Ok, so my dad's a pilot. He's been flying for over 30 years. Recently, they had a bit of a problem on a flight (the engine fell off the 737).. you guys might've heard of it. Anyway, he got the plane down safely. But that's not the point of this thread.
At the beginning of last year, my uncle, along with many more, died in a plane crash.. it was the Kenya airways crash. Again; you might've heard about it. My friend's dad also died last year in a plane crash; the weather was bad and visibility was 0. He flew his light aircraft into the side of a mountain. I was just reading over my dad's shoulder about another crash. I didn't get the details, but they haven't found the plane, or survivors.
So, my realisation is this; plane crashes might not happen often, but when they do, 9/10 times it'll be fatal to all on board.
I just thought I'd say this.
So true. Still, flying is statistically safer than driving.
It is. There's less chance of something happening. But when something does happen, hundreds of lives are threatened. Where as with driving, hundreds of lives will be threatened in 5 buses crash at once. But hey.
