Title: The Hogwarts Obituaries
Description: SPOILER!

Stripes - July 23, 2007 09:12 PM (GMT)
Here you can post a few words about a character that died, while we lay to rest those that fought and died bravely protecting the great Harry Potter. You might need a hanky.
A tribute to Severus Snape, the bravest of them all.
I would like to say a few things in honor of Severus Snape. Snape spent his life sacrafising what he loved for the cause. It's no wonder he hates Harry, for from the moment he set eyes apon him, he saw James, and his haveing Lily's eyes could not have helped. He watched the woman he love go of with a man he hated, and till death he still loved her. Snape killed one of his gret friends, Albus Dumbledore, and everyone hated him for it. He was only doing what needed to be done, and nobody apreciated how terrible he must feel, how hard it was for him. And Harry calls him a coward, when he was truely the bravest of all, willing to do everything for the defeat of evil, all for a boy who would rather see him dead. Snape only saught forgivness for all he had done wrong, as so many of us do. Let us all remeber Snape, the man who we should all truely be like, willing to put others first, always, even when it does not make yourself happy. And let us hope he, in death, has finally found the redemption and forgivness, he so wanted and was denied in life.
"Hear, Hear" *Raisies his glass* " To
Severus snape, the bravest of them all!
"

Twilight - July 23, 2007 10:27 PM (GMT)
"Right on!" says Twilight, sobbing. She raises her glass of firewhiskey and passes the bottle. "To
Severus Snape! They couldn't have done it without him! May his portrait forever hang in the headmaster's office!

And to Stripes' obituary, I'd like to add: "May he finally find the love and friendship that he was denied in life." (more sobbing!)
Stripes - July 24, 2007 12:46 AM (GMT)
Yes. *raises glass*
May we all remember the man that continued to save Harry's life, only to continue to not be trusted. He was a great guy. *Stripes agrees with twilight, that he should forevr remain in his portrait next to Dumbledore, the two greatest headmasters of Hogwarts*
*wails and wears black in mourning*

Who would like to speak for the
dead weasley twin
dreamdancer7699 - July 25, 2007 07:16 AM (GMT)
Dream approached the podium, her bottom lip quivering as she tried to keep her composure. She slowly lifted the black veil from her face and dabbed her eye with a black lace handkerchief.
To my dearly departed, most beloved Fred Weasley... The world is a hollow place without you in it, but still not as hollow as my heart. You were a star not of this planet, so it's hardly a shock that you weren't meant to stay here for long, however your demise was still a blow to my soul. I shall miss your smile, and your laugh, and that oh so adorable cocky smirk that you gave. Mankind will miss your wit and your humor, and the wizarding world will never laugh quite as hard as it used to before your absence. You were a brave, loyal and wonderful person. You leave behind a mournful twin, a devoted mother, a loving family and devastated fans. Your pranks and the sound of your laughter will forever reside in a special place in my heart. We will miss you sorely.
As tears stream silently down her face, she steps down from the podium and walks back to her seat.

Stripes - July 25, 2007 07:26 AM (GMT)
Here here! *raises glass*
To Fred, who's purpose in life was to make people smile, to the very end.

Agreed and well said to those of the above posts. I offer my butter beer in salute to such true words and feel humbled in the face of such truths.

And now I feel the obituaries should include a word for,
A word for the ever understated but well loved Remus Lupin. As alumni of the illustrious school of witchcraft, Hogwarts, it is only right that he should take his place as upstanding student-cum-hero among the Hogwarts obituaries. Remus lead a rough life. As is now well known, he was a werewolf. This transformation was brought on to Mr. Lupin at a very young age. He told us later of how the attack had been arranged by Fenrir Greyback as punishment for his parents. Scars and lonely full moons were to haunt Remus for the rest of his days.

However, while attending school Remus had the fortune to meet and stand among the Gryffindor's, befriending a select few that future generations could know as the 'Marauders.' It seems this was a time of happy memories. However, post school a war raged and Remus was driven under cover. He would later come back at Dumbledore's behest to teach the students of Hogwarts, and stand among the best Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers that Hogwarts has ever seen. He left of his own accord after a year as news of his debilitating werewolf syndrome reached the public; he did not want to cause a scare.

During the second war effort, Remus fought and offered his skills to the Order of the Phoenix. He worked well and provided ideas and abilities that non other could replace. It was during this second war that, sadly, Remus Lupin would die among the hallowed halls and crumbling ruins of Hogwarts. He would die a hero, along with his wife, Nymphadora. They leave a son, Teddy Lupin, behind them.

A solemn toast then, for the last of the remaining Marauders, Remus Lupin.
dreamdancer7699 - July 26, 2007 04:11 AM (GMT)
Dream raised her glass of firewhiskey up into the air and said "Salute!" She then tossed the contents back into her throat before saying
"To the last of the Marauders, the strong and faithful Remus Lupin!"
Stripes - July 26, 2007 05:54 AM (GMT)
Stripes gulped a large glass of fire whiskey, felling the liquid burn her throught.
To Moony, a truer friend would be hard to find. He is now with his friends, and we can be happy to know he no longer suffers on the full moon.

Sardine - July 26, 2007 08:29 PM (GMT)
May my two favourite characters Rest in Peace...

Ankaa - July 27, 2007 09:07 PM (GMT)
Ankaa raises a large glass of firewhisky "To Severus, Fred and Remus: may you be forever at peace and find true happiness."

*stands up from comforting armchair*

"I'd like to say a few words for Dobby, a free elf.

Dobby was owned and badly treated by the Malfoy's for many years until Harry Potter tricked them into freeing him. Dobby never forgot that it was because of him he was free and Harry became something of an idol to him.

In later years, Dobby found himself a position at Hogwarts, working alongside other elves and finding him once again close to his hero.

On more than one occasion Dobby saved Harry's life and also on more than one occasion he nearly killed him. It was all done with the best of intentions, to try and protect the person who had given him his freedom.

In the end, Dobby saved Harry once more, only to die in the process. The fact that he chose to risk his life for his friends, of his own free will, is the greatest epitaph an elf could wish for."

*Raises glass* "To Dobby, a true and loyal friend."
dreamdancer7699 - July 28, 2007 02:26 AM (GMT)
Raises her glass in salute.
To Dobby, the Free Elf! May you rest in peace and be revered forever as the noblest of house-elves!
Twilight - August 1, 2007 02:10 AM (GMT)
Twilight mops her eyes, raises her glass, and says:
I'd like to add Colin Creavey. That brave, determined kid joined the fight, even though he wasn't supposed to. I'll always remember him and his camera. To Colin Creavey! He evolved from a pest into a hero!

To all of them! My heart feels so empty without them.
Ankaa - August 1, 2007 06:41 AM (GMT)
Ankaa stood up again and raised her glass
"To Colin, such a waste of a young life."
"All this sacrifice and dying for your friends is so desperately sad" Ankaa sobbed and collapsed back into her chair.

hot - August 7, 2007 04:17 PM (GMT)
Emilie raised her glass
To Colin. Who earned his keep in the end. To Dobby who just wanted to keep Harry safe. A Free Elf. To Fred. *sobs* A Funny Guy. To Severus. Not as bad as he seems. To Crabbe. A badguy wanna be. To Hedwig. The only living being that connected Harry to the Wizarding World while trapped at his uncle's. To Lupin. A Nice Werewolf. To Tonks. not Nymphadora. Mad-Eye Moody. Protected Harry till the end. Ted Tonks. We didn't know him for very long but we'll miss him anyway. Lord Voldemort. Being evil isn't easy, no matter how smart you think you are. To all the unnamed fighters who died. To all who have died through the course of these books. RIP *salutes*
She took a sip of her drink and sat back down. Letting the tears stream down her face.
