Title: Ollivander's Wand Shop
Description: ROLEPLAY, or you will be IGNORED.

Meridae - June 29, 2007 09:20 PM (GMT)
Ollivanders
Makers of Fine Wands since 382 BC

Sitting snuggled on a bustling sidewalk full of many new witches and wizards, (and many old) sits "Ollivander's Wand Shop (since 382 BC)". It's gray with wear and tear throughout the centuries, but still in tip top shape. Some might say, some new-comers, that is... might think Ollivander's looks like a home rather than a store. It's true... the door may creak slightly as you enter, and the bell may ring, but this is only to alert the store owner that she has customers. Yes... Mr. Ollivander himself has left, and Meridae, or.. Miss Meridae, if you wish, took his place.

It was a rather homey little store, she realized, spinning around ever so gracefully in a rolley chair(easier access for the wands set lower to the ground), waiting for a customer. The wands, now in her care(though sadly) were stacked much more...safely. Not tilting, not anything. Perhaps it was that organized nature within her.

Laminated in plastic, and set freshly(about the only freshly done thing in the store besides the re-organized wands)within a plastic case inside the counter, was a description of each wand and what it was good for, each core and what they usually meant:

Holly - a strong protective wood, spells Specify either light or dark holly.
The perfect wand for anyone advanced or beginner!
(NOTE: This wand contains a Phoenix feather if you want yours to be exactly like Harry's.)
Willow - strong defense against dark magic
Rosewood - don't let it's length disuade you! This wand contains powerful magic. Very good for a charmed worker
Mahogany - has many protective properties and is defense against dark spells. This wand is for anyone, especially those skilled in transfiguration.
Yew - very powerful magic! This wand only belongs in the hand of very experienced witches and wizards!
Maple - many Healers have this type of wood, for it is for witches and wizards who specialize in medicine- or could, if they wanted to.
Red Cedar - for witches and wizards adept at protection charms.
Oak - very good for unspoken spells.
Cherry - very good for Divination and love charms.
Ebony - very strong, and if the Wizard is dark, this can reap very disastrous effects. Used by Grindelwald.

Phoenix Feather-> Mysterious and intelligentally wise beyond your years, only a select few know the true you.
Dragon Whisker-> Dual-natured, you can be fierce yet sweet, and you are strongly set in your ways.
Dragon Heartstring-> Fiercely determined, your outward appearance hides a strong hearted soul.
Essence of Unicorn Horn-> Kind and shy, you have a great desire to heal others.
Unicorn Hair-> Innocent and allusive, you more like to observe others.
Griffon Feather-> Noble and wise, you are fiercly protective of your friends and family.
Hippogriff Feather-> Intelligent, shy and flighty, it takes you a great deal to put your trust in others, but when you do, it's for life.
Veela Hair-> Stubborn in your ways, there's no telling what you might be thinking.
Fairy Hair-> Childish and playful, you may enjoy a good trick now and then.
Mermaid Hair-> Generally misunderstood, you are distrustful of strangers but forever in someone's debt who does you a good deed.
Caladrius Sinew-> Wise and gentle, you don't mind being around others as you possess a personality that warms peoples' hearts, and you have a strange ability to see through others' facades.
Cerberus Hair-> Aversive, there's not much about yourself that you let on. But what most don't see at first glance upon you is a soul with the best intentions.
Roc Feather-> Hot-headed and proud, you don't think anyone should stand in between you and your goal.
Chimera Heartstring-> Quick-tempered and hard to please, you can be someone's best friend one minute, but mortal enemy the next.
Peryton Scale-> Unpredictable, cautious, and demanding. Those who do you wrong, won't ever live it down if you have your way.
Kraken Scale-> Generally, you remain out of other peoples' lives, but when you have your mind set, nothing and no one will ever get in your way.

Besides the counter was a long, wooden box, monitored for security. Within it lay one of each kind of wand, with each kind of core within it for variation. Even though these wands lay behind a glass door, it was unlocked for the public to use, but these wands were only "samples" for those witches and wizards who didn't already know what kind of wand they wanted and desired to test these sample wands, to get a better idea. Besides this box, was a clearly printed sign that stated: "If I'm not around, ring the bell and I'll do my best to fit the perfect wand for you. ***RULES*** (If I see you break any of these rules in your post to me.. I'll tell you to go back and read these rules, and I won't respond to your post until I'm sure you did read the rules)

1.) Read this thread and its three rules, in their ENTIRETY!! '06-'07 RPG Rules
2.) Me/Meridae is the shopowner here, NOT Mr. Ollivander. Don't tell me anything like Mr Ollivander gave you your wand.. your character looked in the window and saw Mr. Ollivander.. such and such. I don't want to hear it. I love the man dearly...but seriously.
3.) Do NOT include your own receipt in your posts. It's already been done and entirely against the rules. Leave that to the shopowner only. Afterall, in the muggle world you don't go about barging in behind the counter when the employee is working and overtake the machine, do you? No. So don't do it here.
4.) I'm a little more lenient on this one...but try not to wander in between the aisles looking for your wand. The aisles are set BEHIND the counter which only I have access to unless I specify you can follow me. If you don't know what kind of wand you'd like, I've included a link to a GREAT site to test you for your perfect wand in my signature.
5.) ACTUALLY post in THIS thread!!! Do NOT create a seperate one!
6.) This has already been mentioned by Rogue, but I'll mention it again. Do NOT set your wand to your profile UNTIL you've posted in my shop to purchase your wand. The same applies for your broom.

And last but not least... ROLEPLAY! If you don't know how, this a good thread to read over: How do you Roleplay?

Jack - July 6, 2007 11:40 PM (GMT)
Jack walked into the shop while his friends were buying there books for Charms. He walked up to the counter.

Bertha - July 7, 2007 10:08 AM (GMT)
The door swung back into Bertha as she stepped forward, just a pace behind the boy who had walked in. Annoyed, she offered his back a glare and then stopped to read the descriptions of each wand. What to choose, hmmm?

Perhaps...yes, Rosewood - with a dragon's heartstring core.

"Hello there?" she called nervously, glancing at the boy next to her.
"Have you seen Meridae yet? I'm Bertha, by the way. First-year Gryffindor. How do you do?" She offered her heand to the boy. "I'm going to have this wand, I hope":

Thinking deeply, after all one's wand was a vitally important choice, she said "I suppose the shopkeeper might think it doesn't suit me, I'll have to ask."

Jack - July 7, 2007 11:55 PM (GMT)
"Hi" Jack said back nervously to the girl next to her.

"I'm Jack" he said "I'm hoping to get a Holy Wond, with Hippogrif Feather'.

He stood there waiting for the storekeeper.
"So do you know who you will be sharing your dorm with yet" Jack asked.

olivia black - July 8, 2007 09:58 AM (GMT)
Olivia opened the door and poked her head through it. After blinking twice, she walked over next to Jack and Bertha "Hiya, Olivia Black, Slytherin. Now where is the shop keeper? I must order my new wand. I know you two really dont care, but its a gorgious Mahogany wand with a core of griffon feather 13 and a half inches long. Well, il just wait then" She said, taking a seat

Lira Johnston - July 8, 2007 09:55 PM (GMT)
Lira walked into the Wand Shop and gazed around at the high shelves. "This could be slightly difficult...." She turned in a circle, staring at all the different boxes of wands and things, and then turned and went over to the desk. She had in mind a rosewood wand, 9 1/2 inches long, with a mermaid hair inside. Maybe an inscription, too....

Stripes - July 10, 2007 03:43 AM (GMT)
Stripes walked into the wand shop, awed by the rows and rows of boxes. She went up to the desk, were she rang the bell. She knew just what she wanted.

Ebony
mermaid hair
15 inches
inscribed with the words - Light and Darkness clashing forever more
She wiated patiantly for the shop owner to arrive. She noticed a girl standing next to her. "Hi, I'm Stripes, what's your name?''

Meridae - July 11, 2007 06:06 AM (GMT)
(Look, while I realize you guys aren't experienced on how this goes, I will be nice. You guys have been spamming my thread, and I don't appreciate this. Yes, you're supposed to RP-but with me, Meridae-the shop owner. Not with each other, I have to go through all these pages, and it takes FOREVER for my computer. It took me 2 1/2 hours to delete your posts that were RPing to each other. I don't want to sound like there's nothing anyone can post without me getting upset, you all are very good RPers, but your very first posts here were perfectly fine, and you should have stuck with it there. Please, be wary of this in the future. Leave RPing towards each other for other RPing threads, and keep RPing with the SHOP OWNER for shop threads).

Meridae always returned to the counter after sales, except on few, rare occasions. Nodding to Bertha and Jack, she set off to find the rosewood and holly, both wands she was extremely familliar with finding. And cores she was also familliar with. She returned not too long afterwards.

But Meridae was actually surprised. She would have figured customers would be jumping at the chance for having such new cores--so far, it had been far from it. Shrugging, Meridae tackled Olivia's order next. She was also very accustomed to mahogany, that being her own wand's wood. The griffon feather, however...not so much, regardless though, it didn't take so long to find.

After having handed Olivia, Jack, and Bertha their wands, Meridae turned then and smiled at Lira, Bella, and Stripes. "May I help you all?"

Lira Johnston - July 11, 2007 06:37 PM (GMT)
Lira stepped forwards. "Yes, please.... I think I'd be best served by a simple rosewood wand with a core of mermaid's hair, 11 inches long..... Oh, and could you inscribe the words 'For you' on it, please?...." She smiled at the shop keeper, hoping her order wasn't too difficult.....

Stripes - July 11, 2007 07:20 PM (GMT)
Stripes smiled at the shop owner. " Ebony, mermaid hair, 15 inches please, with an inscription of Heart of the Tiger."

Ethan Waber - July 15, 2007 04:59 PM (GMT)
After Ethan's embarassing trip to the the robe store he hope he has better luck with his wand. Ethan has never seen a magic wand before. "How do I know which one to choose?" He thought silently to himself. Then, he saw it. A 10 and 1/2 inch, ebony wand with a core of dragon hearstring. Even before he picked it up, he knew...this was the one.

Drusha - July 23, 2007 05:06 AM (GMT)
Drusha made her way into the wand shop and gasped, dropping one of her neatly tied packages. "Whoa!" she breathed in awe a the stacks and piles of boxes on the shelves behnd the counter. After retrieving her dropped package, she approached a case near the counter, peering curiously at the variety of wands available. Piling her armload of packages onto a nearby chair, she examined each of the wands, one by one.

Two of them clearly stood out to her as the type that suited her. Actually, she felt like her own preferences hardly counted. The two wands that stuck out to her were not the ones she would have chosen for herself. Each time she tried to talk hersef into a particular wand, she would feel herself drawn back to the the two.

"But which one?" She muttered to herself, wondering if it were possible to really buy the wrong wand. The mahogany wand with a griffon's feather core and the willow wand with a griffon's feather core both seemed to be trying to win her over. "Well," she muttered again, "at least the core seems to be taken care of. But which kind of wood?"

She studied the samples in the case for what seemed quite a long time- long enough that the shadows cast on the floor by the sun shining through the windows changed noticably.

Impatient with her own indecisiveness, Drusha gethered her uniform pacages back into her arms and went to the counter to ring the bell. When the store proprietor answered the ring, she looked back over at the case.

"Can you help me, please? I just can't figure out which wand is best for me. I like the Holly wand with the veela hair, but it doesn't feel right. The mahogany and willow wands- 11 inches with Griffon's feather cores are the ones that feel the best, but I just can't decide between them. Is there a way to know for sure?"

Drusha was equally interested in charms and transfiguration, so she couldn't even really use her skill preferences to help her decide. The cost was close to the same, so price wasn't really a factor either. Maybe the shopkeeper could help he pick.

Meridae - July 23, 2007 05:58 AM (GMT)
(Some of you have been waiting forever! I'm so sorry! Thanks SO much for your patience!)

What luck! Meridae sighed to herself, nodding to Lira and Stripes both, both mermaid hair! Though, she suspected, as a second thought, very different wands at the same time.

"Right away." She smiled to the both of them. They'd waited an awfully long time, and she was more than happy to finally give them their wands.

She disappeared from behind the counter, something she had gotten quite good at. Ebony and mermaid.. rosewood and mermaid.. She repeated their orders inside her head silently again and again, to make sure she wouldn't forget. How embarrassing it'd be to have to wander back to the counter and ask them to repeat their orders!

Grabbing the ancient ladder, she climbed up until she reached the top of the shelf without having to stretch and risk toppling it over and thereby incidentally making a dominoes scene. Searching around for a bit, she finally came across the desired wands and took them down with her, and into the back room.

There, several noises were heard, drifting throughout the shop, and Meridae emerged shortly after, not looking too rattled.

Smiling, she brought the wands, freshly inscribed and tucked within their boxes, up to the counter.

Hearing Drusha's question, Meridae smiled. Simple to answer! "Easy. Just open the case and try them both out." "Um-just try not to.... blow anything up." She grinned, sheepishly. She turned to Ethan, realizing with vague recognition that ebony wands were suddenly becoming more desired. Nodding, she left for a moment to go retrieve it.

Drusha - July 24, 2007 03:01 AM (GMT)
Drusha turned back to the case of wands and licked her lips with a mixture of excitement and nervousness. She longingly picked up the Holly wand with the veela hair core and put it down again so quickly that she might as well have dropped it. The wand had jerked hard in her hand, making it clearly plain that regardless of what she might want, the wand had other ideas. This one was not for her.

Gingerly and with a bit of timidity after that last experience, she reached out and gently plucked up the mahogany want. It felt good in her hand. She smiled, slowly twirling the wand to look all around it. Satisifed that this could be the one, she set it aside and went next to the willow wand with the same griffon's feather core as the mahogany. She felt an immediate if faint sense of warmth in her hand, and the handle matched the curves of her hand as if it was made exactly for her short fingers.

"This one!" Drusha exclaimed, smiling at the shopkeeper! "This is the one!" She quickly swept the discarded mahogany wand back into the case, jostling her armload of packages as she did so.

She smiled brightly as she handed the wand over to the shopkeeper for purchase. "I don't want any inscription on it, thank you. I'd know it's mine with my eyes closed!"

Meridae smiled, she loved when customers got so enthusiastic about their wands. Somehow it made her job here all the more richer. Meridae put the willow wand to the side, only because she didn't want people buying the testing wands. Disappearing from the counter, undoubtedly to retrieve the same exact wand, with the same exact type of core, she returned only moments later. There, she thought to herself, much better.

Drusha - July 25, 2007 03:37 AM (GMT)
Drusha blushed realizing her mistake, and smiled shyly at Meridae when she presented Drusha with her very own wand. It was perfect!

"Thank you!" Drusha squealed in delight as she dashed happily from the store.

frayer - July 27, 2007 03:57 AM (GMT)
A little girl with red hair walked into the wand shop. Frayer had never seen anything like it before in her life. She was scared that as soon as she had her wand that her magic would leave and she would not be able to go to Hogwarts. She stepped up to the counter and rang the bell and waited for Madam Meridae to appear.

Hagrid had come to collect her from her muggle parents to help her with her shop for her school surplies, he had said that there wasn't anything to be scared of but Frayer couldn't help it. This was all new to her. She hoped that the shop keeper wouldn't send her away and told her that she wasn't a witch. Frayer wanted to be a part of this world and for that she needed a wand.

Christiaan - July 27, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
Christiaan walked into the shoppe, tired after a long day of strolling through Diagon Alley shopping for school supplies. He had been saving wand shopping for last, due to extreme excitement.

Christiaan started trying out wands, waiting for the right one to come to him...

At last, he found the perfect wand!

"Hmm, I don't see the shop keeper anywhere so I'll just leave some money by the register..." Christiaan concluded to himself.

Yew wand: $ 65

Griffin Feather Core: $ 15

10 and one half inches: None

Total: $ 80

Christiaan also left a note... " To the shop keeper, I picked out a wand and left the money by the register, I feel a special connection to this wand, I'm sure it is a great wand.
Sincerely,
Conor Murtagh Aodnait Arch

Meridae - July 30, 2007 12:23 AM (GMT)
(Okay, I edited my post. But people, I want to make sure you know that Meridae is always at the desk. So, Christiaan, I'm going to reply to your post a different way, since Meridae would be right there and therefore leaving a note is extremely unnecessary. A student cannot pick out their wand by themself. The area where wands can be tested, well, those wands cannot be bought, only tested.)

"No problem!" Waving to Drusha as she left, Meridae was glad the store's latest modification was working out so well. It was nice that new students didn't have to worry so much about whether or not their perfect wand would find them or not.

Meridae turned to the little girl at the desk just as pulled her hand down from waving to Drusha, and smiled. She held up her hand silently signaling the girl to give her a few moments before she got to her. She ran off quickly to the shelves and found the wand Christiaan desired. While she was waiting for Christiaan's receipt to print out, she inclined her head to Frayer. "Can I help you?"

Stallord Knight - July 31, 2007 06:00 AM (GMT)
Troy walked into the wand shop and immediately gaped of what he saw. There were hundreds, thousands of neatly piled boxes of wands in the back shelves behind the counter. Troy noticed that there were no other people in the shop besides him and the wand maker Meriae.

"How do you do?" Troy asked Meridae and he immediately started looking at the samples of wands that were in the wooden box behind the glass door. Troy slowly opened the glass cover and took out a wand from the box. He waved it and it suddenly turned into a frog." Oop, Im so sorry about that ma'am" he said to Meridae. Troy immediately put the wand back and took another one out. This time when he waved it, the wand immediately shrank to nothing. " Gosh! Im so sorry, again!" He sincerely said to Meridae.

Troy put the wand back and took another. This wand felt so perfect to him in every way. He gave the wand a little wave and the lamp on a neat little chair, suddenly floated up in the air and it did a few flips then back onto the chair. " Wow, that was amazing!" Troy muttered to himself. "Ill take it!"

Krystal walked into the store and stoped in awe as she saw the most beautiful wand. she walked over to it and picked it up. there were hundreds if not thousands of wands stacked so neatly on shelves and there was no one in the store now . just her and Meriae.

"hello. how is your day?" krystal asked meriae. wile looking at the samples of wands on the counter. she spotted a glass box with a wand in it. she looked at meriae and then opened the box. she picked the wand up and waved it and made a mess on the left wall. she looked at mariae and said " oh! im terribly sorry." then put the wand back in the box. this time she took out a wand that looked quite normal like a stick carved into a wand. she flicked it and it fell and shrank to the size of a miniture key. " im so sorry again. my bad." she said and put the wand back again with the others.

after holding almost all the wands in the box krystal thought she found the perfect wand. she looked at mariae and then pointed at the ladder on the west wall. she flicked the wand and the ladder moved closer to her. " this is amazing!" she exclamed. "i'll take this one." she said to mariae.

Olivia walked into the shop. She loved this place, I mean, it was old and had lots of dust in it, but it just felt homey to her. She walked up to the counter to Meriae.
"Hello, you might remember me. Olivia Black, Mahagony, Griffon feather, 13 1/2 inches...anyway, I came back because I wanted to get an inscription."
She took out her wand and placed it on the counter "Um, I would like it to say... Black Olive, please. Its kind of a nick name I got, you know, my name being Olivia Black...anyway, thats my order"

Naiome - August 2, 2007 02:46 PM (GMT)
Naiome entered the shop and glanced around. She watched the other customers, saying what they wanted and how much it was.....Seeing Meriae at the counter, dealing with the others, she approached the glass boxes, making every effort not to be noticed. After all, it would be horrible to make a huge mess of things.
Naiome could feel her nerves start to act up again. 'What if,' she thought, 'they just hand me a wand and tell me to go.....Or maybe they won't have one for me at all....Or maybe...'
But she trailed off as she started to notice all of the different kinds of wands. The many types of wood, all of the cores! She instantly began to calculate which wand would be best for her, very exited at this point. "It can't be too flashy" she said, muttering to herself, "It has to be cool, and just like me. It has to fit." She started thinking of all of the combinations.
"I can't spend too much, but I don't want to get something too cheap....It has to be different, but in a good way..."
Finaly, after carefull thought, she found the one that seemed best.
Naiome nervously made her way to the counter, and then asked Meriae.

Cassie was walking along Diagon Alley using the directions her father gave her. And we all know how men are with directions. One hour, three dollars and a trip to Kockturn Alley later she had found the place. "Thanks dad" she muttered brushing off her leg in the place an old wizafrd tried to snatch her. She pushed open the wooden door hearing a small bell tinkle softly. Her breath was taken away when she walked in. Thousands of wand boxes lay everywhere. "sweeet"

She walked over to a nearby box and picked it up.Opening the red box slowly a wand sat upo the stuffing inside. She drew it out gently turnig it over between her fingers. Carefully reading the inscription on the box she found that it was a Mahogany Wand, Dragon Heartstring Core, 14 in. She lifted it up and waved it. Nothing. Again. Nothing. She shrugged and put it back into the box.

10 wands later she had all given up hope. "Not a single wand I see works." She plopped down on a chair ad a short stab in the back woke her up. Reaching behind her she pulled out a small green metal box. "Might as well" she pulled out the wand inside. Cherry wood, Fairy Hair. 11 1/2 inches. She closed her eyes and gave it a small wave. A warmth spread through her fingers and the wand shone brightly "Bingo." She took the wand up to the register and asked for it

(Grah. Sorry it's been so long you guys, I didn't have the inspiration to RP for a while u.u *feels like being REALLY nice today for some reason o.O*)

Meridae stared as Troy first tried one wand, and then another, getting increasingly unsure of what to do as one wand or the other was turned into this and that. It was amusing in a way, Meridae supposed, watching. But just so long as her store wasn't destroyed. "It's alright," She smiled in answer, hiding her anxious worry to keep the store in one piece. Nodding to him, Meridae took the wand for reference and retreated to one of the back aisles to find the exact one like it, that she could give him.

"It's good," She smiled at Krystal in turn, nodding. "How's yours?" Meridae continued watching, horror-stricken, as first one part of her store was sent into a disarray, and then another wand shrank. She twitched, I suppose I'll have to clean that up later, she thought to herself. "Eep!" Meridae shrieked as the ladder moved, throwing her gaze back to Krystal. Well, on the other hand, that was a MUCH better alternative. (Umm..Krystal, you need to pick one core only, please. Meridae can't make wands with three types of cores)

"I remember you," Meridae grinned to Olivia. Alike Mr. Ollivander, she remembered about 80% of her customers that came in. Some she remembered better than others, sometimes for a particular reason, other times not. "Sure thing, I can do that." She winked, taking the wand from her and bringing it to the back room. She returned only moments later.

"Black moon, eh?" Meridae asked Naiome, hoping she hadn't been out of french class long enough to at least remember some translations well enough. But it was nice to be able to practice it once in a while, to brush up on it, even if it was only randomly, and never at all expected. "It IS black moon, isn't it?" Eh, Meridae thought to herself, biting her lip. Maybe I'm wrong. It's black...something, though. Meridae shook her head, shaking herself out of her thoughts. Focus now, focus!! "Let me go do that, I'll be right back." Engraving the type of wand into her short-term memory, Meridae picked up the wand's exact copy from one of the boxes along the aisles as she made her way to the back room.

Naiome - August 17, 2007 08:28 AM (GMT)
Naiome smiled and nodded. "Yes! Black moon. That's right! I love French words." she said, taking her new wand and the receipt. She looked around the shop one last time before adding "Thank you!" to Meridae, and then she, turned and left the shop.

smc - August 18, 2007 01:40 PM (GMT)
Arionna walked into the shop her parents had also purchased their first wands from. She was so nervous on rather she would find the perfect wand or not,but her parents had told her that the shop keeper was the very best. "Oh,hello I am Arionna and I am here to purchase my first wand." She seen that there was only the shop keeper there and thousands of wands to choose from,or as her Dad always says for them to choose you. Arionna walked up to one of the first wands she seen and held it up,and it vanished back into it's case. "Guess not,"suggested Arionna. She walked up to another one and it was a very light colored one and rather short. She went to grab it and it sprang out of reach for her. Every time she went after it,it would just move away even faster not wanting her to touch it. Then, after she moved on to a more darker colored one that was longer,it spranged back into it's box also. Arionna seemed to like the new wand before her,but she was worried about what would happen if she tried to hold it. About to just walk away, the wand arose up and landed in her hand in mid air!! " I'll take it." She took it up to the register and asked to buy it.

As Annabelle walked through Diagon Alley, constantly looking down into the list of things she had to buy, she spotted a wand store.
She needed a wand, and she couldn't see why she shouldn't buy it in this shop, so she emerged slowly.
She carefully pushed the door open, and looked around the shop as she got inside and the door slammed shut behind her.

There where tons of tall big shelves behind the counter. They where full of small rektangular boxes, and they ofcourse had to be filled with wands.
She stopped in front of the counter.
"Hello..." She smiled nervously and looked towards the description of all the wands and the cores.
She thought for a moment. She didn't have mutch money, so she had to choose something not too expensive.
She took up a small book, with the title; "Keeping track of the money," and a pencil, and wrote:

Rosewood Wand - $40
Hippogriff Feather - $15
10 inches - $0
Total - $55

She liked keeping track of her money.

"Ehr..." She said looking up from her book. "I'd like to buy a wand... Well... obviously. I'm not really sure what would suit me, but I'll have a Rosewood Wand with Hipogriff Feather Core, 10 inches. That'll be... $55, Right? Oh, and it's vault #4, Annabelle McGordon. Anything more you need to know?"
She nervously awaited an answer, and checked her list of things she needed, mostly just to hide her face.

ladeeknight - August 20, 2007 08:04 PM (GMT)
The tinkleing bell sounded soothing to Scarlett's ears after the hussle and bussle of the street outside. Not being familiar with the wizarding world she was hesitant about picking out her wand. Her Grammy had told her that the want chooses the witch. She went to the display case to display herself to the wands, so they might make their selection. she ran her hand over the case experimentally. As her fingers neared the willow wand, scarlett felt a tingeling and she saw in her mind's eye a bright green dragon and she heard it's hearbeat strongly. She picked up the willow wand and saw clearly transparent wrinting on the side. Well that seemed straight forward enough she thought.
"Hello," she called, "anyone here. I think my wand has chosen me. I need a willow wand, with a Dragon Heartstring Core, 14 inches long, with an inscription: 'Heed your own heart as well as the Dragon's.'"

ladeeknight - August 21, 2007 04:49 PM (GMT)
"Oh yeah," said Scarlett, "My name is Scarlett Carrington and my vault # is 81607. Thank you."

OOC: Sorry i am really not good at this. i hope this isnt spamming. i will try to follow directions more carefully from now on.

Scarlett's face did justice to her name. She was so flustered by her visit into the Wizarding World that she couldn't seem to get anything right. She lifted her chin and determinedly filled out the order form for her new wand so that the shopkeeper would not having trouble understanding what she wanted. After all this was likely to be one of the most important purchases of her wizarding life.

Willow-$50
Dragon Heart String - $20
14 inches - $5
Inscription - $1

getting just the wand you want... priceless lol.

"Thank you so much for your help!" She said laughing a bit. She turned her wand over in her hands and gazed at it. "What a beaut." she said slicking it a bit. "I love the ocean so it's kinda good for me to always have a reminder of it. My names Cassie by the way. Ohh, I should go. I don't want to hold you up in any way possible"

Leah_Miksa - August 23, 2007 05:35 PM (GMT)
Leah Walked into the Wand shop amazed at the thousands of wands. she was looking at the diferent wands, 10 1/2 inch Yew and unicorn hair, 8 inch Maple and hippogriff feather. the wands look so disorganized, but Olivander knows how to find it. all of the sudden Leah hears a rustle from somewhere behide the desk. so she walks up and asks "Excuse me, may I try a 7½ inch Maple with a Pheonix Feather core?" Leah works out the math on a peice of parchment:

Maple-$45

Emmy opened the door to Olivander's, eager to buy her first wand. She had her heart set on one particular wand and hoped that it would be perfect for her. She noticed Meridae behind the counter.

Celeste' - August 29, 2007 03:37 PM (GMT)
Celeste' looked down at her list.
MAGIC WAND
Celeste' had never believed there was such a thing other than the kind that came with a Halloween costume. She shook her head, flipped back her hair from her eyes, took a deep breath and entered the store.
"May I help you?", said a voice from somewhere in the shop.
"Yeeaahh," said Celeste'. Then she saw a gentle faced woman lifting herself from a chair and walking to the counter.
"Do you know what you need dear?" said the woman.
Celeste' snickered to herself as she placed her order.
"What am I even doing here?" Celeste' said under her breath to herself. Still not understanding that this world existed, but needing to find the answers she had looked for since childhood.
"Alright then, what will it be?"
Celeste' looked around the shelves and saw a box marked CHERRY.

CHERRY 8"
Caladrus Sinew

"I'll take that one please," said Celeste'

Meridae - September 1, 2007 01:47 AM (GMT)
(You know, I don't know what's so freaking hard about reading the goddamn rules. You godmoded, Celeste. I believe it's in my rules NOT to do that. You know, if anyone was wondering, this is why I barely visit the shop anymore. It's because some people can't read the damn rules >< As for everyone else, I'm sorry I haven't been here... Like I said, I never know when I come to visit the shop if someone has godmoded or not, so I just..stay away. Great, I don't even feel like RPing now I'm so pissed off.)

Meridae watched, bemused, as Arionna's choices in wands disappeared time after time. Surely it was probably frustrating for the poor girl, but it all eventually works out in the end. "That one, eh?" Meridae smiled. "Of course."

Fat Lady - September 3, 2007 08:23 PM (GMT)
As Rafi walked into the wand shop his jaw dropped in amazement. There were loads of boxes of wands reaching up to the ceiling. He stared at them in amazement while walking up to the counter.

He saw the shopkeeper, miss Maridae, helping a student before him. He looked around nervously at the other new hogwarts students while waiting for the shop keeper to come up and help him. He figured that not all of them were first years, since the girl talking to miss Maridae now was apparently already well informed on what wand she'd like to have. He really wondered what type of wand would serve him best.

Meridae turned away from Emmy, looking up next at Rafi. "Here for a wand?"
