Alfie walked around her shop and made sure that every thing was just right then walking to the door Alfie turned the sign to read open. "I wonder how long it will take for someone to come in?"

Alfie went to the back to make some complimentary Cinnamon Rasion Bread, Anise cookies and a few Oatmeal cookies while she waited.

Scarlett wandered into Alfie's shop. She was sick with a cold and was lost without a walgreens to shop at. "Alfie," she kind of whined through a stuffy nose, "I think I have cold. What should I take."

Alfie looked into Scarlett's eyes to see just what would make her feel better.

"Well Scarlett I think you need the childrens breathing rub and my special Apple sauce with Horseredish in it. I know it sounds bad but you will only taste the Apple sauce."

Alfie went to the back a brought up the things. "Look Scarlett instead of the pimple remover how about me giving you the things you need instead?"

Scarlett was heartely glad that Alfie did not try to give her pimple remover. For one Scarlett obviously didn't need it. For two she was a horrible sick person and might have actually thrown a fit is Alfie had even suggested it. "It's alright Alfie since I don't need the pimple cream then I can surely pay for what I do need. I will get what you suggested and a pomegranet as well."

Alfie handed the reciept along with two Anise cookies. "Scarlett these cookies won't make your cold any worse."

Alfie smiled and then handed Scarlet a teaspoon of Apple sauce, "Scarlett please taste this."

Alfie then bagged up Scarlett's things as she waited for Scarlett to eat the Apple sauce.

"Umm," said Scarlett eager to take her first dose of medicine so that she could start feeling better. "You are right it tastes just like applesauce. And thanks for the discount," Scarlett said with her first smile since realizing she was sick this morning.

"Your wecome Scarlett, but you do know that the Breathing rub goes on your chest."

Alfie hoped that she didn't make Scarlett mad, but Alfie wanted to make sure that Scarlett used the rub the right way.

"Well Scarlett is there anything else I can do for you?"

Alfie then took a bowl of Ambrosia.

"Yeah Alfie I do, we have something in muggle land called Vicks and its the same. I should probaly put some on right away though, since I just took the cough medicine." Scarlett pulled aside her red and gold tie to undo a couple of buttons on her shirt. Other than Alfie the shop was empty so Scarlett wasn't overly concerned with her modesty. She put a generous dab of the rub on her chest and rubbed it in before straightening her clothes. She could already breath better. "Thanks again Alfie."

Alfie saw that Scarlett was going to put the rubb on and then when Alfie saw that Scarlett used so much Alfie was glad she had given her the baby type.

"Scarlett the next time you have a cold I can give you the adult strangth but you only need to put a pab on like you would perfume."

Alfie then looked around the shop wondering if anyone else would show up.

Scarlett laughed at he mistake. "I was thinking this worked like this stuff we have in muggle land called Vicks. Well I guess I will be able to breath now. But I will go easy on it next time."

Dream walked into the pharmacy, sniffling and trying not to cough. She walked up to Alfie and looked at her miserably. "Alfie... I dont feel well. I have a faint fever I think. And my nose is stuffed up AND runny at the same time, and I keep coughing. I dont know if it's a cold or the flu, but I want you to please make it go away right now." she said, her voice sounding stuffy.

Alfie smiled at Scarlett and then said, "Scarlett this is not Vicks, as you can see it is runny like an oil for that is what it is. Vicks is more of a paste type rub. As you can see this has a dober and you need only to dip it once and place it on your neck, just like an expensive perfume."

All of the sudden Alfie heard Dream come in coughing. Alfie listened closely to what Dream had to say and knew that Dream was having the same trouble as Scarlett.

"Oh Dream, you sound bad. I know just what you need."

Alfie quickly went to the back and came out with a small jar of breathing rub.

"Here you go." Alfie explained to Dream how to use it before she handed the rub over to her.

Please remember not to use this like the muggle rub Vick incase you have heard of it. This works a hundred times better."

Dream gave a miserable sniff and took the jar of breathing rub from Alfie. She twisted off the top of it and wrinkled her nose at the awful stench. "It stinks Alfie! I can't rub that stuff on me. I thought it was supposed to help me breath, not help me die!" she said as she quickly closed the jar again. She looked back and forth between the jar and Alfie's face, wondering if being healthy was really worth smelling that bad.

Alfie looked at dream puzzled. The rub smelled like pine and cedar.

"Dream I thought that you would like the smell of Pine and Cedar most people do."

Alfie then went to the back again and then handed Dream another rub that didn't work at good but smelled like Roses.

"I hope you like this one better. I must tell you that this one takes four times as long to work, but it does work."

Dream gave Alfie a sceptical look as the nurse took the jar back from her and said that it had the scent of pine and cedar. "Maybe it went bad or something..." she said. Whatever was wrong with it, it hadn't smelled anything like pine and cedar to her! Dream took the new jar from Alfie and opened it to smell. "Much better." she said. She was about to say that she would take it when Alfie told her that it would take four times as long to work. "Four times as long? What's the point of even using it then? I'll be over it by the time it even gets started then." she complained. She wasn't usually this bratty, but a sick Dream was a miserable Dream, and she liked to make sure that everyone knew it.

Alfie looked at Dream and shook her head.

"Dream the first one take 5 second to start working and you have to put some one every eight hours. This one takes 20 Second to start working and has to be reaplied every 2 hours."

Alfie know that Dream didn't understand the rubs for they were her own invention.

Smiling Alfie know that Dream would not but so upset.

Alfie then smelled the rub she had handed to Dream the first time and found that it must have been miss labaled for it was Skel-o-grow.

Running to the back again Alfie opened another bottle marked breathing rub and found that it was just that breathing rub.

"Here Dream smell this."

Alfie know as soon as Dream took a snif her nose, throat and cough would be better and Dream would want it.

Dream listened to Alfie and knew that she needed to get the rub. Then Alfie had her smell another jar. "Now THAT's Cedar and Pine!" she said as the crisp clean scent cut right through her stuffed up nose. "I'll take some of that Alfie! Can I also get a scoop of some peppermint? I have some honey at home and would love to have some peppermint tea for my throat as well." she said to her.

Alfie watched and waited for Dream to smell the pine and Cedar rub.

Dream took a deep breath and said that she would take it, then acted for a scoop of Fresh Peppermint.

Alfie came around the counter and got a scoop of pepperment then placed it on te counter.

"Dream is there anything else you would like? I have free samples of Ambrosia would you like some?"

Dream smiled at Alfie as she asked if she wanted a free sample of Ambrosia. "I'd love one! Is there any chance of buying a loaf of your cinnamon raisen bread too? I know you don't really sell that kind of stuff here, but I sure would love to taste some. It feels like forever since I've had some!" she asked hopefully.

Alfie smiled when Dream said she would love some Ambrosia and then asked if she could buy some of Alfie's Cinnimon bread.

"Dream if you will lift up that cover to your left you can have a couple of peices of the bread."

Alfie knew that Dream would be surprised that the bread was under the cover. Alfie had put a charm on it to make the smell stay inside until someone lifted it's cover.

"Maybe I should start selling my bread here, but then again I like having this to give to those that buy their medicines here."

Alfie then started making Dreams reciept for the items she was buying.

Dream's eyes lit up and she laughed in delight as she saw the tray of fresh cinnamon raisen bread. "You are a goddess, Alfie. I don't know how you do it, but I'm so glad." she said gratefully. She picked up a piece of the bread and knew that one wouldn't be enough. She greedily took another piece, knowing that Alfie wouldn't mind but that her hips might. She waited for Alfie to finish checking her out, already starting to feel better.

Let's see that's 1 jar Breathing Rub, 1 Scoop of fresh Peppermint a small cup of Ambrosia, and 2 slices Cinnimon Bread.

Dream gave Alfie the money for her purchases and then took her bags from Alfie. "Thank you so much, Alfie!" she said. She wanted to give Alfie a big hug of thanks but she was afraid of possibly getting her sick as well. She smiled at Alfie and gave her a small wave to say goodbye. Then she went to the door, adjusted her scarf to cover most of her face again, and walked outside of the store, and into the snow storm outside.

Alfie waved back at Dream. Then said, "hope you get feeling better soon Dream."

As Dream left Alfie started to check her stock even though she know that she hadn't ran out of anything yet.

All of the sudden Alfie remembered that one of the bottles was miss labeled so she desided to check everything to make sure that there weren't any more to be found.

Scarlett came into Alfie's shop with a list. "Hi Alfie, I am plannin' on takin' a trip home and I wanted to pick up some supplies before I go."

Alfie was happy to see that someone was coming into her store. It had been day's and no one seamed to need anything.

As Alfie looked up she saw SAcarlett walk in and say she was going to take a trip home for a bit and needed somethings.

Alfie smiled and said. "Well look around and if you need help just let me know.

Alfie quickly went to the back of the store to get Scarett a sample of a new hand lotion she just made. It worked good on Alfie's hands but she didn't know if it would work of other people.

When Scarlett came to the counter with the things she wanted Alfie rang it all up.

"Scarlett here is a sample of some hand lotion I made if you would be so kind as to try it and let me know what you think it would make me very happy."

Alfie then handed Scarlett her reciept.

Scarlett took the hand lotion and her things. "I certainly will try it Alfie, and thank you. It will get me a good excuse to come back into your shop and let you know how it works."

Alfie smiled and said, "I can hardly wait to see what you think of the hand lotion. Have fun on your trip home see you soon I hope."

Alfie then sat down wondering what else she could do to increase sales and get people to come in and at least look around.

It seemed like most people just didn't want to come to her store after all they did have the Apothacary to buy things from.

Oh well Alfie said to herself one of these days I'll get a brain strom and people will be dieing to get in the door.

Kim walked slowly into the shop and looked around. She had heard from some of the older students that Madame Pomfrey's was the best place to pick up anything herbal. Her dark head bobbed up and down as she stood on tip toe to look at all of the items on the shelves. She had planned on picking up some aloe vera before she headed down to the carnival. Her pale skin would never survive the summer sun! She had also heard of a sale going on and decided to take advantage.

She found the aloe vera poltice she was looking for and some disinfectant that she thought she could put good use to. Kim then walked over to the counter and placed her items on top. "Excuse me Alfie. I'd like to purchase these. I also heard of your sale so I brought some receits." she said handing the slips of paper to the shop keeper. "Any sugestions about what else a girl should stock up on to stay healthy?" she asked cheerfully trying to make conversation.

Alfie heard the bell on top of her door ring and hurried to get the last of a new produce ready for sale. She took 6 of the bottles and headed to the counter from the back room.

As Alfie placed the bottle down Kim headed to the counter with her purchases.

"Hello," Alfie noticed that the girl had picked out some Aloe vera poltice. "Oh that is so heavy compared to this."

Alfie held up a bottle of Green walnut hull juice. "If you are going to use that you won't get mush of a tan, but if it is for minor cuts that will do the trick. If you want protection from the sun and get a tan I would sugest this. It will give you a nice lite tan tent and protect you from the sun and it cost .50 cents less. oh and green walnut hull juice is a good bug repelant too. Oh I see you brought your reciepts with you I'll look them over and see if you bought them after July 10th. If you bought the things before I can't give you the tickets and I do so wish to give away the tickets. You think which you want the Aloe vera poltice or the Green Walnut hull juice while I do this, Okay."

"Thanks a lot Alfie!" Kim replied to the woman's suggestions. "I don't know how much tanning my skin will take, but extra sun protection is always welcome!" She exchanged the poltice for the Green walnut hull juice and recalculated her total. She was glad she had come here. She always loved it when shopkeepers knew their stuff. "The sale was a great idea. I can't wait to get started at the carnival" Kim told Alfie as she waited.

28 tickets for Madam Malkins, 3 for your purchases here, 1 just for buying something. So that makes a total of 91 tickets."
Alfie counted off 13 tickets and gave June the rest of the roll for the games and then gave her 4 for the rides. "Now enjoy the fun, and don't use them all in one place." Alfie let out a little laugh.

Giving Kim her receipt Alfie then said, "oh and don't forget to tell your friends."

June opened the door to Madame Pomfrey's Pharmacy and was immediately hit by a pleasant but unusual smell. Taking a deep breath she could smell of cedar, eucalyptus and baked goods, the smell was refreshing. She went up to the front counter to talk to Alfie.

Kim had told her about Madame Pomfrey's Pharmacy and how knowledgeable Alfie was about herbs and medicines. She had also mentioned a special give away for the carnival to get people in to look around. It worked, June was happy to have any excuse to go shopping.

“Hi Alfie!” June greeted the shop keeper with glee, “I am glad to see you again. My friend Kim came in here the other day and told me about a sun screen she purchased that would still allow her to get a tan, I am really interested in some of that.”
June loved being in the sun and the golden color of her skin showed it. She took good care not to burn and she was always trying different sun screen products.

“I am also having some issues will dust allergies,” June complained, “the Hufflepuff common room is so dusty it is health hazard. Do you have anything to help with allergies?” June usually just took muggle medicine but figured Alfie knew of something she would give it a try.

When June came in the shop Alfie was wiping off the counter around the Green Black Walnut hull juice jars.

Smiling at what June had asked Alfie said, "Hi, so you want some of this." Alfie picked up a jar and handed it to June. "Let's see you are having dust trouble. Dust can play havic on the sinases."

Alfie went to the left hand side of the store where there was a long shelf covered with rolls of small bottles. Looking at June Alfie said, "You sound like you are breathing pretty good right now, so tell me, How hard is it for you to breath in you common room?"

Knowing herbs and treatments like Alfie did she know that if she gave June something to strong June would have a nothere problem. I need to know if you nose get runny or stopped up."

Alfie was looking at possible treatments while waiting for June to answer.

Henry was walking around Diagon Alley looking for something to do. He decided to go shopping. So he walked ino Madame Pomfrey's Pharmacy. Henry walked up to the counter. "Hey, here's what I'd like please."

Alfie heard the bell above the door ring and look to see who it was. "Oh, Hi Henry,I'll be with you in a little bit i"m helping June right now."

Alfie then Looked back at June. "It looks like you might like a little time to think. Is threr something else you wanted to look at? I could help Henry first, and don't worry I still have over 500 game tickets and almost 300 ride tickets left."

Alfie hoped that June was ok. it hadbeen a few minutes sence she had said a word.

June gleefully took the jar of sun protectant, opened it up and smelled it. It did not smell like her normal coconutty sunscreen, but it didn’t smell bad.
“Thanks Alfie,” she said, putting the green walnut hull juice back down on the counter.
“The dust is really doing horrible things to my sinuses,” she said, answering Alfie’s inquiries, “I get all stuffed up and I feel all this pressure under and around my eyes.”
She looked at Alfie hopefully. June had always had dust allergies but the lack of activity in the Hufflepuff common room was making it worse than normal.
“I can breathe regularly when I am away from the dust, and hopefully we will have the dust problem taken care of soon, but it the mean time, I need some help. I will try what ever you suggest.”

Alfie listened to June as she explained the problem and then said, "I have just the thing for you. She found a jar that was 1 ounce and had a diluted vertion of Alfie's breathing rub. The jar was twice the size of the full strangth rub and cost the same as it did.

This should do the trick and be careful you need only a couple of drops on your neck where it indents and you will be breathing fine for hours. The rub smelled like Eucalyptus and Lavender which to Alfie wasn't a bad smell. "I would use it at night and wash it off in the morning before going to classes if you don't like the smell."

The sign below the potion said $.50 and a great price it was.

"This potion should last you for 2 to 3 years if used right."

Alfie then walked back to the counter. "Well do you have any reciepts from any other store for school suppies?" Alfie asked hoping to give more of the tickets away to a first year.

“Wow, really Alfie?” June was amazed that the little jar would last that long. “That is great, I will have to be careful not to use too much! Is it on sale?” With that she opened the second jar and took a deep breath. The smell was wonderful and she felt immediate relief under her eyes.
“That really works!” she exclaimed as she stoppered the jar, “I will definitely take both. I really appreciate the help Alfie, and I do have one receipt from July 14th at Madam Malkins. It is not a lot but I wanted to wait on books until I know what classes I am going to take.”
June took the receipt out of the pocket of jeans and handed it to Alfie as she got her money out to pay for her medicines, but she was not entirely sure how much she owed the shop keeper.
