Crys took a look around then carfully aimed the magnifying glass at the ants marching through the grass lakeside. Sure, she could use her wand, but where was the art in that? Setting ants on fire the muggle way was just plain funner. she could almost hear their little screams of terror and then gurgley sounds as they melted.
"Take that, exoskeletons!!!"

Leona was walking around the lake hoping to find one last excursion before it got to cold to do that kind of thing any more, when she encountered her bestest friend lighting some ants on fire. "CRYS!" She screamed running over to her an unintentionally squishing some of the ants that were on fire, Leo decided to dub that a mercy kill. "So what's up? How you doin'?" she wondered.

"nehhhh" Crys whined, sitting up on her legs and mock-glaring at Leo. "You're not supposed to mercy kill the things *I'M* punishing. These are MY ants. Your ants are over there being all gooood" she waves her hand to an ant hill a few paces away from her own.

"Oh ok," Leo said shooting a fireball from her wand at them, a wicked smile creeping across her face. The fireball caused an explosion and ants went flying everywhere. Leo held up her arms trying to keep flaming ants from her eyes. "I need to punish my ants quickly," Leo said before going off to find an ant she wanted to torture more than others.

"You know they say doing stuff like this is the first sign of a serial killer..." Crys says, deciding to be conversationable. "But I don't think Manson or Voldemort ever did ants so make we'll be famous as the Ant Murderers, oh, or the lakeside ant burners." She shrugs. "Cool stuff like that."

"Yup," Leo said as she enlarged an ant that she decided she was going to pick on, she began poking it with a stick as it fought back with it's pincers, "hey Crys! Get in on this action," Leo said as she fought the battle between herself and ant the ant. Dodging antenna left and right and poking it when she could.

"Did your mother ever teach you not to enlarge things that you've seen in horror movies before? Nothing smaller than us looks good when it's been enlarged! gah." She grabs a stick and fights with the ant as well.
"This is sstupid, why not just esplode it?"

"Oh good idea," Leo said dodging a pincer for the second time as she pulled back her wand and sent a spell at it that was supposed to explode him, but instead caused him to grow even more till he was as tall as the squid in the lake. "Oh snap," Leo responded noticing that now it looked REALLY dangerous.

"Oh nice shootin Tex!" Crys snapped, jumping up to dodge a pincer. "And you're a SIXTH YEAR?!" Crys ulled out her wand and pointed it at the ant. She howled "expeliarmus" and the ant was blasted back into the lake. Crys whistled loudly and the squid popped up, wrapping his tentacles around the ant and strangling it until it and the ant both sink back into the depths.
"there..."

Leona looked at amazement as the squid pulled down the giant ant in lake. "Wow, that was easy," Leo said with a huge grin, "let's do that again!" Leo shouted jumping up and down eager for Squiddy to p'wn some more devil ants. "I love squiddy!" Leo shouted wanting to make banners now

"No, no more gigantisizing ants for you! JUST SAY NO TO HUGE ANTS!" Crys sighs and sits down, resuming her previous venture: burning ants with a magnifying glass.
"So, then, how's that whole....thing with Dalejin? You know the whatchamacallit-Relationship, yeah."

"Um, It's good," Leo said sitting down in the damp grass, "he's been away for a while," Leo confessed feeling sad. She really did miss him, hopefully he'd be back soon so Leo can beat the snot out of him for leaving. "How's you and Cara, although I heard rumors, that a certain someone was picking on you," she said annoyed that anyone dare pick on her best friend.

"Can I admit this, it's embarassing to have Cara defend me. I mean...just on principle. But other than that...ok, I guess." Crys sits back too, looking up at the sky a little, not in the mood for burning things anymore.
"I'm sure you and Daley will be fine. You're both too stubborn to break up. Even you dumb Gryffys get happiness...." she smirks over at her friend. "Sometimes."

"Yeah," Leona said laughing some with Crys. "Well what are we going to do now that we're doin burninating the ants?" She asked her as she looked out at the lake wondering how the Ant was faring. It must suck to be that ant today. Going along with life, ten minutes ago it's biggest problem was finding food for the colony before the winter came.

Crys glanced over at the lake and whistled again. A tentacle rose up from the water and made complicated gestures. Crys walks over to the side of the lake and moves her hands over the water to make gestures to Squiddy. She then looks over to Leo.
"The ant's dead, but the kelpies are gonna eat well today. So you know...circle of life kinda thing."

Leona blinked at her friend not knowing that such a communication existed between squids, but hey, leave it to Crys to figure out a way. She was relieved that the giant ant 'o' death had finally kicked the bucket, "Well, what now? Should we enlarge a fly this time?" Leo wondered and was seriously tempted by it.

"You are not allowed to enlarge anything, now. You can't do it properly. Or responsibly." Crys said, toeing off her shoes and socks then tossing off her shirt and pants to reveal trunks and a black wifebeater.
"Wanna go for a dip? It's a nice temperature this time a year."

"I suppose," Leo said "as long as someone doesn't try eating me," she said in reference to the squid or merpeople she was ever wary of. She transfiggured her clothes into a pink and white polka dot bikini and dipped a toe into the water. No ill had come yet so she submerged her entire foot, then her other one.

Crys chuckled and dove in gracefully, slipping through the water as easily as a seal. Then she poked her head up to see Leo's progress and laughed.
"Come on now, you have to actually get wet SOMETIME today..."

"Well it's hard," she whined as she walked into the water until her feet couldn't touch the the ground and she was floating, bobbing her head up and down. "duh dum...dah dum...." Leo said floating aroud repeating it over and over pretending to be a sharky.

"Oi Leo, do you really think that's a good idea considering what may or may not be living in this stupid lake?" Crys asked, though she wasn't overly worried. She had Squiddy, and Squiddy kept the bad things at bay. Speaking of Squiddy...Crys dove down and hugged one of the long tentacles, smiling as the tentacle rose out of the water and lifted her high up into the air. She giggled, then let go and fell back into the water with a cannonball.

Leona had to admit it. She was so jealous of squiddy and Crys. She wished she had an awesome sea buddy to have adventures with. Sadly most creatures of the lake wanted her dead. Non the less she swam down to squiddy. She pointed to Crys, hoping he'd do the same thing for her.

Squiddy eyes Leona carefully for a moment before lifting his gaze to Crys. She makes some complicated motions, and he makes a wet sound before slowly and gently lifting Leona out of the water just as he had with Crys, only being more careful because apparently this one wasn't so good with water.
Crys nodded her approval of Squiddy's behaviour, watching her friend with a careful, knowing eye.

Leona giggled as she was gently tossed into the air by Squiddy. Instead of doing a cannonball like Crys, Leo attempted a pike. Her form was alright to the untrained eye, but she got the positioning of her elbows wrong. As she splashed back into the water, Leo raced to the surface for some much needed air. "Woo, that was nuts!" she shouted

Crys clapped and cheered for her friend, always happy to see Leona doing anything in water. Her friend was so infamously bad with it...
She swam over to Squiddy and patted him on the mantle, happy to be with her favorite non-Leo friend. Squiddy makes the squid version of a purr and bubbles happily.
