A couple years back (3 or 4 years), us older members were talking about meeting.. in person.. in some random country. Well, at least I think we were talking about that.

So, I think that it would be really cool if we all picked a country, flew there, and spent a week or something there. Obviously it won't happen this year, and we can't send a 14 year old to Uganda or something, but still.

I'm planning on going to France when I'm 19, so I'm saving for that. Maybe we could all save for 3 or 4 years, then meet in a country we choose. It could be really cool.

What do you guys think? Obviously it'll need a lot of planning, but it can still work.

I didn't vote, and here's why: While I'm not adverse to meeting people I know from online in real life, the logistical problems of getting a bunch of us together would be huge. The only reason I've met half my online writers' group in person is because we've been to the same HWA, WGA and World Horror conventions and the like. Also, people come and go around here a lot. Many of us probably won't still be around in three or four years, so it would be nearly pointless to plan something that far out.

That said, if I ever realize my aspiration of writing a best-selling novel, I would post a tour itenerary here, and would be happy to see some of you guys at readings and signings--maybe even meet for coffee or something. And yes, I do mean coffee; I don't drink, which really makes me an oddball at those aforementioned writers' cons.

Ok, I forgot that very few people stick. Hmmm... but still.

And Sil, if you do become a best-selling author, I'm sorry but I'm not going to fly to America to get a book signed; you can fly to lovely *cough* South Africa and sign the book :P
