged his shoulders, and had to accept it. It was her choice after all. Apparently the little "quarrel" wasn't over just yet. Mel still had her wand pointed firmly at Liam. The minute she threw a curse, Logan whipped out his wand, and held it firmly in front of himself. His eyes widened in shock. He had never known Mel to jinx anyone, never mind her own boyfriend! "Mel?" His voice cracked.

Emma Potter - July 10, 2008 05:08 AM (GMT)
Emma was the last to bring out her wand mainly because she tried to fool herself into believing they wouldnt quarrel. Logan then stepped up to Mel right after she had sent a spell flying at Liam. Emma half hoped Liam would let Melie through so she could get over this tantrum and come back to her senses.

"Logan." Emma slightly growled under her breath, pointing her wand at her friend. "Leave them." she added hesitantly.

{Liam_McCallister} - July 15, 2008 01:42 PM (GMT)
Before Liam knew what hit him he felt himself knocked backwards by his girlfriend's Impediment Jinx. He hit the floor with a heavy thud and did not get up for a moment, shocked by the force of the attack and the fact that Melie had just jinxed him. All he had tried to do was keep her from leaving because Hogwarts was where she belonged. He pulled himself back to his feet, feeling the stinging of where he collided with the floor, and knowing that there would more than likely be bruising to go along with that. He looked Mel dead in the eye again.

"Sweetheart, it doesn't matter how many times you jinx me. I'm not getting out of your way. You belong here. If you think about it, going home is just going to make you miserable because all you're going to think about is the fact that Issie isn't there anymore. I know it's painful, honest I do, but please just think about it a little bit. I don't want to have to duel you over this but if that's what it takes to bring you back down to earth I'll do it, because I love you." He squared his shoulders and waited for whatever was going to come flying his way next.

Logan Devonwood - July 17, 2008 07:22 PM (GMT)
While he had to agree with Emma that leaving the two alone would probably be for the best, the situation just didn't seem right. Logan backed up slightly, still holding on to his wand. He couldn't believe Liam's apparent recovery. He had just been blasted down onto a stone floor, and yet he had gotten up and walked back to Mel. He listened carefully to what he had to say, and tensed up. Logan glanced back to Mel to try and catch her reaction, hoping that she would snap out of it.

doratheauror - July 17, 2008 07:31 PM (GMT)
Melie didn't hear anything that was being said around her. Nothing was registering with her, not like it normally would have, it was almost like there was something off in her brain, nothing was connecting properly.
Liam was too quick for and before she got a chance to get passed him he was blocking her way again and Melie fumed, she just wanted to leave, why couldn't he understand that? Melie raised her chin, her blue eyes bright with rage that she had never known before in her life and she took a step back and gave a quick flick of her wand and sent a stinging jinx flying at her boyfriend, the boy she loved. But at the moment she didn't see any of that, she wasn't her usual rational self.
