Title: Which movie has been your fav.one out of the five?
Description: anyone is allowed to state their opinion

smc - August 26, 2007 05:09 AM (GMT)
Hey,this thread is just to ask you guys which movie ya'll liked the best. We all or probably all love the books,so what about the movies? State your opinions honestly but nicely. We all like myself probably think that they cut them way too short! But post your replies as liking them or not and why. Then tell which is your fav. movie and what you would like to change in them. You guys don't have to do it in this order either...HAVE FUN!!!

My Response:
I like some of the Harry Potter movies, but think they could be made a bit longer that they are. They cut out so much of the senes that it really makes me confused. I hate looking for something to happen and then it doesn't in the movies. My fav. movie is The Order Of The Pheonix. I would probably just add more of the book senes to the movies so they made more sence.

OK!! UR TURN!! :P

Jahn Van Koeverden - August 26, 2007 03:05 PM (GMT)
I agree with the cutting thing. They cut out way too much. My favorite movie? Hmm, that's a hard one. I'll have to say Order of the Phoenix for now.

smc - August 26, 2007 04:32 PM (GMT)
Yea,they cut out so much till it's a lot shorter than it's supose to be. I like the Fifth movie too, because it has more action to it than the others do.I also love the special effects in this movie but also in the other ones too. ^_^

hot - August 30, 2007 01:40 AM (GMT)
Yeah I do agree that they cut out a lot of stuff, and I also noticed that they weren't quite as accurate with some of the stuff. But of course if they were going to make these movies as accurate as the books they would be 16 hour movies. Personally I wouldn't mind sitting through that. I might get tired after a while, but it's Harry Potter! Though I would have to say that so far my favorite movie is the Order of the Phoenix.

smc - August 30, 2007 01:50 AM (GMT)
Yea I got to agree on the whole sitting through the HP movies! I luv to watch them and even some times wish they were longer. Everyone seems to luv the newest movie, but do you guys think the next one will be just as good? I believe the closer we get to the end, they'll get better.

hot - August 30, 2007 04:24 PM (GMT)
Well I would hope that they get even better! But it seems like since they've had 4 different directors so far, and each director has a different 'vision' of how they want the movies to be, so you can tell that the movies so far are all slightly different from each other in some way. The first two movies were very much alike, but once you hit the third one they start to get different. The lighting is different. They add unnecessary stuff just to make it more interesting. The make-up and costume's change slightly. And a whole host of other little things.

My fav. was the 1st and 2nd ones. The director in thoes films stayed true to the books the best.

I also don't like the newer films as much cuz they tend to take too long on the things that don't matter as much, like I got bord when waiting for Fred and George to leave in the last movie. i was like 'Ok, they can leave now.' I wish they would have spent more time in Grimmuld place, and at least mentioned SPEW.

The thing that really bothers me is DD. He is so violent! I thought Harry was going to be killed in the 4th film in the trophy room by him. But DD is nolonger calm. i don't want to see him get killed cuz DD isn't good, and I wont feel too bad for him cuz he acts evil himself.

Does anyone get what I'm sayin'?

smc - August 30, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
I think ur right on how the other two movies were, but I don't understand wut u mean on the rest. The movies in my opinion need one director all the way through the set of them. As of wut ur talking about at the bottom,I have no clue. sry! ^_^

Ez-Bake oven - August 31, 2007 09:18 PM (GMT)
Well that's ok. sometimes my friends don't get what I'msaying either. Heck, sometimes i don't get what I say!

smc - August 31, 2007 11:18 PM (GMT)
HEHE! Well, let me ask you what couple would you put together if they already wasn't together? That seems like something to discuss. I think Luna and Neville would make the best couple. You can read back and see why with mine and Emilie's discussions. So which one's would you put together, but they can't already be together now. Also try and tell me why too...the both you you if you want to. ^_^

RNCybergate - September 1, 2007 04:54 PM (GMT)
My most favorite HP film to date is the prisoner of Askaban.

The Goblet of Fire and The order of the Phoenix are two good films but they are way too short.
Why can't they just make the films 3 hours instead of 2?

The 5th book was the longest of all of JK's books but was only given 2 hours, the same as the much smaller Sorcerers stone.

This really ruins most good films as a lot of important scenes are always taken out.
Scenes which a lot of people where looking forward to.

I say, make the films three hours long and put in as much as you can or don't do it at all. (over all do it right)

If they can do it for LOR they can do it for HP.

Ez-Bake oven - September 1, 2007 07:02 PM (GMT)
I agree with you! And what really bothers me is when they waist there time on the stuff that isn't as important and make it funny instead of working on the stuff that isn't as funny but is more important.

smc - September 2, 2007 05:23 AM (GMT)
I agree with the both of you guys too. It's like they put a lot of time on making it funny, but then it doesn't get the serious time it needs. That's why my fav. is the newest, they made it more serious and I like the special efects. I think they just ruin it by doing these little stupid things they probably think isn't that important.

I couldn't agree more.

The latest one had great special effects, but it was WAY TOO SHORT!

I mean, they'd built the sets and assembled the cast, why not give us a full 3 hours? It's not like they're going to lose money on it or anything.

I saw on our Leaky Cauldron.net site that they're planning to add 10 whole minutes of "deleted scenes" to the DVD. That's an okay start, but it will still the shortest movie yet, by at least 5 min. They could still do better!

smc - September 7, 2007 02:46 PM (GMT)
I agree with you once more on this too. I mean yea the deleted scenes are going to be funny to watch, but I'd much rather have the full movie than the special features. I mean the books are really awesome and the movies are ok, but they could totally make more money if the movies were better. The books are twice as long, and although they can't have 4 to 6 hour movies, why not put in as much as possible to make it better for the fans? I think if they aren't going to make them longer at least make the last one long and really good those are my opinions. ^_^

Ez-Bake oven - September 14, 2007 03:35 AM (GMT)
Luna and Neville. They just seem right together.

smc - September 14, 2007 03:20 PM (GMT)
CHAYEA! I totally agree! They are both off beat and just look absolutely adorable together! I mean two people smart, great friends of Harry's, friends of each other, and who have a total vibe together makes a wonderful couple! I wonder why they didn't make them get together in the movies?! They would definately be in the top 5 best couples if you ask me!

dreamdancer7699 - September 30, 2007 08:22 AM (GMT)
My favorite movie would actually be Chamber of Secrets and then OotP. Dont ask me why because I cant tell you. I just liked the way it was shot, the timing of the events and the sequences. I agree about the too short thing. I can understand not wanting a film that long in the movie theaters especially when they're technically kids movies and it's hard for younger kids to sit through that long of a movie, however they could easily still film it in long version, edit it and sell a directors cut, charge mroe for it, and let us choose between the theater version, or the longer version.

hot - November 21, 2007 05:05 PM (GMT)
I didn't think that the third movie was very close to the books at all. It was all out of order and stuff's been changed and added and all. The first two movies were very good. They both changed some of the causes for certain things, but kept the same effect.

The fifth movie was also very good. The special effects were awesome. I just don't like that Daniel Raddcliff (yeah i know i spelled it wrong) cut all his hair off, he looks weird!

mhd82092 - November 23, 2007 12:29 AM (GMT)
I love all of the Harry Potter movies. I always whatch the movies over and over agian. I've seen them all the day they've come out in theathers except for Prisoner Of Askaban. I've also bought them all on dvd the day they've come out. I like Harry Potter And The Order Of The Pheonix the most. I think it's the most exciting one. It's also the funniest one. It could be a little long though.

smc - December 21, 2007 08:46 PM (GMT)
I agree with Dream, but I believe any real fan of HP wouldn't mind sitting in a theater for a hour longer. I mean it would totally make the movies better. Good idea though also about the buying a longer version. I would do it. Also the whole HP having shorter hair is different to me to, but he is all the same cute in my book. Also I just purchased the new dvd and the special features weren't the best either. To me I believe they should have just skipped all that stuff and filmed a longer movie.

hot - December 22, 2007 01:09 AM (GMT)
Maybe I'll start a protest or something for longer movies.... *schemes evily*
I totally agree with Ari. Longer movies would make them better and they could afford a little bit more detail. Some of the movies kinda go off the original plot a little and I think that might be due to the fact that they try not to make them more than a couple hours long.

smc - December 23, 2007 12:28 PM (GMT)
I think I like the sound of your protest! I'll join! No, but I mean did you see the special features on this dvd? To me they were very stupid, and well they could have used some of that to to make the movie longer. All us fans want is about an hour added on to the movies and for them to go along with the books as much as possible. They act like it is so hard for them to add anything or anymore time.

hot - December 26, 2007 01:07 AM (GMT)
Yeah I saw the special features, they were kinda stupid and pointless. All I want is a movie that does the book justice. I don't care how long it is as long as it includes all the important stuff. Though longer would be better...

smc - December 26, 2007 01:40 AM (GMT)
I know to me the longer the better! I mean it would be the best movie ever! I bet you anything it would get an award! Ari starts day dreaming into the future.....
And yea the SF were stupid. <_<

Professor Rogue - December 26, 2007 09:48 AM (GMT)
You two just had such a good conversation going, I had to step in and add my thoughts! :P

I haven't seen the special features yet, seeing as I don't have the Dvd, but I'm not all surprised that they were a disapointment. Let's face it, there probably weren't that many deleted scenes to beging with given the fact that so much was cut. Which is a huge blow to us.

Totally agree. A lot of times, anytime they make a book into a movie, it's usually a flop because they cut so much out or change things around. As big as Harry Potter is, they really need to be careful. Prisioner of Azkaban is my favorite book, and yet the movie was a complete disapointment. SO much was cut, and it's not that it was cut, but for anyone who didn't read the book would be totally confused because some of the plot just didn't make logical sense.

I understand that the books are long, but if would just pick the really important stuff in the movies, no matter what the lenght, it would be really good.

smc - December 26, 2007 09:02 PM (GMT)
My point exactly! I think that HP fans would be so thrilled to have a better movie that they wouldn't mind the lenght of time they had to sit in the theater to watch it. It would have to be the best one yet also if they done it, and they would definately make more money on it than the ones already produced. I think they ought to at least do the last movie that way for the fans if no one eles, I mean hey if it wasn't for the fans HP wouldn't be such a hit. ^_^
