Title: Sam's Got Art Too
Description: er...sorta

I'm not the most amazing artist on the face of the planet (or on this website!) but I figured why not?....I don't do much digital art, though...so I hope that's not a problem. Here's my most recent shaded drawing, I thought it turned out rather well:

It's a portrait of my friend, I used a reference picture and got lucky...It's still not amazing, though. Not compared to most other things.

I have a fetish with Batman....he's the best....period. My scanner made it kind of fuzzy.
I also went through a FullMetal Alchemist phase. This is the only one worth showing.

That's it for now... ^_^

Their Awesome Sama, I like the last one the best. Keep up the good work.

Ack Sama, Full Metal Alchemist fiend (for a while at least)? Fellow anime fan on the site? Oh, I welcome you with open arms, that I do!
Ehem. We're here for the drawings though, aren't we?
First off, I love a good pencil drawing, so feel free to post away as you desire on such images. If you decide you have a pencil drawing you'd like computer colored sometime, feel free to ask one of us, we'll play on it if you'd like.
The portrait is very detailed, nicely done. The right eye looks a bit wonky when compared to the left eye, but, hey, its a darn good go at it. Batman. I hear you on the comic book thing. Batman is and always will be my favorite of that group. Nice job on this, Batman always did have those wonderful, harsh lines. You expressed that well. And the full Metal Alchemist one, perspective shots can be a pain even when your referencing a picture, but you did pretty well on it!
Hehe, I went through a nasty Dragon Ball Z phase myself... Lots of images came of that... Never mind that though, I'd love to see more of your work as you post it!

Haha, thanks, both of you....well, like I said, the portrait isn't amazing, I'm not the best artist around. I believe for all the pictures I was using a reference. I'm really pathetic at proportions on my own.
I used to be in love with Dragonball Z....but the fighting just took about fifty episodes to end and after a while I got so bored with watching episode after episode of people looking like they're on the verge of being beaten, then come up with a great new trick (Spirit Bomb!), and then the next episode they try it as their last hope--and it fails--and it starts all over again.
I was in love with Piccolo though. ^^;

More of my FMA:

A present for my good friend in rl. She asked for a "serious and pretty Ed".
This next one--I screwed up Roy's face >_> Shh. Don't tell anyone. Just pretend it looks right. I just liked it because of the details.

And this one was my Valentine's Day card this year:

This is Kyo from Fruits Basket (I'm a bit of an anime/manga fan). This one's pretty old, actually... last summer, I think.

Finally, my other HP character, Kara Shevlin:

yay! I love pencil drawings, and i espicially like your FMA pic *the latest one you posted* you do an amazing job at getting crisp lines with pencil, how does one do that, I MUST KNOW THE SECRET! *breaks down and cries in the fetal position*
sama - June 24, 2007 09:11 PM (GMT)
Hehe. Mechanical pencil, all the way. *shrug* I'm always one for specific lines....I suck at being vague. But yes, I have plenty of troubles with proportion and anatomy and the like....*sigh* But I'm working on it!
....Oh drat......the card isn't showing up, is it?... *goes back and edits* All right...it should show up now.

I gawk at your ability to draw with pencil  I'm unable to do so. :(

I especially like this . . . dunno why. It's nice and simple I guess and it gets straight to the point.

Wow Sam!!!! You are really good... i can't draw if my life depended on it.... I really like the V-Day one and another one I don't remember which one though.

Aww, thanks Regina! But if you're saying that you obviously haven't toured the rest of the LC's artist threads, because I am really not that great compared to them.
Rupert! He's just a random face I was practicing with, and I turned him into a butler, and now well.....he lives in my head and is waiting for a background story. Tadaa....I'm working on my faces. Crit me, please, only be nice about it!

Ok . . . his eyes seem to buldge out, though that isn't necisarily a bad thing (and you seem to be sporting the anime/managish style so they usually creepy eyes in my opinion) as I've met people with bulgy eyes. They look kinda creepy but. The neck also looks a little thick but apart from that it looks alright
