Title: Ministry forum?

Ginny_potter - April 19, 2008 11:42 AM (GMT)
I was just thinking that maybe we could have a whole ministry forum? As there is no where really to post where we can RP at the ministry, I was also thinking, could we also have places like number 12 grimmauld place, azkaban, st mungos and the burrow?

I personaly think thats a great idea! I'm totally with her on that! :)

If we do get a Ministry forum, I'd love to be an Unspeakable! :D

They are good ideas, and I think that the ministry would be great, but the more forums you have, the more work you have. But it's all up to Reg.

Well, I like Ministry, Azkaban, and Mungo's. But the burrow and the black house are just houses... It would be kind of useless to have those places unless someone owned them and lived in them. And then it would be chaos to try and chose who got to live there!

St. Mungo's could be a subforum in the Hospital wing if the need arouse. But, these forums can only have so many places as well, and we've already got quite a few of them... Also, places could branch off from the train forum, that way we've got a way to get from places. But I'm just talking about if we needed the space, I'm not sure how many forums invisionfree can hold.

And as far as help goes, I'm pretty sure that it's safe to say everyone and anyone would help out.

Right you are Chase.

Actually Em, what a fantastic idea this is. The LC is going to be changing in the next month or so (believe it's totally for the better) but we'll be able to have unlimited subforums, meaning that we can forums like this:

Forum>>>Subforum>>>SubSubforum>>>>SubSubSubforum

Get the idea? We don't wanna get carried away but we can have as many of those as we want. But yeah, you just need to figure out what parts of the Ministry that you want. Like I'm not sure if we need to the Burrow...but come up with a list for me please.

I'm awful at remembering the names, but I think we should have the courtroom, the main room with all the floo fireplaces and the prophecy room in the ministry. Then in St. Mungo's we should have all of the floors, accidental spells, wounds made by animals, beast, etc, the floor that Neville's parents and Lockheart were in, etc. I would also LOVE if we actually had a Leaky Cauldron forum. We could have the bar and the hotel and use it as a place to stay when going to Diagon Alley or before/after getting on the Hogwarts Express.

Or, just a main Ministry forum and we can branch off as we like in our RP's. As for the burrow and such, we could have a subforum branching off from the platform and have it lead to something called "Housing" or something of the like. That way we can create our houses there. Also, someone could put up a claimed thread so that some people can claim houses from the movies and such. This would NOT take away your claim in the Harry Potter Claims thread though.

I don’t know about claiming houses from the books. It seems like they are things that could be claimed in the normal claiming thread. Besides what if someone claimed something from a house and a different person then claimed the house. Does the house come empty or are there now two items. But I really like the idea of having a forum for people’s houses. We could call it “Home Sweet Home” or something along those lines and then when we wanted to role play being home for the summer or holiday we could use that forum.

And Dream I love the idea of having all the floors of the hospital, but do you think we would ever use them? LOL who am I kidding we are pretty imaginative when it come to hurting ourselves here.

I was thinking maybe we could make a subforum from the grounds called Hagrid’s Hut. We could have classes there someday and if we have a sick owl or unicorn we could take it there.

I was thinking Empty, but if we don't do that it doesn't matter^^

I think that the houses should defintely be somethig that took the place of a regular claim, however I also think they should be off limits. I like the idea of having a place to live, but I think it would be cool to have different places to live. The Burrows, Godrick's Hollow, Little Whinging, London and Little Hangleton, and places like that. Maybe take some of the more popular onesand do it that way. It wouldn't make a lot of sense to have everyone be from The Burrows.

As for the different floors of St. Mungo's here they are:

Ground Floor: Artifact Accidents
(Cauldron explosion, wand-backfiring, broom crashes, etc.)

First Floor: Creature-Induced Injuries
(Bites, stings, burns, embedded spiders, etc.)

Second Floor: Magical Bugs
(Contagious maladies, e.g., dragon pox, vanishing sickness, scrofungulus)

Third Floor: Potion and Plant Poisoning
(Rashes, regurgitation, uncontrollable giggling, etc.)

Fourth Floor: Spell Damage
(Unliftable jinxes, hexes, and incorrectly applied charms, etc.)

Fifth Floor: Visitor's Tearoom and Hospital Shop

I for one can find a LOT of reasons to visit each of them. :P

I like the Hagrid's Hut idea too but I don't know how much action it would see just because all of the school stuff happens in the Classes Forum. But for threads like our unicorn one atm, it would have worked out well. :)
