Here is where you can put your potions recipes. Please be sure you put the name of the potion larger than the rest of the page.

Example: Potion Type: To Breath under water

Then give details of how to do it.

Use 1 ounce of Gillyweed per 15 minutes of under water activite.

Gillyweed is used to make it where a air breather can go under water for long periods of time, and must be eaten while in the water up to your knees. Failure to do so could cause you do sufficate.

Please 1 potions per post please, lets give others a chance to get in on the fun.

Potion:
Draught of Living Death

Description:
Causes a very deep sleep so that the drinker may not be able to wake up.

Ingredients:
asphodel
wormwood
sopophorous bean juice
valerian root

When crushing your sopophorous bean use the flat side of your potions dagger, do not cut. You must stir your potion clockwise after every seventh counter-clockwise stir. A blue steam should come from your potion while brewing, the halfway mark would be when your potion turns a deep purple, then it should change to a light lilac color. You will know when your potion is ready when it is clear as water.

Dragonpox itch and boil releif.

To dry up boils from dragonpox and to releif the itch use.

3 parts calamus to 1 part starch from a red potato.

apply to all areas infected with boils. This will dry them up quicker.

If boils are or become infected use boiled water instead of the potato starch.

This will work on muggle chickenpox too.

VAEVINO SYRUP
The syrup is the only known effective cure for alcohol poisoning (aka hangover). While it can be taken whole, it is often diluted in tea due to its extreme sweetness.

Dose: 1 teaspoon by mouth, taken whole or diluted in one cup of hot tea

Ingredients: Dittany, Ge Gen, Peppermint, Essence of Rue

Other items needed: any standard (as in not self-stirring) cauldron, 1 peahean (female peacock); mortar and pestle; cedarwood (enough to maintain a small flame for about two hours).

Special instructions: Must be brewed under a new moon.

1. Place any standard cauldron at 1 meter above a cedarwood flame.
2. Combine 1 three-finger pinch Dittany and 1 dash Ge Gen, and heat until the peahen coos three times.
3. Remove mixture--which should look and feel like extremely fine grains of blue sand--from cauldron and extingush flame.
4. Grind mixture and peppermint together with a mortar and pestle in a clockwise motion until it becomes a thick, gray paste.
5. Return to cauldron (by now cool).
6. Stir clockwise 3 times, counter-clockwise 3 times, add one drop Essence of Rue.
7. Repeat step 6 twice, so that you have a total of 9 clockwise and counter-clockwise stirs and 3 drops Essence of Rue. Potion should be a shimery blue and smell of un-ripe limes.
8. Store in a glass or crystal phial, wrapped in a swath of eel skin, through the entire waxing phase of the moon. When the moon is full, the potion is ready. It should have a translucent gold color, a very thick consistency, and overwhelmingly sweet smell and taste.
