Title: New Fan Fiction Archive!

Professor Rogue - January 2, 2008 12:44 PM (GMT)
Okay, I'm really excited for this seeing as I've been playing with it all day. So as you might have seen, the LC is really growing. This year with the addition the website, we also have the gallery filled with cool pics. Now I'm bringing yet another network to our growing site. You've guessed it: a fan fiction archive.

This archive will be great. You'll be able to post your stories, into whatever categories you want, you'll be able to make them chapters and update them anytime you please. You'll also be able to register and read other's fan fictions and be able to leave comments about what you thought of it and rate it. In otherwords, it's going to be a really high powered fan fiction archive that will be very easy to manage.

With that said, I need your help. What do we want to call this fan fiction archive? On here its "Hermione's Corner" but that's way too bleak. The site's name is the Leaky Cauldron, and this fan fiction archive doesn't have to be named anything around that. It can be completely different.

So, if you have any ideas, please post it here. Any at all. If not, vote for the one that you like the best. These were the only ones I could come up with.

Sardine - January 2, 2008 05:25 PM (GMT)
I like Hermione's Corner.

So, are we ditching the fanfic section here? I'm trying to get it organised, but I need people to co-operate. And most of them aren't. Let me know if I must scrap what I'm doing.. well, trying to do.

Professor Rogue - January 3, 2008 01:02 AM (GMT)
No, we're not ditching the fan fiction section here Sardine. You'll be in charge on this new one too. Think of this as sort of expanding what we already have. So all of your plans will still be a go, organizing the stories into categories, having the authors sign up like they do, etc. We still need to do that.

You'll be able to do the same thing with this system, only it'll be much easier. But you and I need to talk more in details about this too.

Lethal Ink - January 3, 2008 06:24 AM (GMT)
I've a few suggestions:

LeakyLit
Potter Parsing
Hogwarts's Unquiet Quills

Of course, "Potter Parsing" implies something more in the lines of literary commentary/ analysis, though that's probably something you'd want to include.

Sardine - January 3, 2008 03:51 PM (GMT)
Ok. PM me sometime and we can talk. Preferably before January the 11th if you can.

What about:
Author's Corner
Wizened Shelves

They're lame, I know.

Professor Rogue - January 5, 2008 02:19 PM (GMT)
yep I PM'ed you.

Naw, those are good ideas, at least you're thining Sardine!

I didn't vote because I still have no clue. Sil, I like your ideas!! I think Leaky Lit is the best out of yours though, very nice.

Hermione's Corner will still be here. That and the fan ficiton section on the website will co-exist. We'll be using both. You'll be able to probably comment more here on the forums, but yeah, they both will co-exist. Think of it as expanding Hermione's Corner.

Shonk Da 'Onk - January 11, 2008 04:51 AM (GMT)
So Hermione's Corner shall be for drafts where the authors can go and post and get constructive critism and then once they done that they can upload chapters to the archieve or whatever?? Yes no?

Anyway I seriously think we have to many leaks around here. I'm surprised no one has slipped over and broken their necks yet
How bout:
    I HAVE NO FRIGGEN IDEA
    Ink Pot . . . OF DOOM

Sardine - January 14, 2008 08:24 PM (GMT)
Uhm.. yeah, I think so, Shonk. Or ja... Hermione's Corner will just be a bit more organised (directory, completed/not completed etc). And non-LC members will also be able to post at the new archive. Plus that should be really organised... o_O Maybe.

I like "The Ink Pot" or "Ink Pot". I'd vote for that.

Henry Bridge - March 9, 2008 09:00 PM (GMT)
I like the Magical Bookworm the most. I would vote in the poll but it won't let me. I don't know why.

Sardine - March 10, 2008 01:41 PM (GMT)
Try until it works. Refresh the page, open it in a new window etc.

I forgot to put the Ink Pot up. Oops.

Henry Bridge - March 11, 2008 09:24 PM (GMT)
It still doesn't work. It says that I've already voted in the poll, but I'm pretty sure I haven't yet.

Professor Rogue - March 12, 2008 04:57 AM (GMT)
I'm not sure what to say. The only reason it won't work is if you have voted. So maybe you just can't remember it.

ladeeknight - March 13, 2008 07:52 PM (GMT)
What happened the Hogwarts’ Unquiet Quills and Leaky Lit? Am I thinking of a different thing that we are trying to rename.

Henry Bridge - March 14, 2008 10:40 AM (GMT)
Okay proffesor. It's okay that it doesn't work, it's not big deal anyways. Scarlett we're trying to think of a new name for the fan fictions.

Sardine - March 14, 2008 03:41 PM (GMT)
This is an old thread, Scarlett. You're thinking of the right thing :)

I'm going to be ending the poll soon.

Henry Bridge - March 17, 2008 12:21 AM (GMT)
Cool Sardine, that'd be a good idea to edit the poll.

Sardine - March 17, 2008 03:31 PM (GMT)
Uh, I said "End", not "Edit".

Henry Bridge - March 18, 2008 10:23 AM (GMT)
O. LOL. I thought it was a typo, and that you meant to say edit. My bad.

Kitty - April 4, 2008 11:39 AM (GMT)
Wow, thing sounds awesome Rougue =) It's great because I've been writing a butt load recently. I can't wait!!!!

Professor Rogue - April 4, 2008 07:02 PM (GMT)
Hey Kitty!

a.) GREAT to see you back! How are you?!

b.) I'm glad you're excited for this. I'm going to need all of you all to post your stories and such. :)

mj - April 7, 2008 07:53 AM (GMT)
Ahhh! How cool. Really digging this idea. I've been messing about with a bit of fanfiction. Not going anywhere at the mo but at least I've got that head start, eh? lol
Pretty awesome...

Sardine - April 7, 2008 12:26 PM (GMT)
It could still be a while before it's actually open to LC members, then to the rest of the public.
