Title: Bodyguard
Description: Invite Only. Renamed to be easier.

5@v3 - June 19, 2008 02:03 AM (GMT)
He hid in the shadows watching her every move. She was famous; a quidditch player - the best. The man was what made her even more famous. Every famous person needs a stalker after all.

Chase knocked on the door to Emma's room. He was her guard. "Em, you up?" He asked. It wasn't the Hogwarts days anymore, though it wasn't to far away from them. Emma was a star. Chase was the auror who didn't cut it and was poised as a body guard for her when she had a feeling that she was being watched. He didn't believe she needed a protector, but hey - it paid well enough. Chase opened the door a crack to see that she was still in bed and waved his wand to make her alarm go off.

Emma Potter - June 19, 2008 02:18 AM (GMT)
"It's early.." she complained, pulling the pillow over her head as she heard Chase walk into her suite. The bedroom door was shut, and he knew not to come into it unless it was open. She glanced over at the alarm clock and sighed, 8 AM. She used to get up at 5 in the morning to run, but now with her crazy schedule and hectic life she slept in.

Pulling off the covers, she swung her legs over the bed and got up. She opened the door and walked out of the bedroom, straight by Chase. He had become use to this treatment in the mornings. She opened the door to the bathroom and went in it, looking at herself in her mirror. She had on plaid blue shorts and a cami, her Ravenclaw PJ's that she still wore around eventhough she wasnt in school.

As she showered, she thought about the whole last year. She was famous, on every magazine cover, the news, radio, her life was supposed to be happy and glamorous, but no. The man she loved had split with her a year ago, she had lost contact with many friends and to top it all of a crazy man was trying to kill her.

Dressed and ready for a day of fashion shoots, she walked into the kitchen and whipped up cereal for Chase and herself. "So I wonder what the gossip today is?" she muttered to herself as she flipped over the front of the newspaper and saw in the celeberity section a picture of her partying, and the right up was about if she was an alcoholic.

"I dont even drink." she said, looking up at Chase to make him confirm the fact, evnethough they both knew it was true. This was how every mornings had been for the last couple months..

5@v3 - June 19, 2008 02:31 AM (GMT)
"It's not that early..." He said, considering telling her that he had been awake almost all night. Though, he was supposed to be - he couldn't really sleep, it wasn't in the job description. Chase opened up a window as she went to shower and looked around at the people down below in the streets. But before he had a chance to really study these people, Emma was out again.

Of coarse, there were always people down on the streets trying to take snapshots of her - it was wizarding London, everyone knew where she was; who she was. It was insanity. Chase continued to look out the window for a moment as she moved from one room to another, and closed the curtain again when he was done.

Whoever wanted her was good at hiding. Which would complicate things ultimately in the long run. He took the bowl that she had given to him and smiled slightly. "Thanks."

Chase took the paper from her when she read it and crumpled it up. "I don't see why you read this damn stuff. It just gets you upset." He said, agreeing to the fact that she didn't drink.

Emma Potter - June 19, 2008 02:38 AM (GMT)
Emma looked up at him, and then over at the window. "Well I dont see why you go over to the window every morning. It's going to be a crowd everyday, its not like the person is going to be standing under a spotlight." she said, before grinning. "I wont make you answer that if you dont make me answer your question." she said before she went back into her bedroom and grabbed her black beret, and black/silver purse.

She was dressed from head to toe in designer clothing, one thing she refused to give up to blend in to make her "safer". She had on skinny jeans with a black flats, a red long sleeve tee with a black vest trimmed in fake animal fur and her blonde hair cut short with her black beret on an angle.

"So where to first?" she asked, finally giving in that he was in charge of her schedule and would transport her the way he thought best..blah..blah. She glanced back down at the newspaper as she walked by it, having already finished her cereal she was getting her coffee before she left.

She paused by the paper, and opened it, scanning all of the articles for one name. Mark Silvershade.

5@v3 - June 19, 2008 02:47 AM (GMT)
Chase laughed slightly. "Yeah yeah, fine." He said with a sigh. Truth was, he himself didn't even know why he did it. It was... Just something he did. Chase put his bowl in the sink and got himself some juice. It didn't matter how tired he was, he couldn't drink coffee.

The stuff just made him sick.

Chase took in her clothes again and shook his head slightly. "I wish you'd just dress normal -" Before he had even finished he looked down at his own clothes. "- says the man in a suit..." He laughed at himself slightly. "Nevermind."

Chase smiled and downed his juice when she asked where to. He noted that she had picked up the paper again and summoned it out of her hands. Chase looked for the article about drunk Emma and he took it out. "First I'm going to go hex a few people and see who the anon. person is who wrote this."

sailorleo - June 19, 2008 07:33 AM (GMT)
OCC: don't tell me, Chase and Emma are gonna go body guard on us? pfft, lol....I guess ill go cue whitney....

BIC: Leona Peppercorn was a rock star, ney a rock goddess. After graduating Hogwarts she had more time to develop her skills as an artist, and to branch out her fan base. Money and fame didn't buy happiness, however, and Leo was miserable since Chase had to leave. She figured it was her doing, because of her reluctance to express her feelings.

Leona walked to the door of her pent house and put in her sunglasses, making her way to a local Cafe where she promised to meet Emma for lunch. She hopped she remembered to show this time

Emma Potter - June 19, 2008 11:14 AM (GMT)
OOC: What is with everyone? How come I have never seen this movie?!!!!

BIC: Letting out a small laugh at Chase's comment, she took a sip of her coffee, watching as her dog Leala, had just woken up and was coming over to greet her. "Hey girl!" she said, bending down and hugging/petting her dog.

"I need to meet Leo for lunch." she said, "I have a photoshoot at 2 and I plan on going clubbing tonight.". The last bit of her plans Chase would hate, she knew that. He always detested her going out like that.

"But there was something else..." she said softly trying to think of it, "Oh well forget it. I'll just go shopping this morning." she said, as she opened the newspaper, waiting for Chase to be ready. He had become a brother type friend, and at first she wasnt thrilled to have a bodyguard...still isnt thrilled about having a bodyguard, but having Chase was like having a good friend to do everything with you, so it was ok.

She scanned every article looking for him, his name or even a mention of his department, something to tell her what was going on in his life. Once she had done that, she did the whole process over again, this time scanning for any of her friend's names. Of course Leo was in there, she had an article right beside the one about Emma as an alcoholic.

Sick of it, she threw the paper into the trashcan and looked at Chase. "Ready?" she asked.

5@v3 - June 19, 2008 01:02 PM (GMT)
Ooc: Don't worry, I haven't either. :)

Bic: Chase smiled at the dog, but frowned slightly at the things that Emma wanted to do with her day. Photoshoot's were planned usually weeks in advance, and they always furthered her career; Chase was all for them. Actually, he almost found it funny actually that when he was a child he wanted to be a photographer; he had skills enough with it, but he had to pursue the path that hated him.

Chase didn't like either of the other two things much. Truthfully he would have rather let her go clubbing alone than accompany Miss Emma to Lunch where she would meet Leona. In fact, he usually tried to get out of it by getting another auror to take over while he did something he really didn't need to do. This time, no such luck.

He had taken to phoning many different aurors the previous day; all busy. So he was going, and that made him slightly sick. All the same he pretended to be annoyed about the clubs instead. "I suppose I'll have to destroy their cameras then..." He said.

Seeing her throw the paper away again, like he head done a few times already, he made his way out; of coarse, he made sure she was coming before he moved. "Coarse..." He said, slightly unsure.

Scarlett awoke to the sound of a crowd outside the window of her suite. She was not pleased. What the heck was going she thought as she moved to the window to peer down at the gathered mass. They were definitely going to wake Kat. Brows furrowed Scarlett went to the desk in her room and composed a howler for the manager of this hotel. It was not brief, not pleasant. Her bat winged away with it.

Scarlett was particularly put out because this was her first morning of house hunting here in London and Kat was going to need her strength to keep up with Scarlett. Now it looked like the poor little jet lagged darling was going to have to come back to the hotel early with Lena. Scarlett scowled toward the window and vowed she would not be paying for this room. She dressed quickly and waited for a response to her howler.

In the mean time Kat awoke cranky too early. Scarlett tried her best to sooth the three-year-old and get her dressed and fed. Lena her house elf was there to help and Bella was there to steal bacon from the plates of both mother and daughter.

Mid way through breakfast a tap at the door heralded the arrival of a very apologetic hotel desk manager. Yes he would switch there rooms while they were gone for the morning. No they would not be charged for last nights stay or any other night from which they were awoken too early by a screaming mob. Scarlett’s last demand brought her a bit of a surprise. The mob seemed to be gathered for someone she knew. Emma Potter. Scarlett kept the man waiting as she penned a quick message:

Emma,

We are staying in the same hotel. I would love to get together with you. An owl will find me house-hunting this morning.

Scarlett.

Message in hand the man was dismissed.

sailorleo - June 19, 2008 07:28 PM (GMT)
Leo sat down in the cafe with a pen in paper in hand. Only one thing had been on her mind for the last week, ever since she discovered something about Emma. She was working on her Magnum Opus. Her greatest achievement, she had a melody, she just couldn't find the words. "How appropriate," she said to herself referring to her lose of words.

Emma Potter - June 19, 2008 09:26 PM (GMT)
Emma left the room and headed to the elevator. She entered in, and looked to man who usually operated it, but instead she found the manager. "First floor, please." she said politely to him, when he handed her a note. "Umm..thankyou." she said, slightly confused at first but as she opened it and read it a smile formed across her face.

With one flick of her wand, she casted her patronus and sent it off to Scarlett to tell her to meet "The Royal Cafe" where she was meeting Leo for lunch, or to meet her somewhere for dinner.

As the elevator beeped and let her off at the first floor, she put sunglasses on, more for hiding her face than actually shielding from the sun as she walked through the lobby and out the door and into her Range Rover, trying to avoid any flashing cameras.

Once Chase had gotten in, she drove down the block, and turned into a small alley, planning on taking a short cut to a favorite store of hers. Looking into her rear view mirror she saw a white van following her. "Chase...?" she said softly as she turned another corner and saw that the van was still right behind her.

She wanted to lose them, the chance they were going to the same store as her was very small. She quickly turned right, the wheels screeching as she did. There was a loud bang and she looked out again to see her front tire having been shot at with a spell. "What the heck?" she said outloud, as she continued turning right into a parking garage. She heard another bang and didnt even want to know what happened, she looked over at Chase, wondering what she should do, as she quickly began to panic.

What if..

5@v3 - June 24, 2008 01:31 PM (GMT)
He read over her shoulder out of habit even after he noted that it was Scarlett's writing. What can you do?

Chase was pretty calm considering. He was pretty used to Emma's paranoid driving habits, but it seemed as though there was a bit more to this one situation than normal. Well... Maybe more than a bit. The tired was a quick fix, but the fact that even Emma's 'fancy turns' couldn't get the best of this guy wasn't reassuring.

Chase wasn't one to shoot before ask; meaning he wasn't about to start shooting spells all over. But he also wasn't one to have bad aim; no matter the situation he usually had very good aim. He looked back and noted that the windshield was faded to black just in front of the wand-wheelers face making it impossible to tell anything. He noted that Emma was looking over at him and took out his wand. "Just drive..." He said, pointing to a parking spot that was right near another way out.

"Make to turn out but park." They got under a shadow and the car quickly turned into some other type of car: Chase's doing obviously. And as soon as they were turned into the parking spot and the engine off, he saw the other car swerve out of the parking garage. "You alright?"

Emma Potter - June 24, 2008 02:12 PM (GMT)
Emma did as Chase said, slightly annoyed at the fact that he had disguised her car, but whatever. She parked and turned off the engine, allowing them to sit in the shadows. "Brilliant." she said to him with a roll of the eyes. It was her way of saying thankyou without actually saying it.

"So now what?" she asked, checking her watch to see that she wouldnt have time to go shopping. "I'm sure you're upset that now I can't go shopping." she said dryly, before re-starting the engine, and looking both ways before leaving the garage. She would head off to the cafe eventhough she would get there a little early.

"So I checked us out of the hotel." she said, trying to figure out if Chase would be happy or mad about this fact. "I have training picking up in two days, and I obvisouly need to be in France for that. So I want to go home." she said referring to her french quidtich team that had given them a break for a week before training hard for the Quidtich Cup. She would go back to her french apartment and live there for a while.

"You dont have to stay. I'll have bodyguards that are assigned for the team." she said, allowing him an opening to go back to his normal life, not that she didnt like him around, she just thought he would like normal.

5@v3 - June 24, 2008 02:22 PM (GMT)
Chase was listening, just not really listening. Hearing is only as good as the response and he really didn't have one at the moment. "No..." He said about her shopping comment in the same dry way.

He heard her start talking about going home and nodded in a slightly offbeat way because, again, he was only paying slight attention to what she said. "Team guards are in charge of guarding everyone. Once you leave they're not assigned to you anymore." He said simply, as if that was that.

"Royal Cafe..." He said, putting on sunglasses. "Yeah... I hate that place..." He said again. It wasn't that he didn't like the place, but that was usually his excuse for not going and getting someone else to go in place of him. Not this time.

Emma Potter - June 24, 2008 02:37 PM (GMT)
Emma drove back onto one of the main streets where she parked by a small cafe with seating outside and inside. It was part of many stores next to each other on the street, and the area was a very popular hangout. "Chase, I'm letting you go tonight. I have a bodyguard from the team already promised for my use. You need to relax and go back to a normal life for a little bit." she said as she got out, and walked up through the entrance and into the cafe, looking around for any of her friends.

Leo was sitting in the corner already with a waitress serving her with drinks. Emma walked over and smiled at her friend. "Hello." she said, and told the waitress that she would like water. "I hope you didnt mind, but Scarlett might be showing up." she said, extremely happy to see her friends.

ladeeknight - June 24, 2008 03:16 PM (GMT)
After a very productive morning of looking at houses Scarlett took her very whiney tired child back to the hotel to find there new room faced a quiet inner courtyard. Very pleased Scarlett put Kat down for a nap with Lena to watch over her.

Scarlett hailed a cab and went to Royal Café. Sometimes Emma could be hard to identify, but not when she was standing next to Leo. Scarlett smiled brightly at her friends. “Hey girls.”

sailorleo - June 24, 2008 08:21 PM (GMT)
Even in friendship, Leo could be a shriveled up shrew. All she could think about was how she ran off one of her best friends, because of her reluctance to show her feelings to him. Whenever she was mad, or sad, she kept it bottled down, and she knew it annoyed him to high heaven, she assumed that it just got to be too much for him, so he just didn't want to be her friend any more....

She snapped her head up when she say Emma and Scarlett join her at the table. "Oh hey guys," she said with a wave trying to conceal her thoughts for the moment.

Emma Potter - June 24, 2008 09:16 PM (GMT)
Emma took off her sunglasses and folded them as she put them away in her purse. The beret would stay on, it hid most of her hair. Her skin was darker than usual, eyes blue, hair light brown with blonde highlights. "So what's up chickas?" she asked casually being releaved to actually be able to talk to one of her friends normally, instead of getting the fancy treatment or having everyone try to be her friend because of her name.

She ordered a chef salad, and looked around slightly to see where Chase had gone to. He was doing a good job of hiding himself from view. Looking at Scarlett she smiled, "So is Kat off sleeping or playing with friends?".

5@v3 - June 25, 2008 12:34 AM (GMT)
Chase was leaning off against a wall with his sunglasses on hiding his Summerview eyes. When he saw Emma scan the room he assumed it was for him and he raised a hand slightly to show where he was. It was easy to tell he was guarding someone or another and a few people looked at him oddly and then looked around.

Chase noted that a small girl had run in, against her mother's wishes, with a pad of paper for Emma to sign. Avoiding a glare at the pink end of the table, not that it would have been seen because of the glasses, he looked over the people and then his eyes moved onto the door. This would be a long meeting.

And painful.

Mark_EmmaWatsonFan - June 25, 2008 02:51 AM (GMT)
Mark grabbed the small circular object with his left hand, whilst pointing his wand into the center of the object with his right hand. He was deep inside the tunnels of gringotts on a job, he tapped the cursed metal plate and muttered a secret incantation, at this the plate exploded and send him flying backward into the rock wall behind him.

Mark climbed to him feet and brushed himself off, his new job as a curse breaker was certainly more dangerous than being a normal member of the aurors, but this wasnt the worst part of his job, he actually rather enjoyed it. The worst part was the travelling, most people would consider travelling the world a perk of the job, but the substancial time he spent away from home had forced him to break up with Emma, his girlfriend and only real love of the past few years.

After twenty minutes walk back up the twisted tunnels of inner Gringotts he emerged at the entrance, he had Emma on his mind and pulled out his wallet and looked at the picture of her he still carried around with him. "Whats that?" came a voice from nearby.

"Errr nothing." he said quickly folding it back into his wallet and stuffing it back into his pocket.

His collegue walked over to him before speaking again, "Heard a pretty big explosion down there. It's not like you to have any problems with a job Mark." Anna said before leaning in and kissing him on the cheek. Anna was a fellow curse breaker and they were employed by different institutions all over the world to track down dangerous or sometimes valuable items for them.

"Anyway its Lunch time and you promised to take me out." she finished with a smile as she grabbed Marks hand and led him out of the bank.

"Its our third date, im pretty sure i paid for the first two ya know." he joked back with a grin as they walked down the street looking for a suitable resteraunt.

"How about here?" Anna asked pointing towards 'The Royal Cafe'

"Nah, i hate that place." Mark said as he walked past the window holding Anna's hand, not wanting to go inside or even look inside after all the memories he had from that particular resteraunt.

Emma Potter - June 25, 2008 11:00 AM (GMT)
The Royal Cafe was Emma's favorite restaurant. It was so quiet and peaceful compared to the roaring city that it was in. The inside was filled with black and white pictures of the city, world, people, animals, and anything else that one could find to take a picture of. It was at these pictures she had been looking at before her eyes were drawn to the window because of sudden movement.

She had just finished signing an autograph for a little girl when she saw Mark walk by with another girl hanging off his arm. Wanting desperately to run after him, she knew she couldnt, not in the middle of lunch, so she took one stab at her salad before taking a bite.

The little girl ran out of the cafe yelling happily to her mother who was waiting outside that "I have her autograph!!! Look mommy, her autograph!".

The girl was far away from Mark, who Emma could still see walk away by craning her neck, but maybe he heard the girl, and she wondered if that made him think of her. Did he ever think of me like I constantly thought of him? she thought to herself

"Leo, where is your next concert. I havent been to one in a while." she said with a smile.

ladeeknight - June 25, 2008 05:12 PM (GMT)
Scarlett was so caught up in the silent drama between Leo and Chase that she did not at first hear Emma’s question. Then she waited while Emma signed an autograph for a small girl. Then a stricken looked crossed Emma’s face and Scarlett’s gaze followed hers to see Mark walking along the street with another woman. Scarlett felt a pang of sympathy for Emma, though she knew it was perfectly natural for Mark to be dating. Still she did what any friend would do. “Oh Emma honey you shouldn’t be jealous of that girl,” Scarlett said laying a comforting hand on Emma’s arm. “Not with that five dollar hair cut and drab outfit. Mark has obviously settled for what was available.”

Emma Potter - June 25, 2008 06:05 PM (GMT)
Emma looked down to see Scarlett's hand on her arm, smiling at her friend's words. "He settled for what's realistic and normal." she said more to herself than anyone else. "She's pretty and it looks they can find time to be with each other. I'm happy for him." she said to Scarlett, finally looking away from Mark and giving a fake smile that she was almost positive Scarlett could read through.

"Leo you've been pretty quiet." she said with a grin, "We're not going to bite. Well actually I dont about Scarlett.." she said teasingly, watching as a few people were staring at Leo, probably realizing that they were sititng within feet of their favorite singer.

"So I want to know what's been going on with you guys." she said excitedly, repeating her earlier question that was not answered.

sailorleo - June 26, 2008 10:10 PM (GMT)
"What are you talking about, the woman out there is a hag, and you know it, I mean look at those teeth," she said with a roll of her eyes, then a cocky smile, as she was trying to cheer up one of her best friends. "And yeah, a quiet Leo is always a quagmire," she said tossing her napkin and pen away, the song was rubbish anyway.

5@v3 - June 27, 2008 04:19 AM (GMT)
Chase sighed slightly and looked over his sunglasses at the table full of girls. Him: off against the wall with only the simple looks of people trying to figure out why he was standing there. The odd thing was that he wasn't regretting coming as much as he thought he was; though as boring as it was.

Chase pushed his sunglasses up so that he couldn't look over them anymore and went over because the boredom factor was ribbing him. "Well hello there Miss Scarlett." He said with a smile. "How are ya?" Wow. He had to be bored to speak like he was. Speak like he was still in school. He had gotten quite over that form of speech.

ladeeknight - June 27, 2008 08:44 PM (GMT)
Scarlett rewarded Chase with a smile when he decided to be civil. At some point during their Hogwarts years both Scarlett and Chase had gotten over themselves enough to become fast friends. “I am great Chase thanks for askin.’ In fact Kat and I were house huntin’ this morin’ because we will be relocatin’ here permanently. As much as I hate the weather here it seems that I am doomed to endure it.” Scarlett smiled as wiggled gold ring shaped like a dragon trying to swallow and almost indecent sized emerald on her left ring finger so that it caught light and flashed. The ring had originally been set with a diamond and had been knocking around in a box that Michael had been carrying with them since they had graduated from Hogwarts. Scarlett had appreciated the sentimental gesture, but she thought it was kind of sad in a way too, and besides she had always wanted an emerald engagement ring. A happy compromise wrapped around her finger signifying a lifetime of compromising that would be happier hopefully than a lifetime of loneliness.

Emma Potter - June 28, 2008 01:44 PM (GMT)
Emma watchd reluctantly as Chase came over and started talking to Scarlett. She was glad he decided to join the group. As she took a sip of her water, she watched from the rim of her glass the exchange between Chase and Scarlett, happy that they were better friends now.

"Scarlett, your ring is beautiful." she said, admiring the ring from where she was sitting. Pausing, she avoided silence by quickly rummaging through her purse before she pulled out 6 tickets, 2 for each of her friends.

"Here ya go." she said passing them around to everyone, avoiding Chase's eyes when she handed it to him because in his plans he would still be her bodyguard by then and wouldnt need tickets to get in.

"If you guys have nothing to do this Saturday, its the Quidtich Female World Cup and my team is playing in it and I thought you guys might enjoy the opportunity to watch it from one of our luxury suites in the stadium." she added with a smile, recalling all of the delicious food that was served in the suite.

ladeeknight - June 28, 2008 04:16 PM (GMT)
"Thank you Emma, I am rather fond of it myself. Y'all should watch your window sills for wedding invitations."

Emma began to pass out tickets. Scarlett picked hers up and looked at it cautiously. Sometimes she thought she was the only one in the Wizarding World who was not obsessed with Quiditch. But since it was one of her friends playing she thought it would be more interesting. "That sounds lovely Emma. I am sure my schedule can be cleared for Saturday envening."

sailorleo - June 28, 2008 08:03 PM (GMT)
Leona looked at the two tickets she was handed. "What am I going to do with this other one?" Leo said thinking out loud, really she didn't have many friends any more, the closest thing she had to a friend was her manager. "I guess she'll be getting this one," Leo said as she almost pocketed it. "Unless Emma there's someone else you know who needs a ticket?"

5@v3 - June 28, 2008 08:26 PM (GMT)
Chase also couldn't help looking at Scarlett's ring as she adjusted it and when Emma mentioned it he nodded slightly. "House hunting is always fun..." He said, seating himself. "If you need any help I'd be glad to pull Emma away from one of her shopping trips so that I can help." He gave a grin that said clearly that he would love to pull her away from all of her shopping trips to help even if he didn't do a single thing.

Chase made a clicking sound with his tounge upon Leona questioning if anyone else Emma knew would need one, he had sort of just put his own down in front of him on the table but his mind was working against him at the moment. He turned his gaze onto Emma.

Emma Potter - June 28, 2008 11:45 PM (GMT)
Emma watched her friends reactions to the tickets, and slowly began to laugh. Scarlett was not a quidtich fan, Leo didnt know what to do with them, and Chase well..god knows what Chase was thinking.

"You guys dont have to come. I was just given tickets and I needed to give them to some people so I decided to give them to you since you're my friends." she said, still laughing softly to herself. Her eyes flashed up at Leo when she asked if there was no one else could use it.

Yes, there was someone else who could use it, problem was they werent talking and she had to much pride to face the person yet.

"Nope, no one else." she said with a re-assuring smile before adding, "If you want Leo you could do some kind of raffle or prize for your fans, like a day with Leo or something if you dont know what to do with it.".

As she took another sip of water, a habit she had picked up when she didnt know what to say, she saw Chase looking at her.

"What?!" she asked, finally giving in and wanting to know what he was thinking.

5@v3 - June 30, 2008 03:48 AM (GMT)
Chase gave a simple shrug. "I find it funny," He began in a way that sounded as if he would surely be speaking for a long and boring period of time, but in fact he hadn't much to say at all. "That you know perfectly well who you want to give it to... But you chose to tell everyone that there's nobody to give it to." Hey, this is what happened when you spent to much time with someone. You know them like the back of your palm. "Considering the fact that every morning you do a frantic search through the paper in hopes of finding three names. Your own. Leo's-" He gestured to Leona. The first time he had actually acknowledged that she was even present. "And... Well, you get my point."

ladeeknight - June 30, 2008 05:14 PM (GMT)
Once again the table was thick with tension. Scarlett hoped to relieve it with a little good natured teasing, “Chase if it’s all the same to you I will forgo your help with house huntin’. I mean really, we’ve all seen the Manor. Are you really anyone to give advice about real estate?” Scarlett hoped they could all have a laugh about the bad old days and Emma would be spared some of the awkwardness of obviously wanting Mark to attend the game.

5@v3 - June 30, 2008 06:01 PM (GMT)
Chase shrugged slightly. "The manor was made thousands of years ago. I have no way of changing it in almost any way." With a small shrug, smaller than the last one, he threw over a smile. Realizing of coarse what she was doing. "But you're probably right. Only places I've ever lived were Hogwarts and the Manor." And of coarse random hotels but those didn't help any so he needn't mention them. Chase laughed a bit. "Only thing I say is if you go for a muggle-owned house... Check for charms in the house first. God only knows how many witches and wizards have bought muggle made homes only to have themselves cursed in their sleep." He smirked, throwing off the chuckle he was hiding. "Ministry got a laugh out of the last one actually... Guy fell asleep on the toilet and woke up with his feet glued to his shoulders."

Smiling at Scarlett, Emma brushed her bangs away from her face and made a mental note of how much she owed Scarlett. She listened to Chase's stories and started laughing when he mentioned the guy who fell asleep on a toilet.

"I remember, when I was 8, my mom had to stay overnight at St. Mungo's for a whole week because they couldnt figure out how to fix a guy who's neck was actually stretched so long that he could wind it around his arm and up. He accidently layed in a pillow soaked in a potion." she said, it was not as comical of a story but it was still interesting.

An hour and a half had almost passed, and Emma needed to figure out a way to somehow leave Chase and get away without him. She needed to find a way to get back to her own home, and un-wind before practice began the next day.

"If you will all excuse me for a second, I need to make a phone call." she said slipping out her cell phone as she began to get up from her seat and walk out of the restaurant to get better reception, and if all went well she would accidently blend in with the crowd.

As Emma was getting up to make her call the waitress was bringing Scarlett’s soup. The poor thing must have been new because as she passed Chase she stumbled and Scarlett’s bowl went flying toward his lap. Scarlett’s first instinct was to draw her wand and magic the mess away. Since becoming a mother Scarlett had become pretty quick on the draw with this spell. Scarlett caught herself mid-draw and offered Chase some napkins, while she tried to calm the nearly hysterical waitress.

Chase didn't exactly notice what was happening until it happened. He was already preforming spells underneath the table and directed at Emma's phone. Then there was hot soup all over him. He stopped mid-spell at the shock of this and changed the spell quickly to a different one which cleaned him instantly. He had gotten better with a wand, but still... "No, no that's alright..." He said with half laugh.

His eyes darted back to Emma who he swore was slipping away little by little, and he finished the spell that tapped into her phone and allowed him to hear the conversation and if the phone was being tapped by someone other than him. He had gotten good at things like that while working at the Magical Muggle after school and on weekends.

Emma quickly walked along with the ground, speaking into her phone to make it look like she was talking to someone when really there was no one on the other end. It was a stupid trick that would hopefully help her get to her freedom. She would contact her gal pals that night to let them know what was going on and so they could finish her discussions.

They will understand.. she told herself, hoping they would ignore her rudeness of leaving and realize its because she needs to end things and get back to a normal life.

Chase. The one person right now she did not want to have mad at her, but it would most likely happen and she would somehow find a way to make sure they Ministry did not yell at him or sack him for letting her get away.

Yes, Get away.. she repeated in her head, as she took one last glance at the window where her friends were chatting, catching Chase's eye before apparting away from them all. The area around her blurred and changed until finally she landed at her destination and descended through the common streets, heading to her real home.

Chase stood up in order to follow Emma but looked back at the other two at the table in apology for leaving. Vanishing act. That pretty much described Emma's little apparation. His cell phone opened in a blur and quickly he was on the line with another auror. "She got away." Yelling. Lots of yelling, and then yelling from someone else. "I was across the table she apparated! Can you tell me where she went?"

This wasn't something he took pleasure in. "Just get into my office and get someone in muggle artifacts to connect onto my computer. If she's still got her phone we can get her from there!" Questions. More questions. A slur of questions. "A big red dot will pop up. Just tell me where it is!" Nothing? They got nothing. "Idiots."

Leona didn't know what was going on, so she remained silent, when Emma and Chase left Leona looked over at Scarlett. "Safe to say, I think we've been ditched," she said to her and took a sip of her water. Leona loved water, well to drink it anyway. Water was so good to the body.
