Title: The Lion Queen

Erin put the last of her things in a large suitcase, and charmed it to float along behind her. She walked out of her dorm room, and caught sight of Bastet, her reclusive Egyptian Mau cat.

"You be goood Bast. No killing animals and leaving them behind the speakers again. And NO going after other people's pets either."

Erin said in a firm tone to her cat. Bast seemed to understand, but looked rather pouty, and slunk off somewhere behind a couch, and Erin walked through the portrait to the Entrance Hall. Stopping to fix her glasses, which had slid down to the tip of her nose again, she walked out onto Hogwarts Grounds, and started to look for signs of Leo.

Today, Leo had promised to take her to Africa, to meet the pride of lions she had come to know there. Somewhere near the Lake was a portkey that they would take, and spend several days with the Lions. Excitedly, she started to walk quickly towards the lake, and after a minute, broke into a jog.

Leo looked her self over in the mirror in her common room, once she deemed herself ready she took Kirk and Picard to meet up with Erin near the lake. Sje wouldn't stop harassing her about Africa so in an attempt to shut her up she promised to take her there this weekend. On the grounds that she wouldn't cause trouble with the neighboring prides.

Having arrived at the Lake, Erin got a bit impatient after a few minutes of waiting, and started to look around for the portkey. She walked around, and picked up a small rose quartz rock, and pocketed it... and then continued onwards, also seeing a soggy tennis shoe that someone had lost, and a pretty blue bottle. She picked them up gingerly, and put them on the shore near a old treestump that she sat on to wait for Leo.

She sat on the stump, and looked out towards the lake, wondering when Leo would turn up.

Leona had ran the rest of the way as her animagus with her teenage lion, in an attempt to reach Erin more quickly for she was probably having a fit by now for her tardiness. Once there she morphed back, "I'm sorry I'm late, you ready to go?" She inquired wondering where the portkey was.

"Of course I am ready. Have been for nearly half an hour."

Erin said, exaggerating by 5-10 minutes to get her point across.

"And what do you mean about 'wheres the portkey?' I didn't set up the portkey... I thought you did, but I did find this."

Erin said, and pulled the pretty blue glass bottle from her pocket. It certainly wasn't something that someone would throw away, as it was beautiful opaque glass with different shades of blue flecked here and there.

"So if you didn't set up the portkey... than who did?"

"I don't know but I'd put it back," Leo added then picked up a butterfly clip she saw half caked in the mud. She quickly made it a portkey. "OK Erin," ready?" She asked having not touched it yet, as it was suspended in the air. "One, two three," she said and reached out hoping Erin would do so as well.

Reaching out, Erin touched the butterfly clip, somewhat annoyed that she still couldn't make a working portkey, and that Leo could do so so easily.

"Here goes nothing..."

She said, and waited for the unpleasant pulling sensation, and the swirling that accompanied it.

Leo could still feel the effects of the portkey as they landed in in their destination. It was an African village that was home to several wizards. There were huts everywhere and most were occupied as the sun began to set. Leo found a familiar hut and made her way towards it hoping Erin would follow.

Erin looked around, taking in the whole scene, drinking it in with her eyes. The first thing she noticed, was the dramatic change in temperature. It was quite cold at Hogwarts, but the temperature here was much warmer. She saw Leo heading towards the village after a moment, and followed.

"Alot warmer here isn't it? So whats the deal with the village? Are we staying here?"

Erin asked, managing to restrain herself from flooding Leo with all sorts of questions. But only barely.
