Title: Harry Potter Theme Park 2009
Mark_EmmaWatsonFan - May 31, 2007 08:09 PM (GMT)
According to the news over here in England, an official theme park, called 'The wizarding world of Harry Potter' wil open in Florida in 2009. J.K.Rowling has said "The plans ive seen are very exciting."
According to reports "people will have the chance to experience the world of Harry Potter in person." It is believed that there will be attractings based on Hogwarts, Hogsmeade and the forbidden Forest.
What do you guys think? will it live up to expectations?

Yup, there was just a clip on this on the news as I was playing about here on the LC tonight. On 'Countdown with Keith Olberman' is where I saw it. They were saying much the same things, and showing sketches of the plans for the theme park.
Seems they want to have everything from themed restaurants to stores along “Diagon Alley.” And yes, to have places to wander including in Hogwarts. Reggie also has a note on this on the LeakyCauldron.net ^_^
As for me, I'd go to it. Yeah, I'm nothing but a soppy fan girl at heart. But could you imagine what expensive fan goodies you could find at a place like that? Yeesh, and I think I have a buddy who lives in Florida who would be willing to go there and visit with me
Anyway, I dunno that I know what expectations of it would be. It seems like one of those “mini” worlds with in Disney. If you look at it like that, I don't see how it could fail. Unless, you know, they reenact any devestating scenes from any of the books in front of millions of happy faced children (and audlts) who would prefer to forget that certain characters have died.... :<<

Well if they make it like Magic Kingdom or any of the other Disney worlds in Orlando/Tampa then I'd say it would be pretty good :) I've been to all of them and I'm going to Epcot next weekend yey!! lol this is when ur glad that u live 4 hours away from theme parks ^_^

Sounds really amazing. Though, I probably wont be able to go since I live in America and do little traveling. Oh well, at least it's there for me to look forward to if I ever get the chance.

OMG.. I know a site that has a picture/sketch of what the park should look like and info about it. I posted the link to it below:

I'm obviously a HP fan because I'm here, but i won't plan a trip around visiting the theme park. I visit FL a couple times a year just for a little mini vacation, so it's likely i will pop in because I'm already gonna be there!

I'm worried that it won't live up to my expectations, but I have family living in Florida, so I'm sure I'll be going. I hope I'll be pleasantly surprised!

I'm sure that's always a big worry twilight about things not living up to expectations!! Hopefully since J.K. had to give her blessing for them to do it expectations will be met!!!

I would totally go see this thing.. but I live in California, and I don't even know anybody that lives in Florida. So I dunno if I will ever go to see it or anything, cause a trip to Florida just to see a Harry Potter thing, is just kinda... expensive. Sucks.

I'd go anyways if I lived that far away from florida. I'm been to florida multipy times. Florida is a lot of fun and a good vaction spot. I think the Harry Potter Amusment park will be the best amusement park ever. I think it would be even more awesome if the actors from the Harry Potter movies were there. That would be the best day of my life.

Like Pyrii, I live in California. Also I am a colllege student, who has moved out of his house. I don't see myself having the MONEY to go to this place for several years, if even then.
