Title: The Deadly Sins*
Description: **Closed** Feel free to read though
Logan Devonwood - January 31, 2008 08:52 PM (GMT)
OOC: Okay, seeing as there are only 7 sins, there can only be 7 members of this thread. I'll update the count list anytime I log in, so if there is an available space feel free to take it.
Now about the thread: Everyone has a quality they aren't exactly proud of. The deadly sins bring out that discomfort. In this thread, the characters are going to discover their own sin, and face the [ironic] consequences. For example: If your sin was gluttony, you are always hungry/in love with food. So, the direct consequence could be that you become massive.
So now it's kind of a battle to prove that you are better than your sin.
Nothing serious is really going to happen until we have the 7 representatives.
The List:
Sin......................Person
Vanity.................Logan
Lust....................Scarlett
Wrath.................Cassie
Sloth..................Emma
Envy...................Remy
Gluttony..............Dream
Greed..................Melie
Logan walked into the library after checking his reflection in the window. He grinned, deciding that he was really having an amazing hair day. He waved to a few first year girls that were giggling and pretending to be focused while sneaking occasional glances. He strolled by their table and began walking down near the restricted section. Originally, his intentions were to try and find a way to get through without a special pass. However, his attention was caught by an old weathered book that was just a row before the restricted section. It was hanging over the case.
Deciding to indulge in his new found curiosity, Logan walked over and grabbed the book. He glanced around to see if anyone else was coming by. When he was sure that the area was clear, he opened up the first page of the book. The Deadly Sins was written in big bold letters on the first page of the book. Logan thought back to when he had learned about the sins. He knew that there were seven, but he didn’t really know what they entailed. He hadn’t been paying any attention that day.
“Let’s take a look.” He mumble to himself, and flipped through the pages until he began finding the chapters. One devoted to each sin. “Vanity” was the first chapter he came across, so he began reading.
"Vanity, or 'pride' to some, is the sin of being always trying to be more important or more attractive than others.. The sinner will constantly be making sure that they look better than everyone else, and will even form negative opinions about those who they do not feel look as well as they should. Often boastful, they will be blunt about how they feel about themselves and others. This is considered to be the most serious sin. The excess of self love leads to damnation."
Logan snorted. He was actually rather boastful. Especially when it came to appearance. But he really couldn’t help that he just had high self esteem about himself. “Since when is that a sin?” He asked sarcastically.
OOC: Info comes straight from Wikipedia :D

Cassie was a Slytherin. She was a spitfire. She was competitive. And she never was able to control her anger. She was angry as anthing right now. She wanted to take her anger out on who such and everyone. She slamemd her fist into the wall and stromed into the library. Sighing deeeply she stomped past Madame Pince, glaring at anyone who crossed her path. Everything had justb bubbled over and she was ready to explode. She saw Logan at a table and sat down with him.
She sent him a malicious smirk that only LOgan would only know to mean Hello. She saw another girl pass him and glance appreciativly at which she glared. "What are you reading" she asked hitting her forehead gently. She looked over at him and saw Vanity splayed across the page. "Doin a little research"
Logan Devonwood - January 31, 2008 09:58 PM (GMT)
Logan looked up when he heard the rather annoyed voice of his friend Cassie. He gave her a sympathetic smile. She did seem to be rather pissed off. Even more so as a second year girl strolled by his table. He gave her a small wave and then put the book down and looked up at Cassie.
"Sort of. I guess you could call it that. I found a book on the 'Deadly Sins'. We learned about them eons ago back home. But they are rather fascinating. It's as though they shape your entire personality. For example, under this one, 'Vanity', it says that the sinner is really into their own looks, they are known to be shallow, and they are boastful. That...well, that kind of describes me. I'm not that shallow, but I mean, I know I have been before." He shrugged.
For some fun, Logan slid the book over to Cassie. "Go on and give it a whirl. Think one can describe you?" He teased, but grinned soon after just so she'd know he was joking. As she glanced down at the book, Logan took a moment to fix a problem area on the left side of his head. One piece just kept sticking out no matter what he tried to do with it.

Scarlett climbed the stairs to the library pouting. It seems that someone had been complaining about the couples at Hogwarts and the administration had decided that stricter adherence to the dress code might help alleviate the perceived problem. So it was that Filch had been in the hallway with a ruler measuring girls’ skirts. Scarlett had come up short and she had been assigned an essay on the dress code at Hogwarts.
Scarlett didn’t really see what the big fuss was about. She wore a long drapey robe over her clothes for most of the day, so no one could see that her skirt only reached mid thigh. The clickity clack of her spike patent leather high heels punctuated the silence in the library as she sauntered across the lobby. Scarlett figured if she was going to be punished for something she (and others) might as well enjoy it. She undid her long black school robe and swept it off, slinging it over her black leather prada bag in one fluid movement and continued on to the dusty shelves where things like rule books were kept.
Many heads turned as she went by, proving that what Scarlett was wearing was indeed distracting, but she smiled to herself thoroughly enjoying the attention. Scarlett had often been accused of being a flirt. At her old school she had had a string of beaux that she kept constantly jumping through hoops. Now that she was at Hogwarts and had made real friendships with both guys and girls she wouldn’t dream of flirting with other girls’ boyfriends and causing the kind of ruckus that she used to.
As Scarlett wandered the shelves her mind wandered the past and she sighed a bit. It seemed that things were the same all over, “Scarlett don’t dance so close to that boy, Scarlett don’t kiss that boy, Scarlett that shirt is too low cut, Scarlett don’t wear that skirt so short…” It went on in an endless litany through her mind and she had had enough. Scarlett needed better company than these old books or she would go mad. She spied Logan across the room preening for some girls who were staring at him and she decided she would do her essay later.
As Scarlett drew closer she noticed that Logan was with Cassie, who looked as angry as ever. Scarlett wondered what the girl was so mad about all the time and figured her childish behavior was acting out. She caught the end of what Logan asked Cassie and she smiled at them, “My turn next after Cassie, after the day I’ve had I know exactly what sin must be mine, or at least the one that everyone’s trying to pin on me.”
Logan Devonwood - February 1, 2008 06:28 PM (GMT)
OOC: I just edited my reading of the sin post. I looked up the definition on wikipedia and found some good edits to my own description. Just a heads up for those that still need to get the book.
BIC: While Logan found himself basking in the younger girls' attention, he found that his own was being taken by Scarlett. The girl was wearing a skirt that was shorter than most girls. She had on heels, which he was not used to seeing, considering most girls adhered to a stricter flat-shoe code. The way Scarlett was walking though, it was like she wanted people to notice. Jaw-dropping, Logan watched as she strolled over to the table. He was slightly taken aback by her looks. But then he remembered that he still had his own set of admirers.
He nodded when she reached the table. Logan did have to stifle a laugh though when she began to talk about the sin that was being accused of. It was a bit obvious to him now anyway. While he wouldn't go so far as to call Scarlett "promiscuous", he did notice that she had a certain way with boys. He had at one point liked the girl, that was before he met Emilie of course.
As Cassie began to read up on the sin of choice, Logan's posse began to depart. They needed to finish up their work in order to go to a quidditch practice for their house. He was a little upset that he was being left in favor of something so dull, but he just gave them one of his flawless grins, and watched their swoons as they giggled and walked back to the table.
CassieWink - February 1, 2008 09:21 PM (GMT)
Cassie smirked maliciously as Scarlett came by. She lflipped the book around and ran her hand over the yellow pages. "books gotta be over 400 years old' she muttered. The letters were faded as she read over Logans. She looked up and sneered at him. "Well Logan, were you sitting in front of this person while the book was written" she said. She began to flip through the book watching the color of the print change and hearing the book creak ever so slightly. As she reached Wrath the tugged the hem of her black shirta and let it falll back over her black ripped pant with red leggings underneath. Her two favorite colors. She lowered her eys to the book and began to read slowly.
Wrath may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger. These feelings can manifest as vehement denial of the truth, both to others and in the form of self-denial, impatience with the procedure of law, and the desire to seek revenge outside of the workings of the justice system (such as engaging in vigilantism) and generally wishing to do evil or harm to others. The transgressions borne of vengeance are among the most serious, including murder, assault, and in extreme cases, genocide. Wrath is the only sin not necessarily associated with selfishness or self interest (although one can of course be wrathful for selfish reasons, such as jealousy). Described vengeance as "love of justice perverted to revenge and spite".
Cassie rolled her eyes. "Since when is being revengeful bad. Gets you where you need to go. Sometimes anger is good" she said muttering. She sent a smirk towards Scarlett and grinned. She closed the book and held the spine. In one quick motion she slid it towards Scarlett.n "Lets see what suprises the book holds for you...but nothng should be asuprise now" she said sarcastically faking a grin at her. She resumed to slouching in her seat and glaring angrily t first years.
ladeeknight - February 1, 2008 10:58 PM (GMT)
Scarlett put her hand down on the book to stop it’s forward momentum and a jolt shot up her arm. Then she did something that she would not normally do, she sat down in Logan’s lap grinning at him wickedly. “You don’t mind if I borrow this spot, do you?” she asked her drawl almost a purr.
Emma Potter - February 1, 2008 11:37 PM (GMT)
OOC: I am switching to Envy.
REMY-SALINAS - February 2, 2008 01:24 AM (GMT)
Remy was sitting by himself trying to get some of his work done when he was distracted by the sound of laughter. He turned his head and saw Logan "ahh so thats why there doing that" he thought to himself as he remembered when it was him they did that too. "guess im yesterdays garbage" he thought as he crumpled up his paper. He walked over to Logan and his little posse and grinned "so whats going on over here?" he asked as he put his book bag on the floor next to a chair.
OOC: emma i think sloth suits you more than does gluttony but thats just me
Logan Devonwood - February 2, 2008 01:53 AM (GMT)
Logan was a bit speechless when Scarlett took a seat on his lap. He tried to get words out, but nothing was coming out. Eventually he just nodded and turned his head to see the book being sent back over to his side of the table. Coming back to his senses and regaining his voice, Logan smirked at Cassie. "Wrath, huh? I should've figured." He teased her, and moved the book closer.
"It's your go, Sc-Scarlett." He grinned. Boy wouldn't this be interesting if Emilie walked in, Logan bit his lower lip hoping that nothing bad would come of this. Besides, Scarlett did have a boyfriend. He was both intrigued and put off by her beauty. In one sense, she did always put herself together, but then again, Logan was also foolishly blinded by the idea that he was supposed to be the best.
While Scarlett looked up her sin of choice in the book, Logan tried to counter his positive's against any negatives she had. Catching himself in the process, Logan tried to get back to his senses. But they were just telling him over and over again Be the best, be the best. Luckily, Remy strolled by in time to distract Logan from his own thoughts.
"Oh hey Remy. I found an old book on the Deadly Sins. We were just looking up some of the familiar sounding ones, if you catch my drift."
Emma Potter - February 2, 2008 01:58 AM (GMT)
OOC: Ok so I switched to Envy!
BIC: Emma walked past the filch screening test, and got very annoyed that her skirt was to short. "It's only 1 inch to short." she argued, along with a couple other selected words. Rolling her eyes, she figured she would try something. "Sir, I understand the rules but, couldnt you just over look the rules. Just this one time." she said, cocking her head slightly to the side, and puttng on her best smile. Eventually, he let her pass.
As she headed into the library, she noticed Scarlett sitting on Logan's lap, wearing a short skirt. Jealousy bubbled up inside of her. Grinning to herself, she turned and went around the library, approaching her friends from behind Logan. "Hey Logan." she said, letting her hand gently slide across his shoulders as she walked by him. "Hey guys." she added, as she stood there.
"What's up with this new skirt rule?" she asked, glancing down at Scarlett's skirt. "What would make them do that? Do people have a problem with our skirts?"
Logan Devonwood - February 2, 2008 02:51 AM (GMT)
Emma's dramatic entrance was not all too surprising to Logan. They shared a room, so he had heard his fair share of drama. He did look up and gave Emma a sympathetic look. "You alright there, Em?" He did feel for her about the skirt issue. Some people just didn't understand the importance of looking good. Especially that Filch, Logan rolled his eyes. He set his focus on Emma for the time being.
"Your skirt is nice Em, don't listen to that old guy. What does he know? I mean, look at him! I bet you he only rotates the same three outfits in his wardrobe and showers once a month. If we're lucky that is." He smiled. He did feel a little better knocking someone else down. Logan shifted back a little in his seat hoping not to disturb Scarlett. "Besides, he's so dirty."
Glancing at the book, Logan waited for Scarlett to read out her passage. "We're passing a book of the deadly sins. Care to join?"
ladeeknight - February 2, 2008 03:07 AM (GMT)
Scarlett opened the book somewhere in the middle and sure enough there was the sin she was expecting to see. There on the page preceeded by a big red L all intwined with serpents was the definition of lust. She read aloud:
"Lust: This is the sin of havin' an inordinate and intense longin' or appetite for something such as money, or the pleasures of the flesh. It is often manifested in a self-destructive drive for some pleasure regardless of it's value, merit, or legality."
Scarlett had never really seen the whole definition written out like that. It fit her better than she thought. She had never had any regard for rules, and mostly did anything she did because it was fun. Take for instance sitting on Logan's lap. That look of shocked surprised coupled with pleased acceptanc and all tinged with a hint of danger sent a thrill through Scarlett like nothing else.
She looked up at Remy and arched on shapely black brow at him mischievously. "You can have your turn with the book next, if that is what you covet." The words almost seemed to drip from Scarlett's shiney red mouth as she offered the book to him.
OoC:Emma i think that was a very slothy post, but you should change inches to centimeters when discribing your skirt or someone might think you are naked.
dreamdancer7699 - February 2, 2008 03:35 AM (GMT)
Dream walked into the library humming softly to herself. She was in a pretty good mood today. Nothing had happened too dramatic, which was a change because usually every day was either completely dramatic or totally boring. She saw a group of her friends all gathered around and that Remy was with them as well so she made her way over to them. "Hey guys." she said as she stood next to Remy and wrapped her arm around his waist. "Whatcha doin?" she asked curiously as she looked at the book that Scarlett was holding out to Remy. She took it out of Scarlett's hands and held it in front of herself and Remy. She saw Lust on the page and she sanned it to see what it was about. When she had finished she turned the page. "Gluttony, huh?" she said. She kept reading and smiled. "What's so bad about wanting things to be completely perfect? Good enough just means that there's still something wrong with it." she said.
Gluttony: The world is full of good things, from the beauty of the stars to the ever-changing and never-changing oceans to the pleasure of human company. We are free to enjoy these things without becoming focused on any one of them to the exclusion of all else. It is possible to become so caught up in a pleasure, whether food or fun, that we can no longer enjoy other things, and would be willing to sacrifice other pleasures for the one.
There are at least three forms of Gluttony:
1) Wanting more pleasure from something than it was made for.
2) Wanting it exactly our way (perfection / delicacy).
3) Demanding too much from people (excessive desire for other people's time or presence).
doratheauror - February 2, 2008 04:12 AM (GMT)
Melie walked into the library and saw a group of her friends, and Melie walked over to them, she much rathered to gossip than study. She saw them all gathered around a big book and Melie wandered up to them and squeezed in between Dream and Scarlett.
"Whats up guys?" Melie asked and looked at the page that Dream was looking at. "Gluttony? Perfection isn't always a good thing Dreamy, lord knows you're not even close," Melie said with a smile at her friend. "Lemme see the book," Melie said and pulled it out Dreams hands and flipped the page. "Greed eh?" Melie quickly read the first few lines out loud to her friends. "Greed is the selfish pursuit of money, power, wealth, food or other possesions especially when it is denied to others. Greed denotes desire to acquire wealth or possessions beyond the needs of the individual, especially when this denies others legitimate needs or access to those or other resources. Some desire to increase one's wealth is nearly universal and acceptable in any culture, but this simple want is not considered greed. Greed is the extreme form of this desire, especially where one desires things simply for the sake of owning them" Melie looked up at her friends with an innocent look on her face. "There's nothing wrong with wanting to have stuff and not wanting other people to have it!"
REMY-SALINAS - February 2, 2008 04:23 AM (GMT)
Remy looked on enviously as the book that was suppposed to be in his hand got traded back and forth between the gryffindors. "Hey its my turn now" he yelled out uncharacteristically as he grabbed it from melie's hands. He opened the book and grinned as the sin in front of him seemed to jump out at him.
| QUOTE |
| Envy is pain at the good fortune of others, it is feeling resentful and unhappy because someone else possesses, or has achieved, what one wishes oneself to possess, or to have achieved |
Remy closed the book and laughed "as if who in this castle do i have to be envious of" he boasted with a confident smirk.
ladeeknight - February 2, 2008 04:40 AM (GMT)
"Who indeed?" Scarlett asked Remy smiling up at him once again. She turned back to Logan, "How do you get your hair so shiney sugar?" She absently ran her fingers through it reveling in feel of Logan silky tresses on her skin. "I declare, you must have the best hair at Hogwarts." Scarlett was deliberately goading Remy and she looked at him from under long dark lashes to see if it was working.
REMY-SALINAS - February 2, 2008 05:02 AM (GMT)
Remy tried to ignore scarlett but he couldnt keep from looking until finally he had enough "Hey quit that scarlett he doesnt want your beaut umm your hands in his hair - right logan" he said as he looked at them. "its not that hard to get hair shiny like that i mean if i wanted to my hair could be that shiny i mean who shines it up anyways" he said muttering to himself
dreamdancer7699 - February 2, 2008 05:16 AM (GMT)
Dream looked at Remy with a faint air of disgust. Sometimes she really just didn't know why she stayed with him. He was always messing something up, or making her look bad. Like the way that he was staring to fawn at Scarlett. Didn't he realise that he had the most perfect person in the world as his wife? The fact that he didn't was just yet another flaw that bothered Dream. She had worked very hard on trying to get him to act more to her liking, but he could unfortunately be a bit stubborn sometimes. She gave a small sigh and looked at Logan. He really did have some pretty shiny hair. Dream started playing with a lock of her hair without even realising it.
ladeeknight - February 2, 2008 05:19 AM (GMT)
Hearing what Remy didn't say Scarlett laughed as she got up out of Logan's lap. "Yours is quite nice too Remy." She reached out as if to touch it, but held back at the last moment and touched his face instead. "It's not as shiney, I think because it's thicker. It suits your stong jaw." Scarlett grazed her finger-tips along Remy's chin.
REMY-SALINAS - February 2, 2008 05:29 AM (GMT)
Remy was so busy being envious of logan's hair he hardly noticed as scarlett complimented his. He stared at dream and smiled as he saw how beautiful she was even when she was doing nothing and then he thought of mark and how he got to sleep with her and melie and he balled his hand up in a fist and then slowly unclenched it."mark" he said softly. Finally noticing scarlett he smiled "thank you scarlett, i think your hair is quite nice as well" he said happily.
Logan Devonwood - February 2, 2008 03:09 PM (GMT)
Both Mel and Dream read their sins aloud. Greed and gluttony joined their little group. Remy soon followed up with envy. It was funny after they read them though, because they scoffed and tried to defend themselves against words in a book. This only left Emma to read hers from the book. From the looks of it, she would be reading the part of Sloth.
Logan basked in the compliments from Scarlett about how shiny his hair was. I do have the best hair in Hogwarts, she's right. He grinned as Scarlett ran her hands through his hair, soon to be joined by Dream. That's when he heard Remy muttering to himself about Logan's hair. He glanced out of the corner of his eye and smirked. I'm sorry Remy, I couldn't hear you over Scarlett's compliments. What were you saying? He didn't say this thought aloud, but he really did have to hold his tongue.
Then, it changed. Scarlett moved over to Remy who still looked jealous of Logan. She began telling Remy about his own looks. Logan's jaw-dropped. He wasn't used to this, he was the pretty boy! He was the one that made sure he looked good everyday. "Strong jaw? Pfft, what does that matter?" Logan muttered to himself, as he looked the other way. Just something pulled out of thin air to make someone else feel better. But what does that help?
ladeeknight - February 2, 2008 04:41 PM (GMT)
Scarlett's mouth puckered into a pout when Remy ignored her. She stepped away from him to assess the situation. Though it was hard for her mind to work with so many pleasant tacttile sensatoins around her she thought she might know what was going on. Normally Scarlett would have spoken up but at the moment her hunger the pure fun of the situation at hand just made her want to fan the flames of each persons sin. She heard Remy mutter Mark's name and an idea came to light.
"Speaking of Mark, now there is a boy with a strong jaw-line. How's he doin' Dream? I haven't seen him in a while."
CassieWink - February 2, 2008 04:53 PM (GMT)
Cassie sat sullenly watching everyone read their sins. She sneered at some people who passed their table. "Oh great everyone is coming now. We got a bloody freakin party" she sat listening and ociasionally sirking at some of the passages. "Well it seems to me that" she said snarkily as she felt crowded in, "That this book is desribed to each one of us and by that something is going to happen to us becuse we are in freakin magic over a freakin magic book' she said sulking back into her chair and sulking. "What are you looking at" she said to a first year Ravenclaw who had passed the table.
dreamdancer7699 - February 2, 2008 06:10 PM (GMT)
Dream got a huge smile on her face as Scarlett asked how Mark was doing. She loved Mark. He was always there for her when she needed him to be and he did his best to make sure that she was always having fun. So far he'd succeeded, which made her like him even more. "When I left him, he was still sleeping as usual." she said. Then she realised why Scarlett had asked her that and her eyes flew to Remy. He got really jealous sometimes, but she was sure that he knew that she and Mark were only friends. Bestfriends sure, but Dream couldn't imagine being in a relationship with Mark! Dream stuck her tongue out at Scarlett and was about to return the favor when she heard Cassie growling at some passing students. Seeing that they weren't Gryffindors, Dream didn't say anything about it. That's when she realised that Emma hadn't read from the book yet. "Hey Em! It's your turn isn't it? Maybe Cassie's right and we DO all fit a sin in there!" she said as she took the book out of Remy's hands and gave it to her Ravie friend.
Emma Potter - February 3, 2008 01:18 AM (GMT)
Emma eyed them enviously as they began discussing who had the best hair in the school. They hadnt mentioned her name. After realizing that they weren't going to, she cleared her throat, and smiled. "Sure, Mark has amazing hair. But it is definitely not the best in the school." she said and then added, "Speaking of Mark, I havent seen him forever. He must be to busy hanging out with some of his other friends." she then shot Scarlett and Dream a little glare.
She was hugely envious of Dream. In her eyes, Dream was perfect. She had everything, beauty, quidtich skill, brains, popularity, and she had Mark in her house. Dream spent tons of time with Mark, unlike Emma who was his girlfriend but didnt get to spend as much time with him.
Glancing down at the book, Emma grinned.."I believe I already know what Sloth is. It means really sad." she said, and kept reading the next one.."Envy means jealousy. Well, neither of these really fit me, but if I had to choose the closest one, it would be envy."
OOC: Dream's next post doesnt exactly match up with this post.
dreamdancer7699 - February 3, 2008 01:41 AM (GMT)
Dream looked at Emma and couldn't conceal the look of distate on her face. Really Emma had become a nasty little thing. She used to be happy all the time but now just being near her made Dream feel like diving off cliff headfirst. It was only the thought of how hard she'd worked in order to look as perfect as she now did that kept herself from following through for the sole purpose of avoiding Emma. "Such a drag." she whispered to Melie and Scarlett as she rolled her eyes. "Yeah Emma. Sure. That doesn't fit you at all." she told her friend slowly.
Emma Potter - February 3, 2008 02:10 AM (GMT)
With a laugh, Emma smiled like she used to.."Well atleast I dont spend my time worrying about being perfect." she said and then added, "So we're all sins in some way, whats your point?" she asked to Logan. "That book doesnt tell us anything except what they mean."
ladeeknight - February 3, 2008 08:47 PM (GMT)
"Who cares what they mean?" said Scarlett completely fed up by Emma's moaning. "Let's hit the bar, havin' to whisper is bringin' me down. Besides I wanna dance." Scarlett turned her emerald gaze back to Logan as he was going to be the easiest one to manage, lust always flatteers vanity. "Logan can you be a doll and lug that book along. I wanna do shots off it, but I know I am not strong enough to lug it all the way to Hogsmeade, but you look like you are." She let her hot stare drift from his face to his bicepts and slowly back up again.
Logan Devonwood - February 4, 2008 01:39 AM (GMT)
"I don't really know Em," he said, catching himself glancing off to the side into a reflective book stand. "It's just, they fit a little too 'snug' you know?" Logan looked over to her, and glanced around the table. It was funny, he had known everyone that was currently sitting at the table for a long while before they stumbled upon the book. He knew that no one was perfect. Well, himself aside anyway. But what he hadn't noticed, was how the faults suited each person. Logan knew that Emma could be dramatic. He even just quietly accepted her even more intense moodiness, but he would never had thought to identify her with the sin of Sloth.
Logan drifted out for a short deal of time while everyone else was talking. He tuned back in at Scarlett's suggestion of going out to dance at the bars. He raised an eyebrow, and glanced at the girl, just as she set her attention on him. Well who else would she be staring at? Logan felt his heart racing a bit as he noticed Scarlett's gaze catch his arms. He grinned, looking up into her emerald eyes. The oddest sensation overcame him. He was captivated by Scarlett. The girl had a way with guys. The way she moved, the way she talked, everything.
A grin drew itself across his lips and he nodded. "Who could resist a request like that?" Logan reached behind him to grab the book. However, just with the touch of his fingertips, it flew off of the table, past the seven of them, and landed on its spine about five feet away. The pages began flipping rapidly.
Eyes growing wide, Logan shakily stood up. "Err, what- what just happened?"
CassieWink - February 4, 2008 03:41 AM (GMT)
Cassie smirked. "Now one of your dopes finally has a great idea. I am all in for a ncie good shot of firewhiskey" she said smirking maliciously. She watched as the book flew out of his hands and onto the floor. She sighed exasperatedly. "Good lord...why the hell cant we just go get a drink without this freakin book interuuppting us...well someone does somethign": she said snapping and sneering at everyone then shooting Logan and smirk.
REMY-SALINAS - February 4, 2008 02:50 PM (GMT)
Remy saw the book fly off the table and begin to flip its pages on its own and his eyes flew to dreams as if to say "oh no not another". He looked at emma and wondered if the ravenclaw had any idea what was going on, he hated knowing that she was smarter than he was and although he would never admit it to her that really bothered him lots. His hand reached into his robe and he sighed silently as he felt his wand.
dreamdancer7699 - February 4, 2008 03:15 PM (GMT)
Dream was already nodding her head as Scarlett said they should go somewhere that they could drink. Hearing Cassie agree, she thought it was a done deal. Until the book flew across the room. She looked over at Remy who was already looking at her. She could easily read the thought that was in his head because she was having the same one. Then she looked at everyone else. "I'm not touching that book. For all I know, that book is going to take me somewhere that I don't want to go. I've had to sleep in dirty caves and not shower for three days in a row before because of books like this. I'm going to the bar to get my drink on. If I'm so damn important to that book, then it will follow me, wont it." she said as she linked her arm in Cassie's. "Let's go drink." she said as she watched the book to see if it would have any kind of reaction to what she'd said.

“Hey Dream what up,” called Scarlett as she knelt by the book. “You know you won’t have as fun without me,” Scarlett said smiling brightly at her prefect. “And for some reason I feel like I won’t have as much fun without this book. I just like the feel of it.” Scarlett ran her finger over the page that the book had stopped on. She wasn’t even trying to make out what the words were. With and effort Scarlett picked up the book. “Logan, honey give me a hand with this, it’s almost as heavy as it looks.”
OoC: Logan whatever you are trying to do is gonna have to be done on the move. I think most of us are too far gone in our sin to resist the call of the bar.
Logan Devonwood - February 5, 2008 04:59 PM (GMT)
Logan was frozen from shock when the book flew off of the table. However, this didn't seem to faze anyone else. They were herding out to go to the bar. As much as his older self would have liked to stop them, he felt an overwhelming temptation to go on out with them. Why not? There would be drinking and dancing, attention from a certain emerald-eyed girl. Logan! Knock that off! You have a girlfriend!. His conscience was screaming at him to get a grip.
He should listen, but the temptation was a little too strong for him too handle. Logan followed after the crowd following after Dream and Cassie. Before departing to help Scarlett with the book, he gave one final wink to his fans from before. They all sighed, and he reached the object of his utmost attention. "Well then, you can just let me handle it. I'd hate to see such a pretty girl strain herself." He grinned, and reached out to grab the book.
"Now then, where are we-" Logan was cut off, as the book re-opened itself, and sent out strong winds. Soon enough, the book levitated itself up into the air, and opened wide enough that the first pages of each Sin Section were clearly shown. From those pages, seven different colors (Red, Black, Gold, Green, Blue, Indigo, Purple: See sin list for the color.) burst out and approached a different person. A blast of purple light landed right in front of him. He heard a low growl from the beam of light.

Scarlett deliberately brushed up against Logan as he came to help her with the book. She was about to thank him for his trouble with a kiss when the book burst open sending colorful, and not so colorful, beams of light at each person. As a ruby glow suffused Scarlett she felt a hot sensation tear through her body. She stood still, stunned for a moment unsure what to do.

Cassie laughed."well I see Dreamy has the right idea. Lets go drink" she said getting ready to walk out the door. She took one last look around and paused. She sighed exasperatdly. "Logan and Scarlett can we JUST GP DRINK" she sneered at them. She rolled her eyes as the fidded with the book. "Just leave the darn bookk behind" she said. Suddenly beams of light shot around the room. "Why me" she asked herself as black light zoomed in front of her. "Oh great another f****** book disaster" she said cursing under her breath.
Logan Devonwood - February 6, 2008 01:49 AM (GMT)
Logan was shocked as the colors beamed right in front of each person. The beam of purple light seemed to be bigger than the other ones. He looked out of the corner of his eyes, and saw that Scarlett was dealing with red light, and he saw black heading toward Cassie. Do...do the colors each represent...an sin? He wondered, unable to speak the words out loud.
"Indeed so, Mr. Logan Devonwood," The purple light said in a low voice, "and as a matter of fact, I'd like to thank you for our release. However, I can not do any such thing after reviewing why we got released. If it hasn't become clear to the seven of you, you each embody one of the sins. The deadly sins to be perfectly clear. Now I know what you are thinking, 'Oh everyone is guilty of one of the sins every so often'. Being guilty once in a while isn't as serious as completely embodying them!"
The beam of purple light shot into Logan, sending shivers down his spine, and bringing him down to his knees. In his mind, he heard a nasty, dark voice.
Oh, and who do we have here? The pretty boy, Logan Devonwood. So, you think you're the best, eh? The best looking guy at Hogwarts, or so your self-proclaimed title says. Vain as anything. You bask in the attention of appreciative girls. You compete with other guys for just to get a first year girl to smile. A first year, Devonwood! And what is it when it comes to all those hair gels? Does anyone even care about your hair. 'Ooh, look at me everyone! I'm gorgeous!' Even you think it's true, what does that matter? Will looking good make you a better wizard? Will it bring your father back? No!
Logan cringed at the mention of his father.
Ooh, how sensitive you are about that! To bad you couldn't be that way around the opposite sex. Yes, that's right, I saw what was going on between you and that Gryffindor girl. Just what were your intentions, Logan? What about poor Emilie? What would she think? Oh that's right, you don't care! You're just in it for the thrill of the moment. You want perfection in beauty. You want the best. But wait, how can you want the best, when you are supposed to be the best? Huh?

Dream grinned at Cassie and flicked her long red hair over her shoulder. She turned her back and started walking towards the door. She heard the commotion behind her and she looked over her shoulder only to see nothing but a bright beam the color of lavender flowers before they are picked. She seemed be frozen to the spot as the light got brighter and completely engulfed her. She looked around and saw that Cassie, Logan and Scarlett all had different colored beams of light around them as well. As she looked around frantically for Remy, a loud voice resounded in her head. She looked around, looking for an animal that the voice could belong to, but there were none and the voice seemed to come from a different frequency than she was use too. "Little Miss Gimme More, look at me I'm Dreamy. I get everything I want, but I always want more. More clothes, more shoes, more money, more friends, more attention. Everyone HAS to love me!" the voice said to her mockingly. "What are you going to do when you have nothing and no one? No more clothes other than what's on your back, no more shoes, no more money, no friends and no one around to give you attention. No hot bubblebaths. No coconut peach shower gel. No jewelry, no make up, no shopping. How are you going to survive it?" Dream stared up into the beam, her lip giving the faintest little tremble and it showed just how important those things were to her. "Just what exactly do you want with me?" she asked, forcing her voice to sound more confidant than she felt.
Logan Devonwood - February 6, 2008 09:00 PM (GMT)
Am I going to let a beam of light keep me down? Purple light no less! What can it do? I'm better than that. Logan clenched his teeth, and got up from his knees. He smirked, but looked around, seeing that Dream was also already being affected by the lavender light. Within seconds, the same voice re-entered his head.
There you go again! Always being better. Always being the best. 'Purple can't harm me! I'm Logan Devonwood!' Wasn't that what you were thinking? 'I can defeat other-worldly forces, just because I have a great hair day!'
The voice continued to mock him. He made fists, clutching them tightly to his sides.
Oh what are you going to do? Fight with fists? Ever tried punching a beam of light, Devonwood? It doesn't work. However, nothing is stopping us!
Logan soon felt a painful force hitting him in the chest, and knocking him back a few feet.
