As Alfie walked into the Owlery she began looking for some paper or partchment in her pack.

She just had to know how things where at home seeings another ice storm was heading their way.

Leo said that if Alfie had to go and help she wanted to go along.

Finding some paper Alfie scribled a note to her family. As Alfie started to fasten the note and owl came in and dropped a letter at her feet.

Taking the ltter and opening it up Alfie began to read.

Dear Ms Herbs,

Alfie looked at the front of the letter for it started out all wrong to have come from a family member.

The front of the letter was addressed like this.

From: Ice Storm Releif Comm.
Tulsa, Ok

To: Ms. Alferretta Herbs
Hogwarts

Alfie scratched her head and wondered how they knew how to contact her.

Turning back to the letter she read:

Dear Ms. Herbs,

We are in need of your help again. If you could please come and help the people in the outlying areas to survive the cold and lack of food and medicine we would be very graetful.

All of our supplies are low from the last storm and we have been unable to restock.

Please hurry.

Truely in your debt,
Head of Ice Storm Releif
Kenneth l. Storm.

Leona raced up the stairs of the tower that led to the owlry. She had woken up in the middle of the night and noticed that Alfie wasn't in her bed. She looked over at kirk and asked him if he knew where she went. He tilted his head in a no. Leo got out of bed and went over to hers and thought for a moment when the answer hit her, the owlry. she was talking about the USA before she went to bed, maybe she went to see if she got a letter. When she finally made it to the top Leo walked in slowly as to not disturb her and waited for her to notice she had arrived.

alrerretta - February 16, 2008 01:16 AM (GMT)
Alfie shock her head as she finished reading the letter.

"Well I guess I'll head out tomorrow. I wonder if Leono really wants to go with me?" Alfie said as she turned around.

"Oh Leona, did you mean what you said about helping if the ice storm hit my home town again?"

Alfie started to scribble a notice to send to Kenneth l. Storm as she waited for Leona to answer.

sailorleo - February 16, 2008 01:23 AM (GMT)
"Yup, sure did," Leo said with a smile and could tell from the expression on her face that she had a reason to believe that the storm would hit, "It's Ok Alfie, I'll be careful, I've dealt with freezing conditions before and besides it'll be easier this time, knowing what you know now, and the fact that there's two of us, PLUS I'm an excellent hunter," she added all in one breath

alrerretta - February 16, 2008 01:53 AM (GMT)
Alfie smiled with great happiness at what Leona had said.

"I do well in any kind of weather but not when there are over 200 people that need help.I hope that there aren't many more then last time but I have packed the packs with enough food to feed 200 peopl for 3 monthes each."

Alfie then finished her letter and made a point in telling Mr.Storm that she was bring someone else with here that would be help the strandred.

Alfie then quickly gave one of the school owls it and said, "make sure no one sees you and drop it on the front porch so Mr. Storm will find it then ring the bell and knock on the door."

Watching the owl take off Alfie then turned t Leona.

"Are you ready to go to our room and get the packs so we can be on our way?" Alfie asked Leona.

sailorleo - February 16, 2008 02:06 AM (GMT)
"I can accio them," Leo said pulling out her wand and did so. "are you ready?" She inquired then began to wonder how long she would be away for this, not that she minded "Oh I better right notes." She added and pulled out a quill and paper and began writing notes to Dream, Remy and Dalejin telling them where she was going and she'd write once she got there. She sent off her owl with them just as their backs showed up.

alrerretta - February 16, 2008 02:13 AM (GMT)
Alfie know that she needed to make one last check to make sure that they had everything they would need. She didn't want to find that she had forgotten anything.

As the packs showed up Alfie pulled out her check list from her pocket and then looked at Leo.

"I'll check this pack and you check that one. I'll mark off each thing as we find them in the packs, Ok?" Alfie asked Leo.

Alfie knew that Leo was wanting to get going but safety first.

sailorleo - February 16, 2008 02:18 AM (GMT)
"Ok," Leo said as she opened up her pack and began reciting what she found in it, and knowing alfie they could be at it for a long time, considering she brought enough supplies to feed 200 people for three months. Le cringed at having to pack all that, she didn't know how alfie did it,

alrerretta - February 16, 2008 02:39 AM (GMT)
Alfie looked at her list and pulled out a set os scales to wieght the different foods.

"Let's see we each should have 15 pounds of dehydrated Chicken, turkey, beef and pork. Do you have that much in yours, Leona?" Alfie weighted hers and found that she did.

"Well that's 60 pounds of meat each and now the veggies. We should each have 90 pound of that."

They did. "100 yards of plastic, and 1 large medicine kit in each. 300 shrunken blankets and thermal under garments."

Alfie checked them off her list. "Oh I almost forgot the water purifying tablets. It;s hard when you are helping Muggles. We have to be careful not to let them see us use magic. Things would bemcuh more simple if you didn't have to."

Alfie then said after she put the last of her things back into her pack, "Well I think we Have every thing. Can you think of anything I forgot, Leona?"

sailorleo - February 16, 2008 02:53 AM (GMT)
Leona looked at Alfie and quickly began weighing all the items she was rambling off and when they were finished Leo looked at her and said, "well what about blankets and warm clothing? How are we handling that?" Leo wondered out loud and repacked everything in her pack.

alrerretta - February 16, 2008 03:06 AM (GMT)
Alfie looked at Leona and said, "That is what the shrunken blackets are for. The muggles have found a way to pull all the air out of things and make them smaller so they look shrunken. I just improved upon their idea. As for clothes most of them have clothes but a lot of them are wet do to the storm riping holes into their roofs and the like. That is why we have plastic to put over the holes that maybe in their houses. I also try to get the people to go to the largest house in the area so that it is easier to heat and no one gets lost."

Alfie then took a second and said, "I forgot extra clothes for us. If we get stuck we will need to change clothes ourselves."

Alfie quickly wave her wand and said, "Accio Alfie and Leona's warm clothes, including socks."

sailorleo - February 16, 2008 03:17 AM (GMT)
Leona nodded and once their clothes showed up she packed them away and looked at her, "ok, I think we're really ready to go now," she said excited. She had never been to the USA except for her tours and she was confined to the stage and her hotel for the most part, she was really glad to get out.

alrerretta - February 16, 2008 03:49 AM (GMT)
Alfie packed her clothes and saw that Leo had done the same. As Leo said that she as ready, Alfie then said,

"Well we need to get off the grounds so we can use the floo network. My dad has our house hooked to it, seeings he is a wizard."

When they reached Hogsmead Alfie went to the Hogshead and used the green powder that would let them go to her fathers house and from there they would have to travel on foot. Thank goodness they would be only one state away.

Alfie had moved in with her older muggle halfsister Jane so she didn't have access to the floo network. Besides her halfsister lived in Tulsa which Alfie and Leo would be going to the country area. That was where the help was needed.

Alfie hated to think of Jane as a halfsister but that was the way Jane wanted it.
