Remy: Slytherin's Official Future

Remy ran along the corridors of the castle. He had woken up late once again after spending the night at hogsmeade drinking firewhiskey with the other fourth years. It had been a blast seeing them after a long summer break but the headmaster would be furious if he missed the sorting hat ceremony again. Remy didn't know what the big deal was he had seen lots of whiny brats in his life and he didn't know why it mattered at all. He opened up the doors to the great hall just in time to see a small red headed girl, with green eyes in a gypsy dress sitting on the stool with the sortin hat on her head. "Gryffindor" the hat shouted as Remy stood by awestruck by her beauty.

Dream had never been so excited in her life. Or nervous. After all, she had been waiting her whole life for this moment. She had been raised on and off at Hogwarts because of the fact that her father was the Headmaster, but this would be her first time attending the school and actually living in the castle. It was her first time taking the boat over to Hogwarts instead of the thestrals. She had spent the whole time on the Hogwarts Express getting to know other first years and starting to make friends. By the time she had reached Hogwarts, she had already made a good friend named Molly. Dream and Molly stood next to each other in line as they waited for their turn with the Sorting Hat. Dream was especially nervous about this considering that both of her parents were from the house of Gryffindor. She felt that if she didn't make it into Gryffindor, she would disappoint them. She watched as Molly got sorted into Hufflepuff and she let out a small sigh of disappointment. After a couple more people were called up finally it was Dream's turn. She heard her mother call out her name and she saw her father look directly at her. This was it, the moment that would define Dream's future at Hogwarts. She forced herself to look confidant as she walked up to the Sorting Chair and she tried not to flinch as the Sorting Hat clamped down onto her head. She started shaking after the Hat was silent. She knew that she could be mean enough to be a Slytherin but she also knew that her mother would hate it if she made it into the Slytherin house. The door to the Great Hall opened suddenly and Dream looked up to find herself staring into the dark eyes of an older boy wearing Slytherin robes. For a small second she hoped that she would be chosen as a Slytherin so she could meet him. "GRYFFINDOR!" the hat said and Dream stared at the boy for another moment before looking away and getting off the chair. She could feel her parents approval as she walked over to the cheering Gryffindor table. She looked at the doors one more time, to say goodbye to the boy that she would never know.

Remy walked to his house table and sat down between two slytherin. "how many did we get this year" he said looking at a 6th year boy. "Five, three boys and two girls" he responded and remy nodded his head. The rest of the sorting was boring as the professors and headmaster explained all the don'ts and can'ts. He knew he shouldn't be so rude but after hearing basically the same speech for four years one tended to get bored. Finally the sorting was over and he nudged one of his freinds as he grabbed a spoon and filled it up with pudding and sent it flying at the ravenclaw table.

Dream watched the rest of the Sorting Hat ceremony, applauding politely when required. She was starving though and couldn't wait to be able to eat. She had missed lunch because she hadn't wanted to eat any candy. She listened to her father's speech and just shook her head. There were even more rules now than there had been for her before she attended the school! Dream knew that there was just no way that she would be able to follow them. Especially since she'd already been in the areas that her father was saying were off limits. There was no way that Dream wasn't going to go visit the merfolk at night for their autumn carnival, or miss the centaurs next ritual. Luckily she'd learned a long time ago how to sneak about the castle and grounds. Finally they were able to eat and Dream quickly put some turkey on her plate. She heard some loud laughter that was tinged with cruelty and she looked up to find some boys at the Slytherin table throwing food at the Ravenclaw table. One of the boys was the one that Dream had seen earlier. She shook her head and gave him a look of disgust before turning to talk to the third year boy sitting next to her.

Remy looked at the turkey in front of him and it only made him miss his mother's home cooked meals even more. The house elves were good but nothing compared to his mothers. He got up from his chair and waved goodbye and began his walk towards the door. He walked past the gryffindor table and smirked as he saw the gypsy girl with a third year. "it's a shame you got stuck in this worthless house Red, I bet your parents are really dissapointed. Oh well we can't all be the ruling class of this place now can we" he said with a laugh.

Dream was still talking to the third year when someone walked past her. She hadn't seen who it was, but she could feel that it was the Slytherin boy walked past her. She was the only person around with red hair so she knew that he was talking to her. Hearing him call her Red and his comment about her house and her parents, she spun around to glare at him with bright green eyes that sparked in fury. She was about to retort when she saw her mother staring at her in warning. She tightened her jaw and acted like she was going to tun away but instead she pointed her wand at the boy and performed a Color Change Charm which turned his hair bright pink. Everyone at the Gryffindor table began roaring in laughter while she stared at the Slytherin with a smirk on her face.

Remy saw the little girl take out her wand and his hand went to his robe pocket and wrapped around his wand. He heard the spell and knew it was a worthless one but he didn't know what color she had picked til a strand of his hair fell over his eyes. "Pink? wow nice choice Red. Your lucky im in a good mood so today and pink is my favourite color so today you don't die. He gave the other laughing gryffindors a look and they instantly shut up. "My name is Remy learn it well because I am without a doubt the best thing going today" he grinned as he continued talking to the red headed gypsy.

Dream couldn't help the smile on her face at Remy's arrogant comment. Seeing the look of surprise on the faces around her though, she quickly wiped it off her face. "Remy the Sloserin, huh? Well you can just call me Nightmare cause that's all I'm ever going to be to you, so why dont you leave me alone and go join the rest of your worthless house of hissing babies." she said, not caring that she was insulting someone who had be learning magic longer than she had. "ENOUGH!" came a voice that Dream knew so very well. Gryffindor's Head of House Lianslo aka Dream's mother was striding up to them looking fit to be tied. "Detention! For BOTH of you!" she said to Dream and Remy. Then she gave Dream that LOOK. "As for you young lady, I'm very disappointed in you! Starting trouble on your first day at the school. You havent even been here for two hours yet! Your father and I told you that your trouble making ways were to stop once you started school!" she said angrily. Dream glared at Remy spitefully before lowering her head and dropping her eyes. "Yes Ma'am." she said dutifully as she starting biting the corner of her lower lip.

Remy stopped and looked at the gryffindor head girl. "Hey wait a minute why do i have detention? Cause you couldn't keep your brat of a offspring to shut her yap. I doubt any of her freinds would recognize her with her mouht shut." he said frustrated. He took his wand out of his robe and smirked "you want to give me detention, well i'll give you a reason to give it to me then" he cackled as he raised his wand at the gypsy girl. Suddenly his wand left his hand and he saw it fly to lianslo's hand. "Hey no fair" he shouted angrily.

Dream's wand was out and pointed at Remy before he could even finish threatening her mother. "Stupify!" she said, hoping to god that she had gotten the spell right. Then she realized that her mother was now holding Remy's wand. She winced as she realized how much trouble she was going to be in now since she had cursed the Slytherin in front of her mom. She could hear all of the Gryffindors and Slytherins nearby gasping and whispering amoung themselves and she knew that she and Remy had just become the talk of the school. "DREAM GREY COLLINS! What in the world did you think you were doing?" her mother shrieked at her. Dream felt her jaw quiver as she had to fight back tears. Her nostrils flared a little as she clenched her jaw shut in order to fight back the tears. There was NO WAY that she was going to cry in front of this Sloserin jerk!

Remy suddenly saw a blinding flash of light then darkness. He woke up to find himself sitting in a desk with a blanket around himself. He looked around and saw he was now in the detention class with professor Twycross. "so im in detention figures i'd miss the fireworks tonight" he said angrily as he kicked the chair next to him. "at least the imbecile gryffindork isn't here" he said as he heard a sigh behind him.

Dream had been marched out of the Great Hall by her mother followed by a floating unconcious Sloserin. She had heard nothing but scolding from her mom as they walked to the Detention Hall. She couldn't believe that she already had detention. She was sure that she had just made the school record for faster detention. She sighed, knowing that it would be the first of many. Her mom dumped her off in the room and the Professor overseeing the detention put Remy into a seat. Dream took a seat behind him that way she wouldnt have to see his face. She gave a small sigh of annoyance and hoped that he would sleep through the detention that way she wouldn't have to hear his voice either.

Remy got up and walked over to the gypsy girl. "Ok since were obviously going to be here for a while whats your story Red? how can lianslo be your mother she's marrried to the headmaster and yea that would mean you were his daughter" he said as he started to laugh "omg the headmaster has a daughter that is so funny" he laughed so hard tears came out of his eyes. He ignored the writing on the board that had waht he was suppose to be doing while in detention.

Dream stared nonpulssed at Remy. Why did he keep talking to her? She was a first year Gryffindor. He wasnt supposed to want to be anywhere near her, but here he was seeking her out again. She remembered that moment during the Sorting Hat ceremony and she gave a small shiver that she hoped he wouldn't notice. "Dont call me that! What's it to you? Why do you care and why would I tell you anything about myself?" she asked haughtily as she stared at the board and started trying to concetrate on what she was supposed to be doing. Hopefully if she didn't look at him, he would get bored and go away.

Remy grinned then moaned really loud. The professor ran to him and asked him waht was wrong "oh my did she curse you again" she asked him. Remy shook his head and said "No but i think i have food poisoning, those house elves always mess up the dishes remember last year when you got diarrhea from eating those mashed potatoes" he said softly. "I think i have to go to my room and lay down but i'll stay here and tough it out because us slytherin are tough" he finished. "no, no your right you have to get your rest go to your dorm. I'll say you finished your detention earlier than expected" she said smiling at him.

Dream stopped what she was doing when she heard Remy starting give an excuse to get out of detention. The Professor obviously bought it because she told him that his detention was cut short. Dream jumped up out her seat in outrage. "He's faking it! If he gets to leave, then I'm gonna leave!" she yelled. She couldn't believe that the Professor was going to fall for such a lousy trick. It was completely ridiculous and Dream wasn't going to have it. Suddenly Dream lost her balance and fell to the floor, sprawled in a heap and not moving, her short red hair falling on her face. The professor cried out in alarm and kneeled down next to Dream.

Remy saw Red fall down and he groaned. "stupid imbecile" he cursed under his breath as he took his wand out and said "episkey" he saw the little gypsy girl begin to wake up and saw the professor look at him. "well not as sick as we thought we were are you. good cause now you can stay and finish off your detention." she smiled at remy. Remy glared at the newbie and walked to the front and sat down angrily pulling out his parchment and quill.

Dream heard Remy say Episkey and she almost felt bad for duping him. Almost. She played her part well and pretended to wake up slowly. She heard the Professor say that Remy wasnt as sick as he had said and she watched Remy go back to his seat. Dream waited until the Professor had helped her up and walked away before smirking at Remy smugly. She had just played him at his own game, and she had won. He had better get used to it too.

Remy looked at the smirk on the red heads face and said nothing. He was really beginning to hate her now and he felt sorry for any person who had to spend any time with her. He shook his head and wondered how sad it must be to have a daughter who was in taht pathetic house, he couldn't wait to get married and have plenty of slytherin son's yes that was what his future held. A beautiful blonde and two sons.

Dream's bright green eyes twinkled and lit up her face as gave Remy a slow smile of delight as she saw that he was speechless for the first time since she'd met him. He was already learning, and maybe now he would leave her alone and stop asking her personal questions about herself. She sat down in her seat and picked up her parchment and quill and looked up to the board but instead met the eyes of the Professor. She had been caught looking like the cat who got the canary. "Miss Collins, since you and Mr Salinas are having so much fun at my expense today, I will go ahead and stretch your fun out for you both a little longer. I'll expect you both here every day for the next five days. I would suggest that you both start behaving properly in order to keep your time from extending further." she said. Dream stared at the Professor in horror. "You cant be serious! You want me to be with HIM every day this week?" she said, completely appalled at the suggestion.

Remy ignored the comments dream was making as he stood up and handed his papers to the professor. "I would be honoured to come and spend detention with such an interesting professor such as yourself. I have finished writing all the sentences for today so unless you have something more for me to do I think im done here" he said as he waited to see what the professor would say. Remy was a fast writer when he was focused on it.

Dream had just finished writing her lines when Remy got up to turn his in. She growled that he had beaten her by a split second. She walked up and stood directly behind Remy. Which was a mistake because for a Sloserin he smelled damn good. Dream quickly stepped back away from him and walked to the other side of the desk and placed her own papers on the desk in front of the professor. Then she turned around and walked back to her desk, her skirt brushing against Remy's legs as she passed him to sit at her desk again.

Remy winced as he felt dream's second hand gypsy dress brush against his leg. "And here i thought Madam Malkin's had all the rundown clothes, did your mommy make taht for you Red? he said laughing as he looked at the professor then at the door. Seeing her nod he walked towards it then stopped and looked back at the gypsy girl. She was an odd one that one have pity on whoever fell in love with her he thought as he wondered who would ever be that dumb.

Dream ignored Remy's comment as she walked to her desk and gathered up her things. Detention was over for the day, but unfortunately she would have to see him the next day. She walked out of the room behind him and once outside the door she gave him a hard shove in his back. "No Rainy Salinas. Actually my parents dont live off welfare like yours do." she said with a quirk of her perfect eyebrow. She turned away and saw that Molly and the third year boy, Fred that she had been talkng to were waiting outside for her. "What was that about?" he asked her as he wrapped his arm around her waist. Dream would have slapped him off of her if Remy hadn't been there, but since he was, she stayed where she was and pretended that she liked his attention.

Remy saw the gypsy girl walk away with her freinds and he grinned. He still did not know her name but at least he knew she was the headmasters daughter. He had no idea how she had found out his name in such a short amount of time seeing as he had never said his last name and the professor had not either nor ws there anything anywhere in the room with his last name. He wondered if the headmaster talked about him and if that was where she had heard his name. He walked over to the headmasters office and saw it closed. Grinning he took a small parrot out and put it on the floor. He smiled as it began naming off random words from the dictionary until it got to the password. Remy had known teaching it all the words was a great idea. He walked in the room looking for the gypsy girl's name and saw a picture of her, a younger girl, the headmaster and lianslo. He grabbed it and put it in his pocket and kept on looking. He spotted an old box and opened it up hoping to find some paperwork but found an old cloak instead. He grinned and put it on and walked over to the mirror to look at himself. Seeing nothing at first he was shocked but then realized it was one of the invisibilty cloaks he had heard stories about. He smiled and walked out of the room forgetting he still did not know the gypsies name.

Dream waited until Remy was out of site before pushing Fred off of her. "Dont grab me like that again." she said to him angrily. Then she looked at Molly and moved her head to suggest that they leave. Molly nodded and Dream looped her arm through hers and they quickly ran through the castle until they had to split up to go to their respective common rooms. Dream felt like a complete outsider as she was surrounded by the other people in her house. All they could talk about was her. Whether it was about the scene she'd caused with Remy or the fact that she was the Headmaster's daughter. Dream glared at them all and ran upstairs to her assigned dorm room. She yanked the curtain closed around her bed and wished that she could have brought one of her animals to the school with her. They never failed to cheer her up when she was miserable.

The next day Remy walked over to the lake and smiled as he saw the other kids playing in the lake. He was about to join them when he realized waht time it was. groaning he walked back to the detention hall cursing up a storm under his breath. He really hated that gypsy girl but there was someting about her he couldn't put his finger on. He couldn't stop thinking about her eyes and the way her hair blew in her face as .....gaw waht was wrong with him she had probably put a spell on him because he shouldn't be thinking about her at all.

Dream had spent the day avoiding as many people as she could since they all seemed to know who she was now. She had snuck out into the forest and practiced her animal telepathy powers and would have stayed there if it hadn't been for the fact that she had happened to look at her clock. She gave a soft growl as she realised that she had to leave the animals to go for another detention. Her ears were still ringing from the lecture that her father had given her last night. She sighed and got up and started walking towards the Detention Hall. Hopefully Remy would have come up with another lame excuse to get out of detention so she wouldn't have to see him again. She finally reached the room and reached out her hand to pull open the door.

Remy got there just in time to see the gypsy girl opening the door so he turned around and walked around a bit before returning to the class. He oopened the door and walked to the front of the class. "What do i have to do today" he said as he wanted to get out of here as soon as he could. The less he had to spend with the gypsy girl the less her spell could take effect.

Dream pulled open the door and was relieved to see that Remy wasn't there. Hopefully he really did get out of it. She sat down in the same desk as the day before and immediately started working on her lines. After a little while the door opened and she didn't look up even though her heart jumped and she could feel the electricity elevate in the room. It was him, but he wasn't going to bother her today.. Nope. She was just going to pretend that he wasnt there and hurry up and leave.

Remy took his parchment out and began doing lines. He was barely starting when he stopped and walked over to the professor. He handed her a note that excused him from tomorrows detention as he had quidditch practice. He smile was quickly erased as the professor calmly took out a wand and made tomorrows lines come out and told him to do both sets today. "aww that is so not fair" he shouted angrily as he walked back to his desk and sat down.

Dream continued to write her lines quickly and efficiently despite the temper tantrum that Remy was starting. She was almost done with all of her lines, just another page to go which meant she'd be out of there within twenty minutes. She looked up at the clock and saw that she would be out in time to still take a swim in the lake. She quietly continued writing. After awhile she stood up and walked over to the professor's desk and handed her the completed lines. The professor nodded and inclined her head towards the door of the room. Dream grabbed her stuff and walked to the door, giving Remy a smug little wave while hoping his double lines would make him miss dinner.

Remy finally finished off his lines and walked to the great hall. "wat do you mean the kitchens closed?" he yelled out angrily. "I just got out of detention" he said as the moonlight shone into the room. "how is that my fault i was doing what i was supose to do" he yelled angrily as he began to feel a wind start up. He walked away wondering why that wind had started up. It seemed to always start up when he got angry. And with no food to eat he ws really angry he didn't know if he could make it til morning wiht no food.

Dream had missed dinner because she had gotten delayed at the lake. Now she was starving and she was cold since all she was wearing was her bikini and a towel. She couldn't wait to learn magic so she could Accio things to her. She snuck into the castle and walked towards the kitchens in order to get some food. She knew the house-elves entrance and knew that they would always feed her no matter what time it was. As she reached the kitchens, she couldn't believe her awful luck. There was Remy. "What are YOU doing here?" she demanded impatiently.

Remy walked out of the great hall and was walking along the corridors when luck brought him face to face with the gypsy girl. He said nothing as he made his way past her but his stomach answered for him grumbling loudly. He sighed and continued down the hallway. Maybe he could get some berries from the forest he thought as he walked towards the main door of the castle.

Dream watched Remy ignore her and she told herself that it was good and to let him go but she had heard his stomach growl and she was too curious for her own good. She ran after him and stood in front of him to block his way. "Where are you going? If you're hungry then just say so. I can get you some food, and it wont be poisoned. Even I dont want a vile but living beast to die of starvation." she said.

"Just leave me alone ok, i've had noting but bad luck since you got here so why don't you look for that other boy who couldn't help keeping his hands off you and leave me the hell alone" he said angrily as teh random wind came back again. He didnt wait for her to answer him as he walked out of the castle

Dream stared at him as he yelled at her. She didn't know why she even wasted her time trying to be somewhat decent to him. Then he stormed off and she shivered as became even colder from a breeze that popped up unexpectedly. She couldnt wait for this week to be over with that way she never had to be anywhere near him again! She stormed into the kitchens and startled the house-elves inside but they quickly recovered their composure and soon she was sitting in the kitchen eating shredded beef enchiladas, with rce and beans. It was one of Dream's favorite dinners and she was glad that it hadnt been ruined by a loud mouthed punk like Remy.

Remy was eating some berries when he heard a loud noise. He went to investigate and saw a small mountain lion cub and went to see why it was making taht loud racket. He picked it up to see if it was hurt when he heard a low growl. He turned around and saw a large mountain lion looking at him and he put the cub down. "Now look here i was just helping him out or her whatever it is i didnt even look" remy said as he backed away.

Dream finished her dinner and went to her room where she changed into a black skirt and an oversized fluffy black sweater. She pulled her hair up into a ponytail and grabbed her cloak, moving quietly so she wouldnt wake up her dormmates. Then she snuck down the stairs and out of the castle. She had found a secret passageway a long time ago that would allow her to go from the 7th floor down to the first floor without having to deal with Filch or Peeves. She snuck out of the castle and headed down to the forest. The moon was full tonight and she had planted some belladonna a couple of months ago that would be perfect tonight to pick for potions.
