Alfie had been wondering around on the grounds. She had no idea what to do. For some reason it seamed that everyone's emotions where running wild and all distorted.

Alfie couldn't figure out a way to block them out and wasn't sure she wanted to.

"How can I help are should I help?" Alfie said to herself.

Scarlett was worried about Alfie. She had seemed a little frantic when last they'd spoken and now Scarlett had found her wandering the grounds. Mindful of her own erratic emotions, Scarlett qualfed a calming draught and approached Alfie. "Hi, Alfie, how are you doing?"

Alfie turned with a start as Scarlett came up behind her and asked how she was doing.

"Oh Scarlett you scared me. I just don't know what is going on around here. Everyone is either mad or so much in love that I can't think straight. I wonder if some of the people have been given love potion and the other half given jelously potion. It is just all mixed up. Tempers ar so high right now I just don't know what to do. I feel like a lot of people are going to get hurt if this isn't gotten under control."

Alfie sat down and started to cry, she was wondering if there might be something wrong with her. Maybe something new has been happening with her powers, maybe they where getting stronger and Alfie could nolonger control it could it be her that made everything feel so bad?

"Scarlett I feel such emotion from you. You are so happy about having a boyfriend and can hardly wait until your first date. You feel like it has taken you so long to get him to ask you out that you where beginning to think he never would but yet you just couldn't give up hope. Maybe you should take a draft that will make you emotions less."

Scarlett did as Alfie asked and drank down the potion. She felt dissappointment as the euphoric feeling of first attraction drained out of her, but she could deal with it if that was what it would take to comfort Alfie.

"The school does seem to be a bit riled up at the moment. I am sorry that the rest of us are disturbing your calm Alfie, but these things are bound to happen from time to time."

Ooc: Scarlett I thought you would say that you Already took a calming draught.

Bic:

Alfie looked at Scarlett as she drank the calming draught and noticed that she started to look very pale as if she might just fall over. "Scarlett what is going on I sence that your getting some calmer but you don't look too good. Have you every taken a calming draught before?"

Alfie quickly pull out the counter draught to give to Scarlett in case she just couldn't stand the potion.

"Yeah I have. I have been feeling strangely everytime my temper is up, so I have been taking the calming draughts to prevent it. I'll be fine. I figured you could still feel my excitment about Michael and I just want to help you." Scarlett did feel a little out of it. She remembered the feeling quite well from the seditives the muggle doctors had prescribed her when her house burnt down. It was actually kind of a relief to get away from stong emotions sometimes.

Alfie still wasn't sure that Scarlett was going to be okay so she said, "Scarlett did you take some of the draught before you came out here?"

If Scarlett did she just might be having a reaction to too much of the potion.

"I just csn't believe that the dose I gave you could do thing to you. I didn't give you that much." Alfie was feeling that she herself just might pass out.

"No, it's been awhile since I took any for my temper. I took one right before I let you know it was here. And I took another one when you told me too. Really Alfie I feel fine. I just want to help you feel better." Scarlett tried to send feelings of compassion towards Alfie, but couldn't quite conger any.

Alfie had a look of sheer tarror on her face. "Scarlett," Alfie said.

Looking in her pach Alfie found the right potion top give Scarlett to make it where only one of the potions where working on Scarlett.

"Here take this fast, you don't have time to goof around. Now," Alfie yelled in fear.

This way not good and a good amount of time had already pased sence Scarlett took the second potion.

Scarlett did as she was told, but Alfie was stern when in healer mode. As the un-calming draught tood effect Scarlett began to realize how disconnected she had felt. "Thank you Alfie,' she said contritely to the healer, 'I really was just trying to help."

Alfie gave a sigh of relief when Scarlett had finished taking the potion.

"Yes Scarlett I know but it is not worth the chance of you dieing and that could have happened. I just will have to live with it. The way the emotions are around here right now is like when I first started to feel others emotions. Good thing I know I have this are I would be crying and acting very strange right now."

Alfie then sat down hoping to find the peace she needed.

"I-I could have died?" Scarlett asked shakily. She had no idea they were that strong. Scarlett was very forcefully reminded that thing in the Wizarding World were different than Muggle Land, where you could take four extra strength Tylenol if you thought your head ache was really bad.

Alfie looked at Scarlett and said, "you are really giving you heart a work out have you ever stopped to think what you are doing to your body when you take more then you should of anything? All the drugs even in the muggle world have bad side effects and most people just take what they are told and think that just because you can get it over the counter that it won't hurt you, but over time it will weaken you heart, lungs, and even your immunsystem. It never seams to amase me how little that people care about their lives that they will blindly take meds without really tinking how it hurt the body and mind."

Alfie had watched her mom get cancer from using sacrin instead of sugar. Sacrin was okay if you just couldn't use sugar and only used a little each day. If you got cancer from it that would take a good amount of time but no her mother thought that it was okay to put it on everything and as much as she wanted.

Alfie's mom was lucky it was caught quick enough if she would have waited any longer Alfie's mother would be dead.

After Alfie's mom got cancer Alfie read everything she could get her hands on that told about the effects of anything that was put into the body or on it.

Alfie smile and said, "I know you where but I have a saying just because a little is good does not mean that a lot is better."

Alfie could feel some of Scarlett's emotions again but knew that there wasn't anything that could be done at tis point.

As Alfie walked around trying to figure out what to do she saw a twinkleing area and wondered what it was and why it was there.

Walking over to it she noticed that the twinkles seamed to come closer to her.

"Scarlett do you see that?"

Alfie pointed at the spot of twinkling lights.

Dana Lynn was walking around the castle when she noticed Alfie and Scarlett. She walked up to them slowly, sensing that something was wrong by the way they were talking to each other. Dana made her way to them and stood beside Scarlett, "Hey, whats going on?" Dana had noticed Alfie pointing at something so she looking in that direction, "Wow I see what you are talking about Alfie, I wonder what that could be!"

Alfie continued to stare at the twinkleing lights wandering what they could be. As she looked at them she could feel all kinds of feelings.

Then Alfie heard Dana ask what they where.

Alfie tryed to take her eyes off them but just couldn't. " I don't know Dana," Alfie said.

"How long have you been here Dana?"

Alfie wondered if she had kind of blacked out for she could not feel her freinds emotions just the lights.

Dana Lynn watched as Alfie continued to stare at the twinkling lights. It kinda worried her how Alfie wouldn't take her eyes off the lights, and wouldn't even turn to look at her when she talked. Alfie acted like she was mezmerized or like something was not letting her take her eyes off of the lights. Dana went over and stood in front of Alfie and put her hands on her shoulders. "Alfie are you ok? What is going on? You are kinda scaring me!"

Dana must have been worried for some reason fro Dana got in front of Alfie and started to talk to her.

"Oh Dana thank you I just couldn't turn or anything. I felt like they where taking control of me. Maybe we should get away from that thing."

Alfie hoped that she could find a way to figure out what it was and how to handle it.

Al of the sudden Alfie noticed that Scarlett was still there, "Scarlett, and Dana what do you thinkwe should do?"

Dana Lynn gave a sigh of relief when Alfie started talking to her normally. "I was worried because you were acting spaced out and not yourself. And as for those lights I have no clue what they are, but they do have some kind of power or you wouldn't have acted so strangely to them." Dana turned to Scarlett, "So, what is your opinion about the lights do you know anything about them?"

Alfie listened as Dana asked Scarlett if she had any ideas what the lights where and as she listened she began to wonder if she should even look at the lights again.

"What is it about those lights, they make me feel so funny even if I don't look at them." Alfie said to herself.

Then for some reason Alfie just had to look at them again.

Dana Lynn noticed the odd way Alfie was acting and saw her try and look at the lights again. Dana then grabbed her by the arm and turned her around so she wouldn't be able to see the lights because they were behind her back. "Please Alfie you are so freaking me out, please, please try not to look at those lights. They are making you act funny. Just please try and focus on me and lets go and find out from someone what they are!"

Alfie looked at Dana as she told her not to look at the lights.

"Dana you know that I can feel others emotions so maybe if I look at it again an keep my mine focused on not letting it control me I can find out what it is and what it wants."

Alfie was afraid that it mu=ight have some horrorable things planed or it just might be lost. There was no way ofknowing. Then it accured to Alfie that there might be something about it in one of the books in the library.

"Okay Dana I will not look at it right now but I think I should later if we can't find anything out about it at the library."

Alfie headed to the library she hoped that the thing would be covered in a book so she wouldn't have to deal with it by looking at it. That thing gave her the creeps but it could be dangerous and Alfie didn't want anyone to get hurt because of it.

Dana Lynn nodded in agreement with Alfie and started following Alfie towards the library. She looked back only once to find that the lights were still there. She was pretty sure that they would stay there until they returned. They seemed very eager and determined to communicate with Alfie for some strange reason. Dana turned back towards Alfie and saw that she had gotten some length ahead of her, so she jogged a little bit until she caught up. "Alfie, do you have any idea what those lights could be? Could they be dangerous? And will you please be careful?" Dana looked worridly at Alfie as she talked and walked at the same time.

"Scarlett do you see that?" was the last thing that Scarlett heard clearly. When Alfie had mentioned the lights, Scarlett had turned to look at them. Scarlett loved sparkly things, so she was instantly taken in by the twinkling lights and was content to stand and watch them all day.

Alfie was so intent on finding out what and why the lights bothered her like they did that she had not noticed that Scarlett had been staring at them as well.

As Alfie headed to the library she started to wonder if anyone else at the school would have the same trouble with the lights and if there should be a sign to warn people of it being there.

The thought all of the sudden flow from her mind at she reached the library and went in to find the book on monsters.
