Title: New book for HP 10th anniversary
Description: well, when I say new....

Ankaa - May 27, 2008 07:48 AM (GMT)
It seems that Scholastic haven't quite made enough pennies out of HP yet...they're going to release a new version of book one (Philosopher's Stone/Sorcerer's Stone) on Sept 23rd to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the series.

The cover has been redesigned to show Harry looking into the Mirror of Erised and, excitingly, it features some new material from JKR.

Disappointingly, I hear it won't be available in the UK, so I'm not sure if this is an American exclusive. Fear not though, Amazon are taking pre-orders now!

Money, money, money... that's all they want.

Goh! You think they would be happy with all the money they have gotten from it. Typical though, gotta milk it for all it's worth. Hasn't the anniversary passed anyway . . . the first book came out in'97. Unless they mean the Scholastic version . . .

Oh well I'm happy with my ratty food covered, ripped edition of Philosophers Stone. Heehee my copy of GoF is also the mis-printed one but I still haven't even bothered to get a new one of that even though the cover has fallen off now too. :)

Classics is what those are, Shonk. Torn covers, stained pages, and old - used - book smell are what make them better. I don't want a crisp copy of a book I already have. Ew.

well since this is a scholastic reprint, I'm pretty sure it also coincides with their anniversary as well. But i don't know, I might get it, since i missed my opportunity to get the leather bound version of SS. If it has new material in it, then heck, why not...

Oh that is so true. I absolutely adore old books. I own a 114 year old dictionary that is simply my favourite possession. The paper in it is so different to what is in todays books and the cover is beautiful.

Anyway . . . if it has new material well meh. We don't even get the scholastic editions down here so it's not like I could get it anyway. Plus as far as I'm concerned it's not Harry Potter cause the title is wrong :P

That's an old book o_O I have old poetry books, and I like them :D

I don't know if we get the Scholastic ones here.. I don't think so.

I have older ones but I love dictionaries cause I'm a nerd :P

You're a cool nerd. I dated a nerd once... well, 3 actually. Bad mistake. (No, I'm not anti-nerd; these guys just sucked).

I'd really like to know what the new material is before I buy it. I don't know if I have $20 or $30 bucks to throw around. My parents won't get it for me. :( Heck I might just skim through the book one day at the store. It's not that long and all I really want from it is the new material!
