Title: Wizard chess

Okay, so I've given this some thought (not much, but some). We should have a place to get together and play wizard chess. I think we could keep it simple enough for those who don't know how to play chess, or aren't very experienced players. [Simply A. captures B.'s knight with a rook, instead of actually keeping track of the moves as if they were on a real chess board] and focus more on player interaction and conversation. More experienced players might want to go into more detail and make their moves more 'real,' but the main focus would be on conversation and interaction. In other words, kinda a 'How bout me and you sit down for a cuppa,' type setting only with chess moves thrown in to give it a reason for being there.

Well I like playing chess and have fun playing it on the PS2 game of Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix< but how would anyone know if they won of not.
Half the fun of playing is seeing if you can beat the other player.
Well if you work it out in a way that everyone can understand maybe you will have a great idea instead of a fair idea. I like the idea of chess it's just that I can't quite get the hle picture.

Well, that's just it. How do you RP chess? You either have to have an actual game (like a flash game imbedded in the board), be good enought to remember the layout of the board and every move that's been made, or just kinda make it up. so one person would have to decide to lose. that makes the game it's self pretty boring, but it would make a backdrop for character interaction. Think of it like the dueling thread, only with chesspieces instead of spells.

Make a thread, and I will play you. Sounds like fun. :P
I could go either way with it though, I figure I could just make a pic for each move, and post it with a thread, or we could mostly ignore the game in favor of character interactions. It would be weird if we didn't pay attention and ended up losing three rooks though.

I have an idea how you could RP wizard chess. You draw the layout on a piece of paper so you don't have to rember everything. And if someone makes a mistake, hoever there playing agianst will that person. Who likes my idea? I think it would work and be a good idea. I think we should try it. Anyone with me in this idea?
