scarletwoman - March 6, 2005 06:22 AM (GMT)
POA was and still is my favorite in the series. which is weird b/c it doesnt focus too much on voldemort. but i love it. and i loved how it turned out that sirius wasnt evil. i heart sirius! is POA anyone elses fave?

BarbieGirl - March 6, 2005 06:28 AM (GMT)
Yes, this book was my fav too! I think that fact that it didnt focus on Voldermort so much was a good thing, and I think maybe thats why people like the third book so much!

Sirius is so kewl! Of course then JK had to go kill him off..........

But yeah PoA is the best book so far! :D :wizard:

flounder21 - March 16, 2005 08:54 PM (GMT)

i've always loved POA. i absolutely love lupin. he's one of my fave characters. i was sad that he left.

Professor Rogue - March 17, 2005 09:26 PM (GMT)
Hi all! I just changed the title of this thread to POA: General Discussion. I think that more suits this. (I'm going to try and think of some more thread topics for this board! Gotta keep it moving)

But I am completly with you all! This book is my absolute favorite one so far! I love everything about this book. What's your fav part in this book? I love the part when Harry is at the 3 Brromsticks (thankeis scareletwoman!) and Hermione and Ron are behind the tree but Harry's under the table. I LOVE that scene because it was so suspenceful for me. I remember wondering, "What happened then?"

Becauase we learned what they thought happened when Harry was a baby. That was defaintly my fav scene!

SiRiUsLyAdDiCtEd - March 18, 2005 05:56 AM (GMT)
anybody wanna guess what my favourite part was? :P

am i too obsessed? maybe?

i just loved the dramatic ending!! when we finally find out sirius is a good guy and later on when he offers harry to stay with him.
another part i liked a whole lot was for a totally different reason: that one made me laugh! when harry was in hogsmeade wearing his invisibility cloak (gosh there are a lot of "i"'s in that word!) and throwing mud at malfoy and his gang.

but even tho i loved every word of this book, i just can't decide which one i like the best  . it's about time i re-read them all again, cause i'm having the toughest time trying to decide between the last three books  .

Professor Rogue - March 18, 2005 07:02 AM (GMT)
I am with ya Binks! I need to re-read the books soon too, specifically this one! Everytime I do, I seem to gain some new insights that I missed the last time I read it.

Oh the ending! I was SOOOO shocked when it was revealed that Sirius was set up in all of this! That was a twists that I didn't see coming! And it all made sense because like the guard said that Sirius was chanting in Azkaban, "He's at Hogwarts." Everyone assumed it was Harry, but no, it was Peter Petigrew.

That was an excelelnt and yes, dramatic twists that I defanitly did NOT see coming! That's what makes this book really special to me.

scarletwoman - March 18, 2005 08:52 PM (GMT)
my fave part is the whole thing where harry and hermione go back and try to save sirius. it's so cool and i love it.

mwiley - March 26, 2005 08:07 PM (GMT)
I loved POA!! But i can't say it was my fav, i don't have a fav!! But Sirus was so cool, why did he have to die!!! :( why!!! Maybe he'll come back, i hope so, he was an awsome charactor

BarbieGirl - March 26, 2005 08:24 PM (GMT)
I loved the ending to!! It all came together, and we found out he was innocent. I was so happy when Sirius offered Harry to live with him....I should've realised that would have been to good to be true! But anyways, it was nice to find out Harry had some family who cared. :D

mwiley - April 1, 2005 06:09 PM (GMT)
Yeah, its to bad that harry never got a chance to live with sirus! I wish she would have killed someone else. But in the end, it'll all work out i guesse. I loved the part where they flew on buckbeak!

I agree, It didn't have much of Voldermort, but i really liked it, well actually it didn't have voldermort in it really, just wormtail....

I likes the book better then the movie anyways...

scarletwoman - April 19, 2005 08:09 PM (GMT)
so far the book and the movie are my fave outta all of em.

Professor Rogue - April 19, 2005 09:34 PM (GMT)
Mine too. There was someting about this book that made it my favorite, I'm not sure what it is. All of them a good! Don't get me wrong, but this book had so much packed action and suspense. . .. I know I was shocked out of my mine to learn that Sirius was innocent! That was a great revelation.

Luna - April 20, 2005 02:54 AM (GMT)
Everyone's gonna hate me for saying this, but i think that was the worst book of all 5 so far... it's all talk, no action. tho i did like it more the second time i read it. dunno, i thought there wasn't ENOUGH suspense. so Sirius escapes, big woop!
as for the movie: BLECH! they butchered the story!

I know, I liked it as well...

I think it was because it had so many twists and turns, I thought one thing and BANG there was another story in all of it....

And it made you use a LOT of imagination to picture everything.... :ph43r:

angelsflame265 - May 14, 2005 07:37 PM (GMT)
This is my favorite book as well :) I just love how everything comes together in the end. And it's little things that you don't notice that make the end result come together. A nice mystery book. Maybe I should read more mystery books. . .

mwiley - June 11, 2005 11:08 PM (GMT)
I like the POA because its different from the rest, no voldemort. Lupin was awsum, he's another one of my favorite charactors. Then of course there's buckbeak, he's awsum..the time turner, and all that stuff..different

whiteflame - June 20, 2005 07:17 PM (GMT)
i didnt consider this movie/book to be the best one. i thought that the ending was kind of good, except for the fact that harry couldnt go live with Sirius, which was ab it disappointing, because i believe it would have been quite good for him to have done so.

mwiley - June 25, 2005 07:03 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it would have been awsome for him to go live with sirius. Even if they had to stay hidden, harry would have preffered living with sirius than the dursleys. Its really to bad he didn't get a chance to live with him before he died in the fifth book. :(

POA was my favorite book so far. I just liked it better than the other books. I think it's because this book was different than the other books. Harry isn't battling Voldemort-they don't have a big duel at the end of the book like they do at the end of all the other books. I also liked it because Harry got to learn more about his parents and his family and his past. He met some of his parents' best friends and also got to confront the person who was responsible for their deaths. And I also agree that there is a bit of mystery to it which also makes it an awesome book!

mwiley - July 16, 2005 04:05 AM (GMT)
Yeah, i like the fact that its different from the other books...and your right, in every other one they have this big duel at the end...quirrel & VD in the first one over the philorsipher's stone, in the chamber of secrets with LV's memory (Tom Riddle), In the graveyard with wormtail and LV, In the (department of myteries?), with all the death eaters..its kind of always the same plot..different places, different people..but same basic plot. But I still find them interesting.

Does anyone remember what the reward was for Sirius Black?

jyo226 - August 4, 2005 02:18 PM (GMT)
His bounty I mean if anyone turned him in.

whiteflame - August 10, 2005 04:04 AM (GMT)
no, i really dont remember. i dont think there was one....not sure.

good book, but not my favorite really. I like the last 3 books best. i cant choose. i like to reread those sometimes when im obscenely bored.

mwiley - August 12, 2005 03:06 AM (GMT)
wasn't in like 10, 000 gallions or something? Or maybe I'm totally losing it...

I agree that the last three books were the best, but I also can't pick a favorite.
