Title: Student Professors & TA's Report Here

Professor Rogue - June 21, 2007 06:31 AM (GMT)
Student Professor Contract

By signing below, you are agreeing to the terms of being a Professor/ Teacher's Assistant at the Leaky Cauldron. Being a Professor at the Leaky Cauldron is an important job as you are the ones who are molding our students into the well rounded adult witches and wizards of the future. To be a Professor/TA, you are REQUIRED to do the following...
  • Keep your class UPDATED. It is important for you, as the Professor, to keep your class updated so that your students can learn and gain an experience in class.
  • Provide new lesson. If your lesson is long and needs to extend into a second week that is fine but do not keep it the same lesson for a month and only post in it once a week. You are required to post a total of 2 lessons total, then the final exam.
  • Post lessons no later than Monday. By posting no later than Monday, the students are able to have a FULL week (seven days) to attend and complete the lesson. Thus you should post no later than Monday and close the thread as late as possible on Sunday.
  • Be fair and unbias in grading and point awarding. If you are a Proud Gryffindor and your character hates Slytherins, you cannot be biased and deduct from Slytherins and award to Gryffindors UNLESS there is a reason. We must provide a fair and unbias environment where everyone is equal and there is NO FAVORITISM. More information about awarding points will be discussed later.
  • Allow students a whole week (seven days) to complete the homework. Similar to how you must give students a FULL week to attend class, you must also allow them a FULL week to do the homework, if you do not put it up on Monday. Sometimes students are unable to attend during certain days due to school, parents, etc. so we must allow them the time to complete it.
  • Post the homework in a place that can be seen by all students. If you do not give the homework for the lesson right away, please also repost the assignment in your first post so that it is easier to find and students won't have to search through pages and pages of posts to get to it.
  • If you will be unable to post a lesson, or finish it, contact your Teaching Assistant (TA). Contacting your TA is your job as a Professor. They were created to help you and to help the Administration from teaching more classes. If you start a lesson, but are gonna be away etc., and do not think you can finish that lesson, you must contact your TA with all the information they may need to complete it. Also please inform the class, if possible, but at least the TA so he/she will know where you are in lesson and what to do.
  • Explain how you run your class with your TA. It is your responsibility to explain to your TA how you run your class lessons and how each thing is supposed to be done. This is to ensure that you both are on the same track as one another and won't collide in the way that you both teach a lesson. If you want certain things done in this particular way, explain that to your TA and make sure they understand how you want them to run your lesson in the event that you are absent. If you do not keep in constant contact with your TA, making sure that you both are on the same page, then you will have a rough year and it will not be the TAs fault, it will be yours.
  • If a lesson is NOT posted by Monday, or early Tuesday, your TA will take over that lesson. It is not fair to the students when lessons are posted late, unless the Admins are notified ahead of time, so your teaching assistant shall provide a lesson upon you not creating one. Once the TA has started a lesson, THEY are in control of that ENTIRE lesson. You are not allowed to take it away. They are doing their job and it is your responsibility to do yours, by either making your lesson or notifying us of your leave.
  • Please remember that this is for fun. The LC is only a Hogwarts RP site and not real life. Let's be realistic. We all have real lives outside the boards and we don't want to suck the fun out of things in the roleplaying class and the homework by making it so hard that you'd think you were in real school. Flex your muscle and enjoy yourselves as well.
  • Confidentiality. What is said in the Teaching Lounge, stays in the teaching lounge. It's really important that you don't go telling members what other professors are planning for their class, etc. It is important the the Professors have a special bond with each other and can trust to ask other Professors for help, without fearing that they will go tell someone.
If you fail to follow these requirements, then you may be removed from your position as Student Professor and the class given to someone else who will uphold the said requirements.

NOTE: Of course, if anything comes up in your RL (real life) an emergency and such that hinders your position as a student professor, please see me.
