Samara walked down a broad, brightly lit stone corridor, with Marcus on one side of her and Emma on the other. She frowned.

"This is the right corridor, but...we need to find er....a fruit bowl." She indicated the many cheerful food paintings on the walls. "Ah!" She stopped in front of a gigantic silver fruit bowl. "Now we just tickle the pear and..." She did so, then stepped back hastily as the pear turned into a large door handle. "Er." She glanced at her friends.

'So... This is how we get into the Kitchens, eh?' Said Marcus. 'I never knew.... i walked past here before, though, and that wall over there' Marcus pointed towards the end of the hall 'actually has a door on it, you just tap that brick....' he trailed off.

'but i missed the big prize... ah well.... ladies first...'

Sam had been listening to his story with a raised eyebrow and a badly concealed smile. "Right. Quite the gentleman you are." She sighed, took hold of the green door handle, and pulled the door open.

"Emma, since I got to do all the fun bit, why don't you go in first?" she asked.

'Oh, i dunno.' Marcus started, mock seriously. 'it might be dangerous, y'know, i think i better go first and check it out.' he gave the other two a grin and entered the kitchen. he looked at the sight in front of him... house elves scurrying everywhere.... tables and tables of food. his mouth began to water just looking at it.

'......wow....'

he turned back to the others. 'hey guys...er, i mean girls, come check this out!'

BIC: Emma watched as Sam found the entrance to the kitchen..and was about to step in until Marcus decided to go first, she turned her head towards Sam's direction and just rolled her eyes trying not to laugh. After Marcus went in to check if the kitchen was "safe", Emma followed after him, stopping dead in her tracks as one of the house elves saw her and pointed at her..immediately they all stopped.."Umm, Macus what are they doing!" she asked him, daring not to move, then the little house elf came over to her, and bowed. "What would mistress like to eat?" she squeaked looking up at Emma. Emma couldnt help it, the house elf looked so cute with her huge eyes. She then looked at Marcus with a confused smile on her face.."Umm..We actaully came more out of curiosity than hunger, but I apprecaite your offer!" she said smiling down at the house elf, hoping her answer didnt break any house elf rules.

Sam grinned and ran forward after the two of them. She stopped in awe and gazed around, but first she looked straight up. The ceiling was huge! It was almost as large as the one in the Grand Hall!

"Hmm?" Samara looked down at the ground, where something was tugging at her pant leg. "Oh!" She smiled kindly at the house-elf. She'd never joined the large S.P.E.W. organization, but she'd gone to a function once with her parents ("We've got to keep our image, haven't we?" her mother had barked). It was really depressing to see how some wizards treated house-elves.

She knelt beside it. "Excuse me, if it's not much trouble, can I ask you how everything works, down here?"

The house-elf beamed. "By magics, of course, Miss! We makes all the food and we cleans all the rooms! Tis our job, Miss!" he squeaked. Sam grinned. He was very nice.

Marcus gaped at Emma... 'More out of curiosity...' he turned to a house elf, his mouth watering. 'um, what kind of deserts do you have?'

The house elf beamed. 'we have all sorts sir, yes we do, we have chocolates and cakes and...and lots sir, and if we do not have it we will work day and night till we can make it!'

Marcus frowned 'that won't be necessary... oh look, chocolate eclairs!' at once three house elves dropped what they were doing, grabbed the tray and ran over to Marcus with it. one of them squeaked 'here sir!' marcus garbled his thanks and took one. 'i love these...' the house elves bowed and squeaked 'pleased to be of service, we are glad you like them, sir.'

Samara grinned at the deserts and stood up, taking one also. "Mm! My brother did say they had the best food here. You're all brilliant cooks!" she complimented as she bit out of her eclair.

Marcus sighed. 'y'know, apart from the food, this isn't as interesting as i had hoped.... i think i'm gonna head off and check the rest of the castle out. thanks little elfy midgets, you guys make great food' Marcus turned around and walked back out of the portrait hole and back into the corridor.

Samara walked toward the door and motioned for Emma to follow, then joined Marcus in the hall. "All right, Mr. Adventure. Where to now?"
