Scarlett walked to the hospital wing trying to keep her calm. She had been having worse and worse nightmares. The latest one was of her breaking into the hospital wing to steal her records and having Alfie catch her and hate her forever. She figured that she could solve at least one of the problems by just going and asking to see her records. She took her courage in both hands and forced herself to walk into the hospital wing. The worst that Alfie could tell her was no right, but what if Alfie said yes. What would Scarlett find.

"Alifie are you here," Scarlett called softly, not wanting to disturb any patients that might be in here.

Mark had been down in the great hall cramming his dinner before quidditch practise. He ate all three courses (and extra) in five minutes flat. Getting to his feet and walking over towards the exit he doubled over with stomach pains, "damn indegistion!" he thought to himself as he tried to stand up straight again. But it was no use trying to rush his meal to get to quidditch in time had actually made him too ill to attend. "I better go see if nurse Alfie can sort it out" he decided as he waddled over to the hospital wing.
When he arrived he noticed Scarlett there looking around for the nurse. "She not here?" Mark asked feeling better already, maybe all he needed was time to let his food settle.

Scarlett nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard Mark's voice. She had been so intent on searching the office for Alfie that she had not heard him coming. "Holy Moly Mark, you scared ten years off my life. And no I don't think Alfie is here." She looked at Mark consideringly and then decided that Mark was always up for a little mayhem. "Mark do you know where Alfie keeps out medical records?"

Mark raised an eyebrow and the corners of his mouth turned up slightly at Scarletts question. "Maybe i do, maybe i dont." he said coyley. He suspected that scarlett would correctly assume the former. "Why? what do you have in mind?" he asked guessing that he already knew the answer she was about to give.

"Look Mark, we both know that I am not exactly normal. I have to get some answers about why I can breath fire. It is preying on my mind and giving me nightmares. I haven't well since we got back from Godrick's Hallow. Lately the dreams have been about looking in my records so I thought I would give that a shot." Scarlett had already decided that since Alfie wasn't around she was not going to bother the ask to see her records she was just going to look at them.

"Well arnt you lucky that i showed up then" Mark would have gone along with Scarlett for the adventure even if there wasnt a legitimate reason to look at them, but seing that Scarlett really needed the records just gave him a valid excuse. He slowly opened the door to the hospital wing and loked around to double check that Alfie wasnt around. It was good news he couldnt see her anywhere, and almost everyone in the wing was asleep. "This way" he said barely above a whisper as he gestured his head over towards the nurse's office at the back of the room. "Theyre in a little cabinet behind a painting in here." he said quietly as he approached the closed door.

Scarlett crept along behind Mark, careful not to wake anyone up. She entered the office and identified the painting the records were behind. "Ok Mark, you be the look out. If Alfie comes in, be loudly sick so that I'll know. When her back is turned, say 'Yeah it hurts right there' and I can sneak out of the office."

"Be loudly sick?" Mark repeated slightly taken aback. "I cant just do it on order ya know" he joked with a laugh. "If only i had some puking pastles!" he muttered to himself as he turned to lookout for Alfie. There was still no sign of her so Mark assumed they would have more than enough time to get the reconds, they were kept in alphabetical order after all. He turned back to Scarlett after afew seconds, "Just grab the file and we can leave. It'll be better to read it somewhere safer like the common room or the grounds!" he suggested turning back to look for the nurse.

"I didn't mean actually vomit," Scarlett said over her shoulder as headed for the portrait. Sometimes the laguage barrier between her and Mark could be quite funny. "I meant hold your stomach and moan a lot." Scarlett made her way to the portrait. She drew her wand and said "Specialis Revelio." There was a spell on the portrait to cover an intruder with boils. "Finite Incantantum" Scarlett said hoping she could override it. If not she would take her chances with the boils. She needed to see what was in her records. She opened the portrait and the cabinet. Scarlett quickly found the "C's" and her own records. Following Mark's advice she took them and quickly closed up both cabinet and portrait. She didn't know the spell to reset the boil effect so Alfie was probably going to know someone had been in here, but Scarlett would cross that bridge when she came to it. She got her records and went to where Mark was standing at the door. "I got 'em," she said. "Let's get out of here. But not to the common room. She might be there now. Do you know anywhere else kinda private?"

Mark looked back in relief when Scarlett said she was done. "Yeah? that was quick. Oh well, no point complaining about that i guess." he joked as he turned back around and opened the door for scarlett. He stepped out of the office and into the main hospital wing when she asked if Mark knew any quiet places to read the records. "Errr, if you really wanted to make sure that Alfie didnt see you you could always go into one of the cubiclas in the boys batroom. She wouldnt go there in a million years!" he suggested with a shrug of the shoulders. "But once were out of here itll be hard for her to prove anything anyway."

"That is a great idea Mark!" Scarlett said knowing full well how Alfie felt about propriety. Not even Mark was allowed in thier dorm room and he was the most harmless guy in the whole Tower. "Will you be my look out again." Scarlett wasn't so sure that Alfie wouldn't know right off who took the records, when she found that Scarlett's were the only ones missing. She didn't share with Mark though because she didn't want to burst his pretty pink bubble. And besides if Scarlett got caught she would not bring Mark into it.

"Dont sound so surprised, i am prone to coming up with good ideas once in a while." he replied to Scarlett comment with a grin. He carried on down the staricase towards the boys bathroom. "Yeah sure, i'll be your look out. But i dont mind helping you figure it out if you wanna share." he said to his friend leaving it up to her how much she wanted to involve him in the matter. In a matter of minutes they were outside the door to the boys bathroom.

"I didn't mean to sound surprised Mark. You always have good idea when I need one. That is why you are my favorite partner in crime." Scarlett smiled sincerely at Mark, very greatful for all his help. :)
