Annie sat in a chair at what she thought was the back of the room. Though she couldn't find her way out of the damned room, it was still a great accomplishment that she had even gotten into Hogwarts! Sure, she had used the hidden passage way under Honeydukes to get onto the grounds, but from there it was mere skill. Yet, she had still awoken in this god forsaken room! Her long black wand was moving rapidly between her fingers and every once in a while she would aim a complex spell at the wall to try and make a door appear or to try and make the wall crumble. Had she been locked in here by someone? Had this place turned into her own personal jail until someone wandered in?

Chase walked around near the kitchen. He had needed a snack and because he had given the basket that connected to the kitchen away to Dream, he was out of luck. Hearing the voice of someone whom he believed was a prefect, he looked at the time. It was quite late and, though he didn't mind trouble, he didn't believe it was deserved just because he had gotten hungry! The door to the Room Of Requirement was just ahead and it was sealed so he believed it not to be used. Doing what was needed and thinking, just a place to hide, he saw the door and pulled it open quickly. He still wasn't sure if it had been a prefect or not, but he didn't want to take the change. Chase turned around as he closed the door to see a woman who seemed to be about twenty, perhaps twenty-two. "Hello..." Chase said nervously.

Annie didn't speak. Her hand had stopped twirling her wand by now and she wasn't in the mood for small talk with a child. Much less a male one, but if she was going to get out of here she would need help. Her twisted mind warped itself around the idea. Either Chase would help out willingly or... "Say, Dear, do you know the way out?" She asked seeing as the door had not vanished, she believed he would simply say open the door.

He did. "The doors open... But I wouldn't go out. How the hell did you get in here anyway? Who are you?" Chase noted that he had asked one question to many when her wand stood at his throat. Not wanting to swallow because it was so close, he spoke in a whisper. "I'm sorry. Just go if you like." Chase was sure the chick knew spells much worse than him.

"I like you." Annie said with a smirk. "You're coming with me... You shall be my pet. Imperio!" Annie's hand was on the door and the two of them walked out.

Sabrina had been walking and she saw Chase disappear ito the ROR.
"Chase!" she called after him but she heard a female voice say "imperio!" and Sabrina froze. She whipped out her wand and stood there, then she began to sneak closer to the door.
She hoped Chase was allright...

Annie heard footsteps and saw a slight shadow. The tip of a wand was seen just at the door and Annie heard a voice. "Avis!" She said. As the spell left her lips, many birds flew out of the tip f her wand, flying over to the little intruder. The wand was snatched away quickly and brought back to Annie who inspected it. "Pathetic..."

Chase stood there like a zombie.

Scarlett was a nosey person by nature and she possessed a very great magical item that aided in this nosiness. When Scarlett was board at Madam Padfoots or avoiding her homework in the Library she would take out the Marauder’s Map and just watch the denizens of Hogwarts scurry around it like ants. Most went in tried and true patters, some were very erratic. Scarlett was so good at watching the dots that she could almost tell who was up to something and who was down and out just by the way the dots moved, or sulked in one place.

One way she could tell when someone was usually up to no good was if they were sneaking through hidden passages. Scarlett almost thought of it as her duty to “guard” the secret passages by watching them. She didn’t rat people out for sneaking into Hogsmede, she’d loose a lot of customers that way, but she was mindful of those who wanted in to Hogwarts. In the past there had been much trouble with this and Scarlett was determined the nothing horrible would happen on her watch.

One night she saw an unfamiliar dot labeled Annie, sneaking through the passage from Honey Dukes. Scarlett could not recall any student named Annie currently enrolled at Hogwarts. Her heart began to pound. The Annie dot wandered around in front of the ROR for a while and went in and stayed there. Scarlett needed to go to class. She folded the map up and put in her bag and headed to class.


12 hours later…

Scarlett’s busy day had made her forget all about the Annie dot until she was getting read for bed. “Oh no!” She exclaimed softly to herself as she unfolded the Map. After saying the magic words she checked on the Annie dot. It was still in the ROR. It was late so most of the dots were still. She could see Chase and Sabrina moving around, as well as Filch and a prefect or two. “Come on Bella,” Scarlett said and she threw her school robes over her gold silk PJ’s, “We are goin’ to find out about this Annie character.” Bella mewed and followed Scarlett toward the ROR. It was the sound of Scarlett’s footsteps that drove Chase into the ROR.

Scarlett flattened herself against the wall outside as she went in. She wanted to call out to him, but Filch was in the area. The door to the ROR was slightly open and Scarlett saw Sabrina come around the corner. The red haired girl was attacked by birds and disarmed. Scarlett could feel Bella’s restlessness at her feet. “Keep quiet for now. Don’t worry. You are gonna get your chance at those birds.” Scarlett could see Chase standing like a zombie beside a young woman that Scarlett thought must be Annie. Scarlett didn’t have a very clear shot at the witch because Sabrina was still in the way. Scarlett figured the spell she was going to use would have much affect if hit Sabrina anyway since she didn’t have her wand anymore. Scarlett popped out from behind the wall and aimed well. “Exspeliarmus!” she shouted. Her aim was true and spell shot around Sabrina.

Annie smirked as the wand the birds had brought her was knocked out of her hands by a well-aimed spell. Sadly, she still had her own wand. Annie's eyes sought out the girl who had aimed the spell and her smirk rested for a moment before coming back onto her face. "Well... Looks like we have stumbled upon some company." Annie wasn't worried.

Chase saw one wand blast out of Annie's hand and felt himself moving to pick it up. He held it tightly in his hands and looked around. He knew what was going on, but the curse was in control of him, and in turn, so was Annie. He could speak, he could move his lips, but only the words that Annie wanted to hear would come out. "Just move out of the way." His voice came out, but he hadn't spoken. The curse was strong, scary strong.

Annie patted the boy on the head and put up a shield charm around herself, not him, her. She didn't want to fight, she wasn't in the mood. Annie's eyes followed a large spider that was crawling on the wall and she aimed her long black wand at it. She wasn't interested in the scene around her. "Avada Kedavra." It was whispered. It was creepy. The spider fell to the ground. Dead.

Scarlett knew power when she saw it and she didn’t really want to fight either, especially after Annie’s none to subtle warning with the spider. “You can go,” Scarlett said haughtily, lifting her chin, “but I will not allow you to take him.” Scarlett readied a shield charm and began thinking about fire. She wanted to be prepared for whatever Annie threw at her. Meanwhile Bella circled in the shadows so that she would be in a position to strike from behind.

Annie laughed slightly. "I'm sorry, I believe I misunderstood you." Her gaze saw the cat only a bit, but she didn't act upon it. "I thought I just heard you forbid me, me, to take along my little companion here." Annie put one hand on Chase's shoulder. "Who would you rather I took dear?" Her smirk appeared again and she became more cautious of the cat. "Also, you may want to tell your kitty to behave dear."

Chase's body had turned as the cat had moved and he kept his eyes on it. He tried to move something, anything to show that he knew what was happening, but all that happened was he moved Sabrina's wand in his hand, as if waiting for an OK.

"Yes I forbid you." Scarlett said. The look in her eyes were implacable. Every bit of her blue blood Southern pride was up. "I belong here and so does he. You do not, so you may go. But he stays. And the cat does what she wants which is usually to go for the eyes." Scarlett hoped to get a reaction from Annie. Some small niche that she could slip a spell into.

Annie smiled. It had turned from a smirk to a smile so quickly. Almost as if it had never been a smirk at all. "From your accent dear, I would say that he is the one out of the two of you that belongs here." Annie remembered when she had gone to Hogwarts, where everybody sounded the same, came from the same place. Where almost everyone was partially the same blood. "The eyes hm?" Annie moved the shield a bit, she wasn't scared for the boy, but she wanted to move the shield. As it wrapped around her like an invisible cloak she cracked her neck. "Well... I'll just have to watch out for those shan't I?"

Chase continued to move as Bella did and his voice came out again, but again, it wasn't him. "But I want to go. Why can't I go Miss Annie?"

"Oh, you can my dear." To have a conversation with someone under your control was pitied to say the least, but it didn't matter. "Don't you see dear?" She spoke to Scarlett again. "He wants to go with me."

"It's narrow minded thinkin' like that defeats your kind everytime." Scarlett let the anger from the woman's implied dig feed the flames rising up her throat, but she did not let it cloud her judgement. She hoped that the woman had fallen for her bluff. Because she could see that Bella was poised to spring.

Sure enough Annie had brought her shield up like a cloak, and just like a cloak will sometimes do, her shield left her ankle exposed. Bella pounced and sunk her cat fangs into the woman's acheles tendon. She howled with rage and pain and kicked at Bella who flew twisting in the air over the balcony.

Just as Bella began her attack Scarlett barreled into Chase hopefully knocking him backwards into the ROR where she slammed the door shut.

Chase's head hit the wall hard before he found himself in the Room Of Requirements again. His hand grabbed Scarlett's arm and he fell, making her go down with him. He moved his hand from her arm to his head automatically and he found Scarlett almost completely on top of him. "Sorry..." Frig. That hurt. There was a dull throbbing coming from the top of his head and he heard Annie shrieking at Bella. "My head hurts." He said lightly.

Annie got the cat off of her at last. "I hate cats..." She huffed. The cat started over the balcony and she shook her head. "Immobulus!" She pointed her wand at the cat who froze in mid-air. Annie picked up the cat from the air and put it on the ground. "Lucky I'm not that mad..." She said to the frozen thing before she turned back to the room that had disappeared. Of coarse! Now that she realized where she was, she knew exactly what the room was. The Room Of Requirements.

Chase rubbed his head again. "As if the imperius curse wasn't enough, did you really have to bash my head against the wall?" He was a bit annoyed, but if he hadn't been in pain he would have been much nicer.

“Well I’ll try to be careful of you precious head the next time I save you’re-“ Scarlett was saying indignantly as she tried to get up. She was interrupted by a sound from outside that chilled her blood.

“Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty. Where is the brave little lioness not that I’ve got her precious Kitty?”

Scarlett was almost frozen with terror. She was still sprawled on top of Chase, but she could care less. “She has Bella!” Scarlett hissed as she grabbed the lapels of Chases robes and shook him none too gently to help clear his head. “We have to do something now!”

Chase heard the call, then it came again. His upper body moved a bit as she shook him and, though he was tempted to laugh, he kept a straight face. "Okay. Here's what will do... First, you'll get off me. Then, we stand up. Then..." He paused. "Then we'll come up with a decent plan."

Scarlett’s legs were shaking so bad she didn’t even try to get up. She just rolled of Chase. She wanted to slap him, but she figured a fight would not save Bella any faster. Using the door she managed to stand and face Chase. “Ok insert brilliant plan here. Bella saved you, now it’s time for you to return the favor.”

Chase didn't stand immediately but gripped his head for a moment. It was either pain or thought, but whichever it was, the pain was definitely there as well. "I'll go out." Chase looked through his pockets for a moment but sighed. "It's gone..." He had brewed some pollyjuice potion to get some extra marks in Potions but he didn't seem to have it on him anymore. His eyes moved across the floor and came upon the little vial. "Don't happen to have someone else's hairs do you?" He meant someone other than the two of them.

“No, but seeing two of me might be even more distracting than just seeing a new face.” Scarlett plucked out one of her wavy midnight hairs. She hesitated a bit as she was handing it to Chase for basically she was giving him possession of her body for the duration of the spell. Scarlett gritted her teeth and extended her hand all the way. She would do anything to save Bella.

Chase noted the fact that it was painful for Scarlett to do what she was doing and it made him think a lot more of her than he had before. He was the kind of guy who would do anything, no matter how painful, for an animal or creature as well. Even if this was just a case of the pets. Chase nodded. "I suppose..." He said, taking the hair after a moment. Chase heard Annie from outside again.

"Gryffindors aren't as they were." She spoke in a way that made a shiver go down his spine. "They used to be brave."

“Hurry Chase,” Scarlett said through gritted teeth. Her pride and her sense of modesty were being sorely tested at the moment but she was willing to put both aside for Bella. “As soon as you’ve changed we’ll rush her from different sides. You left me right. It will be harder for her to defend two sides. We just have to make sure she doesn’t hurt Bella. Good thing she’s not really big enough to use as a shield.”
