Title: GREEN BEER!
Description: that must mean it St Paddy's Day
ladeeknight - March 18, 2008 02:39 PM (GMT)
Scarlett was excited. She had talked to Dream and found that she was allowed to sell liquor. Scarlett thought the perfect day to celebrate this momentous occasion was on St. Patrick’s Day. She had ordered two kegs of green beer and ten pounds of candied shamrocks from Ireland. She had also found luminous never bursting balloons in the joke shop and picked out all the green ones. They were tied to little pots of leprechaun gold as centerpieces on all the tables and casting an alien glow over everything.
Scarlett herself was wearing an emerald green blouse with little lace-edged cap sleeves. She wore a knee length white skirt made of starched lennon that was fluffed out with different colored petticoats. Over it was an apron embroidered with Celtic knots in all the colors of the petticoats. Scarlett wore a matching kerchief in her hair. She thought she looked like an Irish lass, her emerald eyes sparkling with excitement as she waited to see who would join her to celebrate the luckiest day of the year.

Emma had been on her way to one of the local pubs, thinking that there would be some sort of celebration for St. Patricks Day. Not being a pure Irish girl, she didn't know all of the beliefs but she did quickly find out that day that if you aren't wearing green then you would get pinched. She hadnt even made it out of the Ravey common room, before she turned around and grabbed a green T.
Being a quick learner, she now wore a silver lace cami with a green short sleeve shirt that tied in the back. She had on a pair of ripped jeans, brown clogs and a green headband that held back her brown, shoulder-length, straight hair.
She had been walking by Madame Padfoots, when she noticed that there looked to be like a St. Patty's day celebration inside. Opening the door to the store, she stepped in..and let out a low.."Wow..." before noticing Scarlett standing nearby. "Hey!" she said, "Happy St. Patrick's Day!"
ladeeknight - March 24, 2008 02:19 PM (GMT)
“Hey Emma, Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you too.” Scarlett responded getting down both a mug and a glass and turning to smile brightly at Emma. Scarlett knew that Emma would not want any green beer. “Would you like your water warm in a mug or cold in a glass. We are in that in between weather right now so I don’t know what you’re feeling. I am so glad someone stopped by. I thought I would be celebrating alone this year.”
Emma Potter - March 24, 2008 10:54 PM (GMT)
Emma smiled at Scarlett when she remembered that Emma didnt drink alcohol. "Umm..cold water, please. Or actually I can drink hot since you already got the mug out." she said, not wanting to cause Scarlett to much trouble.
"Oh we wouldnt let you celebrate by yourself." she said with a grin. "Are you part Irish?" she asked.

“To be sure I am,” Scarlett said with a slight brogue, “Me da’s mam came over from the Old Country when she was a lass.” Scarlett laughed at her affected speech. She took the kettle off simmer and poured Emma mug of warm water. She turned back to her friend sliding the mug across the counter. “Have you ever been to Ireland? I never have, but I would really like to go. We are so close here in England that I am hopin’ to get a chance to take a trip before I graduate.”
Emma Potter - March 25, 2008 08:26 PM (GMT)
Smiling, Em took her drink and held it in her hands, feeling the warmth coming from the hot water. Then, she slowly took a drink while Scarlett talked. Emma tried not to laugh while having the water in her mouth while Scarlett used her Irish accent. It wasn't bad, just different and something she wasnt use to coming out of Scarlett's mouth.
When Scarlett asked if she had ever been there, Emma responded by saying.."No, I havent. I would love to go thought, I heard it's beautiful." then, taking another sip of her water, she added.."Oh and thanks for the water!"

“You’re quite welcome,” Scarlett said. “Would you like to try some candied shamrocks? I ordered them from a candy shop in Ireland called the Pot ‘o Chocolate. It claimed to be run by leprechauns.” Scarlett laughed as she popped one of the little green shamrocks into her mouth. “Um it tastes kinda minty.” She held out her hand to offer one to Emma.
Emma Potter - March 27, 2008 12:44 AM (GMT)
"Leprechauns? No way..that's pretty cool." she said picking up one of the candy pieces from Scarlett's hand and popping it into her mouth. It was like an explosion of mint had erupted in her mouth. "Woah.." she said after she swallowed..."Those would definitely fix any bad breath." she said jokingly.

As soon of the words were out of Emma’s mouth there was a small explosion of green smoke and a tiny man with a beard, but no mustache sporting a green bowler hat that matched his green jacket popped into being. “Bless me, but I must have died and gone to heave to have two such lovely angles stadin’ before me.” His brouge was no joke and very thick.
Scarlett couldn’t help but laugh as his ginger colored whiskers waggled when he talked. “Welcome to Madam Padfoots’ sir,” Scarlett said politely as if he were any other guest. She had the feeling that she was entertaining a leprechaun, but he would get the same excellent service as anyone else that came through her door. “Shall I get you a menu or do you know what you want?”
Emma Potter - March 28, 2008 09:33 PM (GMT)
Emma gasped slightly when green smoke appeared and another person stood in front of them, complimenting them immediately. Glancing over at Scarlett, Emma gave a hesitant smile towards the male. "Well hello Sir, you are very lucky, for you have just appeared in one of the best restaurants in the area." she said with a welcoming smile, ignoring the voice in her head that wanted her to be pre-cautious.

"I can tell that I have, by the smilin' faces on the customers," the strange little man said to Emma before he ordered a pint of green beer from Scarlett. "Did I hear someone wishin' to see the Emerald Isle?" he asked as he took a deep swig of the drink Scarlett delievered to him.
"Well we were speculatin' about when we might get to go," Scarlett answered carefully. She was sure now that she conversed with a leprecaune and she knew that they granted wishes in a strange ways. Being Fey folk they were not completely trustworthy, but for the same reason Scarlett treated him with careful respect.

Emma eyes grew wider with excitement after every word the man said. "You know a way of getting us to Emerald Isle!" she said loudly with excitement. Realizing how loud she said it, she quickly put her hands over her mouth and let out a soft giggle.

There was a loud crash from the kitchens and Scarlett went to go see what had happened.
The leprechaun looked at Emma his eyes crinkling with laughter. “That I do lassie. All ya have ta do is wish for it, and I can take ya there.”

Emma watched as Scarlett left the room. Em hoped she would come back soon, because she did not want to be totally left alone with the leprechaun. "Ok, well then I wish you could take Scarlett and I there." she said, phrasing the sentence carefully. She had heard of stories when she was younger that leprechauns could be very manipulating and looking for loop holes.

Scarlett was had just walked into the kitchen to see her chef covered in flour and eggs. She didn’t even have to ask him what had happened as she felt the ground open up below her feet and she was sliding on refracted light. She landed in a heap at the foot a rainbow and not far away she saw Emma. “What the –“
Emma Potter - April 20, 2008 02:51 PM (GMT)
As soon as Emma had finished her sentence, the leprechaun had smiled and the floor had opened up. She then slid down a rainbow and dropped onto grass. "Oww.." she said rubbing her back. Standing up she looked around. So the leprechaun had brought them to Emerald Isle. She began looking around for Scarlett, hoping she wasnt here alone. She then heard Scarlett's voice, and say "What the-". Grinning Emma finished her sentence "Heck."
ladeeknight - April 21, 2008 05:06 PM (GMT)
“Yes heck. That’s just what I was goin’ to say,” Scarlett said, glad Emma had rescued her from what she was really going to say which would have been quite unladylike. She stared in wonder and the gentle rolling green hills, as far as she could see. Then she remembered how she had gotten there Scarlett turned on the leprechaun, hands on hips, “Why have you brought us here? And don’t give me any bs about ‘showin’ bonny lassies the Emerald Isle.’ I know that leprechauns don’t waste there wishes unless they have to, or unless they want something.”
OoC: Hey Emma thanks for coming with me on this little ride. I don’t really have a plan in mind so if you want to answer this my question for the leprechaun go right ahead. :P
Emma Potter - April 27, 2008 08:38 PM (GMT)
Emma watched the leprechaun closely as Scarlett questioned him. She had read in a book from school that if you stared a leprechaun down, then they could not vanish, and the last thing Emma wanted was for the leprechaun to vanish and leave them in Ireland.
"Why Miss, I'm just a poor old leprechaun. I be havin' nothing in my pockets." he answered, pulling out his pockets to show nothing.
"So then why did you bring us out here?" Emma asked, not believing that was all the leprechaun had to say.
The leprechaun glanced over her before reaching behind his neck and pulling off a necklace that had a silver key hanging from it. "Here is the key misses. Use if wisely, I need my gold back by the end of the day.". With a sharp cackle, he disappeared, leaving a key in Emma's hands.
Glancing up at Scarlett, she gave a small grin.."So what do we do now?". Looking down at the spot where the leprechaun was, Emma saw a small note left. On the piece of paper, lightly was scribbled:
8th Market Street
OOC: How's that. A little quest for gold, eh? :P
ladeeknight - April 28, 2008 05:33 PM (GMT)
OoC: Sounds good to me.
Scarlett watched as Emma talked to the Leprechaun. She was a bit surprised when he disappeared because Emma seemed to be doing a pretty good job of pinning with her gaze. “Well I guess we should find a town or city that has an 8th Market street to start,” Scarlett said looking at the note.
Scarlett gazed around at the beautiful hills they were standing in. Far in the distance she could see roof tops. “Did you happen to bring your broom?” Scarlett asked retrieving her own shrunken Shooting Star from her apron pocket. “I hope that is the town that has the Market Street we need,” she continued pointing.
Emma Potter - April 28, 2008 07:27 PM (GMT)
Emma frowned,
"I don't know if I put it in this morning.." she said, fidgeting with her pockets till she found her silver wallet. Opening it up, she looked, shuffling through several things. Ever since she figured out the spell that allows you to enlarge things for storage, she had been using it a ton.
"Found it." she said, pulling it out, and mounting it.
"That town?" she asked, pointing to a village over the hills. She wanted to know where she was going before she shot off on her firebolt.
ladeeknight - May 6, 2008 03:40 PM (GMT)
Scarlett enlarged her broom and mounted it side saddle as she always did. “It’s over there on our right,” she said to Emma pointing again. “You kind of have to squint to see it.” An alarming thought occurred to Scarlett, What if Emma can’t see the town?! Scarlett wasn’t sure what that would mean, but she knew that tales of Ireland were generally filled with magic and they were on quest from a leprechaun…
Emma Potter - June 16, 2008 11:40 PM (GMT)
Emma couldnt exactly see the town, but it was probably just from her angle. "How about I just follow you." she said, wondering how Scarlett felt secure riding side sattle on her broom. Leaning forward slightly, she aimed her broom up towards the sky and shot up, hovering several feet from her Scarlett.
