Alexa pushed open the door to the library and was amazed by all the books that filled the shelves. She began looking through all the different titles wondering what kinds of things she would find. She pulled out a book called "Basic Charms and Transfiguration" She sat at one of the tables and opened the well-weathered pages. She found lots of spells she wanted to try, many that would involve transfiguring things around her into very entertaining things, like a mouse. That would be a fun one to try, but she thought that she should probably wait until she'd gone to some classes and, well, had a wand...that she really couldn't wait for. She thought to herself about how much fun it would be to go shopping in Diagon Alley once she knew exactly what she needed.

It had been a quiet day, much to quiet for Logan's liking. He had wanted to go outside and spend the day around the lake meeting people there, but the weather was much too dreary to even bother. Logan sighed and just began to wander through the hallways. He stopped in front of the library and smirked. Like anyone would be in here, he thought to himself. He stepped in anyway just to take a gander.

It appeared that he was wrong. A girl was sitting in there, and not a bad-looking one at that. Logan shook his head and gave a grin out of disbelief. What would a pretty girl be doing in the library? The very idea stumped him. Maybe in need of a study buddy. He contemplated the idea.

Deciding to have some fun, Logan walked in, grabbed the first book that he could get his hands on and plopped himself down at the girl's table. He began to flip through the pages, nodding occaisionally, and pointing to words.

"Wow that's interesting." He said aloud.

Alexa looked up and saw a boy she'd never noticed before. Then again, she hadn't exactly been here long enough to notice more than her cousins and maybe one or two other people, like Scarlett on the train. She watched his obvious ploy to get her attention as he mindlessly flipped through the pages. She laughed to herself every time he made some very obvious statement about what he was reading, wondering if he was even reading the words in front of him. She wondered if she should play along or just put the poor boys mind at ease and talk to him. She gave him a few more minutes of flipping through the pages before she decided to give him a break. She cleared her throat.

"Hi" She said with a giggle when he looked up. "I'm Alexa, and just so you know, it took all of about three seconds of your little attention getting routine for me to notice you were here" She said with a smile. She decided to give the boy a break and play nice. "What house are you in?" She asked trying to make conversation

Emilie wandered into the library hoping to get some of her homework done. She began searching the shelves for any books that could help her. "Charms, Potions, Transfiguration, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, Ancient Runes, Muggle Studies, Arithmancy, what else?" she mumbled to herself. She lugged the huge stack of books over to a table and slammed them down. When she sat down she noticed that there were two other people at the table. "Hi Alexa." she said, recognizing her cousin. "What are you doing in the library? Don't tell me you've got homework already?" she turned to the boy, "I don't think we've met before, I'm Emilie." she said, offering him her hand.

Alexa smiled as her cousin came in. "Hey Emilie, no, no homework yet. Just curious. Trying to find some stuff to give me a few clues before I go to class. What about you? Homework?" She asked. Then she turned to the boy who had yet to introduce himself and waited to see what he had to say.

"Yup. TONS of homework." she said, patting the stack of books in front of her, "Just you wait, you'll get you share of work. Trust me." she said as she pulled the Arithmancy book from the stack, flipped it open, and began scanning the pages for information.

Alexa sighed. "Fabulous..." She muttered. She opened the Charms book she had been reading again...it looked like she'd need all the help she could get. She was muttering spells under her breath but couldn't stay focused for too long. She let her eyes wander around the library catching the eyes of this mysterious boy and his captivating smile. She couldn't help but giggle at his cocky smile, and was very happy to be so comfortable here already.

"Who's your friend?" she asked, nodding toward the boy. "Ooh, is that charms?" she asked, "I love charms! It's my favorite class! Well besides Arithmancy and Ancient Runes. But still, it's a lot of fun." she said knowingly. "Are you gonna take it this year?" she asked.

Is that so? Logan thought to himself. However, before he could even get a word out to this "Alexa", another girl walked right over and began chattering up a storm. The two girls had to know each other. Logan just put on an innocent smile and batted his eyelashes waiting politely to get his turn to speak.

The other girl was pretty cute as well. Don't get ahead of yourself Logan, his good conscience told him. Flirt flirt flirt!, his other half told him.

There it was, his opening. "Now that the chatter has subsided, it is rather nice to meet you Alexa and other girl." He grinned. He had hoped they would notice that he hadn't given his name.

When the boy at the table began talking, Emilie decided to introduce herself. "Um, sorry I didn't get your name. I'm Emilie." she said smiling. "Do you know what house are you in?" she asked casually.

Logan pushed the book aside and grinned. "Won't be needing this any more then." He leaned back in his chair. "Emilie, that is a rather nice name. Not nearly as good as mine though." He shrugged his shoulders. "Sorry, love."

"As for a house, I haven't yet been sorted. Coming from the parents, it could be Slytherin or Ravenclaw." Logan answered. "And yours?" He addressed both Emilie and Alexa.

"I'm in Ravenclaw. In my opinion it's the best house in this school. My brother's in Gryffindor. In his opinion it's the best house in this school." she made a face, "I still think Ravenclaw's better though. Do you play Quidditch?" she asked, bringing up her favorite subject.

Logan cocked a grin. "I'm sure everyone feels a sense of house pride every now and then." His parents would bicker about which house was better all the time; lovingly anyway. From the sounds of it though, Slytherin would be more fun, but he wouldn't tease Emilie about it yet.

"I haven't played much really. Never found anyone all that interested." He confessed. "What about you?"

"I love it. It's my favorite sport. I'm a beater on the Ravenclaw team. It's sooooo much fun. Especially when I get to hit things." she said, smirking. "I've only broken my arm once. Pretty impresive seeing as how beater is a fairly dangerous position." she said.

Ooh, so this one likes danger... Logan smirked. "Impressive, I'll give you that." It sounded like he'd be signing up for quidditch. If that was all it took to be impressive, Logan was all for it. He'd have to remember that position, beater.

Before asking more questions, he addressed the shy Alexa. "Are you into this 'quidditch' thing as well, hun?"

Alexa rolled her eyes. This guy was pretty clearly a flirt, he would be an interesting one to get to know. And still no introduction Alexa thought to herself. She turned to this mysterious flirt. "So Mr. Mysterious, we seem to have noticed that you still are nameless, did you want to change that?" She asked just as mysteriously

Logan grinned and shook his head. "See, just because the two of you were so quick to give your names doesn't give me ground to give mine. I assure you that I'll tell you in good time, unless you'd like to venture a guess?" He shrugged, raising his eyebrows. He hoped they would, no one ever guessed Logan

Alexa just shook her head.How to react to him? she wondered to herself, at this point totally unsure how to deal with the very flirtatious, and very mysterious boy sitting in front of her. She looked him in the eye. "Well good sir, at least we had the courtesy to introduce ourselves, however, it is still a pleasure to meet you" She said extending her hand

Emilie smiled, the boy continued to refuse to tell them his name. "You want us to guess huh?" she asked mysteriously, "Well either your name is so embarrassing that you don't want to tell us, or you're just so paranoid that we have to play childish games to figure it out." she said, hoping to possibly force it out of him.

Logan laughed, "Ladies, ladies please. All these assumptions are rather far-fetched. Would I really have you guess an embarassing name? And to my own curiosity, why do you need to know so badly? Need to put a name with this pretty face?" Logan grinned pointing to himself.

He took Alexa's hand. "The pleasure's all mine Alexa." Logan struggled not to usual his usual "hun". What with all this focus on names.

Alexa shook her head smiling again. This one was going to be someone interesting to get to know..."Well good sir, we'll just leave an air of mystery there, if you so insist." Alexa said trying not to blush. She opened her book back up, again unable to fully concentrate, but hoping she was putting on a good face that she was fully focused.

Emilie smiled at her cousin's response, and decided to do the same. She pulled out the Arithmancy book and began reading the different theories about why numbers did or didn't contain magical properties, giggling whenever she came upon a completely outlandish theory.

They're good Logan thought to himself, though he did notice a slight red glow in Alexa's cheeks. He grinned. "Alright, alright. Since it is so important, I'll drop a big hint. L. Devonwood. Guess what the L stands for."

The minute the words came out of his mouth, he realized how bad of a mistake he just made. He let it go though, maybe the girls wouldn't catch on. "C'mon Em, Lex, don't let me down."

Alexa rolled her eyes again. She'd admit though, he was funny, and she liked him. "Fine, you want me to guess.....hmmmm" She tried to come up with the most obscure L name she could think of, just to bug him...."Hmmmm, could it be...Leonardo?" She said, "or Lucas, Larry? Am I close" She asked realizing by his expression she was totally off, which she just found funny

"Leonardo?" Logan tried not to laugh any harder. "Where did you pull that one from?" He put his hands over his eyes as his shoulder shook with laughter. "Oh man, excuse me. I'm terribly sorry." Logan grinned at her.

Aww, how cute, she was trying too. He thought to himself. "Okay, I'll be nice, but you best both be paying attention. Especially you Alessandra." He teased her. "The name is Logan. I know, I know. Much cuter than both of yours, right?"

Alexa rolled her eyes as she giggled. "just trying to come up with the most outrageous possibility I could think of, just to see what kind of reaction I could get out of you. As for the cuteness of your name? Really now, thats debatable" Alexa said, just to see again, what kind of reaction she could get, its fun to bother this new guy.

In the most girl fashion he could manage, Logan lifted a hand and glanced to the side. "Honey, please. You're just jealous." He smirked in her direction. "You see, your name is Alexa. Not the full Alexandra, which means that it just wasn't worth writing out fully. That is of course, since there is a lack of an 'i' which would spice up a rather dull name." Logan smiled sweetly. He didn't much mind the name Alexa, but this was bound to get her speechless.

Alexa thought carefully...she knew that he was just trying to get a rise out of her, she wasn't going to let him beat her now. "Well, for your information, I commonly go by Lexi, which seems to be your preferred version of my name anyway. However, you are more than welcome to just call me Alexa. Thank you very much" Alexa said hoping she sounded serious, when she was most certainly not, and just seeing if she could get a rise out of him. To prove her point she propped her book up in front of her and tried not to giggle or show him that she was blushing.

"Well now I have to wonder if you call yourself Lexi because you realize your actually name's futility seeing as though it isn't even a full name." Logan cocked an eyebrow and smirked. Alexa hid herself behind a book. He winked over at Emilie. "Alright then. I don't recall calling you Lexi before, but if you prefer a nickname off of a nickname than I will be more than happy to oblige your request babe." He laughed.

Alexa put the book down again and looked at him. "Ok, so you never actually called me Lexi, but it was the only version of my name I'd ever heard with an 'I' in it." She smiled and decided to try again with the conversation. "So Mr. Logan Devonwood..." She started. "You new around here too? You get your house yet?" She asked

"As a matter of fact, I just got my notification. I am in Ravenclaw." Logan grinned proudly. It was best not to bring up the story behind the grin just yet, so he just cleared his throat and looked back at Lexi. "And you, have you been sorted into a house yet?" He was now standing up diagonally from her now. Even hiding in a book, Logan could see her expression clearly!

Alexa put the book down, it was clear that it wasn't hiding her any longer anyway. She nodded. "I have indeed, but like you, maybe I'll decide to remain aloof about that fact, since I ruined the surprise of my name I mean" She said with a little giggle wondering what kind of reaction this one would get.

Logan cocked an eyebrown and the corner of his lip turned up into a grin. "Touche darling. However, the crest to your house should be your robe unlike my name not being anywhere." He pointed the Ravenclaw crest that was emblazoned on the chest of his robe.

"Now, if your arm wasn't in the way of the house crest, I'd be able to tell for myself, no?" He took a seat on the corner of the table. "So I'm going to assume that you are just going to continuously have something covering up the crest of your robe, or you are now just going to take my suggestion because you forgot that the crest was in fact there." He examined his nails with fake interest as he rattled off his last quip.

Alexa looked down behind her hand...oops he was right. She didn't show it though, and casually slipped the cloak off to show a very plain school shirt, with no insignia of her house. "Now what will you do?" Alexa asked with a playful grin. "One crest is easy enough to hide until you figure it out for yourself" She said wondering how he would take that.

Logan loved being right. Although it may have been quick thinking to remove the cloak, dear Lexi forgot one important article of clothing that took the cake. But he decided to play along for now. Logan pretended to look worried and upset. He put a hand to his cheek and dropped his jow.

"Oh wow Lexi, you're much too quick for me! Why didn't I even think of that, removing your cloak. Ingenious! Ingenious, I say!" Logan stood up and walked a little away from the table shaking his head. He let out a sigh and shrugged his shoulders. "Well, what's a guy to do now? All I can think about his that lovely blue and silver tie hanging around your neck."

He grinned and looked her in the eye. "Ravenclaw, then?"

Alexa rolled her eyes. Fine he got me this time. She smiled though. "OK, so you figured me out. And hey, we're in the same house" Alexa said silently pretty happy about that fact. "I'll have to watch myself around the dorm from now on, make sure I don't make a silly mistake like that from now on." She smiled at him again

Emma looked up from reading book and rolled her eyes as she spotted the Logan and Alexa flirting. Snapping the book shut, she put it back on the shelf. She barely ever wore her house outfit, walking over to the two, she grinned at them.."Guess which house I am in?" she asked, glancing down at her jeans and pink long sleeved T-shirt. She smiled at them with a nice, beautiful smile to show them that she was joking.

Alexa smiled. She'd seen Emma around, and knew for a fact that she was they're prefect, but decided to wait and see how Logan would react to that one. However, she could definitely have some fun first. "Gee, this is a tricky one, one that I'm going turn over to the always brilliant and fantastic. Logan" She said and looked at him expectantly.

"I guess you will then," He grinned at her. He looked up at the girl that approached him and Alexa, when challenged about her house, Alexa volunteered him for the answer. Logan scrunched up his face into a tart little smile. "Aren't you too sweet?" he teased her.

Logan gave the girl a grin. "Well, I'm going to go totally out on a limb and say Ravenclaw since you are asking two very clueless Ravenclaw first years that have been discussing it for quite sometime. That and it must be Ravenclaw seeing as how your jeans are blue." He grinned.

Emma looked down at her jeans and then looked back up at Logan. She started to laugh.."That is the most stupid, most creative reason I have ever heard. Are you sure you are in Ravenclaw?" she asked jokingly. And then looked back at Alexa, who already knew who she was.."And yes, I am in Ravenclaw." she said bluntly.

"But did you know I am in Ravenclaw because of my jeans, or because I can turn my hair to the color of blue?" she asked, quickly changing her hair to a blue color, and then back to her usual. "That is the question?"
