Mwiley the NightShadow

Mwiley had a huge charms essay to finish and had to look up some facts for potions but she didn't want to do it. School was so boring.

Just as she put down one of the books and pursued another she spotted the librarian. Moody and grumpy looking as usual Madame Prince was definatly on about something. "Hi Madame Prince!" she said cheerily as she walked by and the librarian ignored her completly, muttering to herself as she went. "hmph!" mwiley snorted, she had used all that false enthusiam and didn't even get a good afternoon? Oh she would pay for that.

While Mwiley was plotting ways to get back at the librarian somebody walked up to her and mwiley looked up to see...

Belle walked up to mwiley and looked at her. " Hey mwiley you ok??" She asked commenting on the angry look on mwiley's face.

Dan was walking through study hall trying to get somewhere else when he saw two people. "Hey!" He yelled out wanting them to turn around so he could see who they were. Some first years who were sitting at a closer table glared at him and told him to shut up "Oh shove a sock in it!" He said in reply to their shushing and shut ups. Dan walked a little closer and saw who was there, Mwiley, and Belle.

Jenna was sitting at a table reading a book on famous 'mudblood' witches and wizards when Dan started yelling at everyone. Jen turned around in her seat and looked at him hoping he would shut up and let her read. It didn't look like it was going to happen, so she got up and walked over to him, "Do you wanna... Oh I don't know... LET ME READ!" Jenna's voice rose a bit but not half as loud as he had been she waited for a responce and when she got a nodd she went back to her seat with her book and tried to find her page. Jenna read up on the first 'mudblood' witch who went to Hogwarts and was very successful in her job.

Dan raised his eyebrows, a bit dazed at the first year. He was kinda wondering why she was like that so he sat down beside her and said. "Sorry for yelling." Dan smiled, "I'm Dan. Dan Fernando." He raised his eyebrows again.

Jenna didn't look up from her book. "I bet you are." She said sarcastically. When he didn't leave immediately she looked at him. "What?" She said in a bit of a rude tone. She wasn't in the mood to talk to anybody at all. When he didn't reply she slammed her book shut. "What do you want?" She said again not losing her tone. "Am I going to have to stare you down?" She asked, "Because I'm fair at stareing contests." And she was serious.

Dan smiled. "Do you have a name?" He asked a little bit sarcastically. Dan raised his eyebrows and looked closer. "I'm pretty good at them too"

Jenna opened her book again. "No..." She said. "Sorry but I don't give my name out to flirts with no style." She raised her eyebrows without looking up from her book. "Especially not to strangers." Jenna turned the page and saw something about a man who had killed a Death Eater, she hand't read about Death Eaters yet and didn't know what they were so she said aloud to herself, "What are Death Eaters?"

Jen was sitting across the table from Jenna and said. "Voldemort's followers..." She smiled. "You'll get to them on the next book!" Jen held up one of Jenna's other books. Jen looked over at Dan who was still sitting there. "She wants you to go now! Buby!" Jen got out her wand and made a book fly at his face.

Jenna almost laughed her heart out but covered her mouth to stop herself. "Buby!" She laughed as she saw him fall onto the ground. Then she noticed that the very large book gave him a cut and almost felt sorry for him, but not enough to help him up. Or take the book that was pinning him to the ground off of him. Jenna stood up and took Jen's hand an stepped over him and left the room, kicking dust in his face as she left.

Ouch, Laurie thought as she watched the scene from her table. With the chaos of what just happened over, she decided to get back to work. As much as she loved Defense Against the Dark Arts, she really didn't feel like writing about boggarts right now. So instead, she packed up her books and walked around in search of something better to do. She was about to go over and talk to mwiley and Belle, who were conversing not far away, when she tripped over something on the floor.

Scarlett was in the library as usual in her spare time catching up on not being raised in the wizarding world. She was tired and needed a break, so she thought she'd investigate the noise on the other side of the library. She saw a young Gryffindor that she had never met doing the same thing. As Laurie tripped Scarlett put her hand out to stop Laurie from falling. "Hi, my names Scarlett. You must be new or I'd have seen you in the common room," Scarlett drawled in her thick Southern accent.

OoC: This is kind of an old thread so the other people in it will probably not respond to us. I just didn't want you to think that no one wanted to RP with you.

"Yeah, I'm as new as it gets," Laurie joked nervously. Her knee was stinging from when she fell. "My name's Laurie. And thanks for helping me." She pulled back her robes and stared at her scraped knee. It was bleeding slightly. Laurie ran her fingers over it gently, wincing.

Scarlett smiled at Laurie. "For a new Gryffy, anything. Have you signed up for any classes yet or been up to the Tower?"

Scarlett looked at Laurie's scraped knee. "I know a minor healing spell, but I am not an aspiring healer. I can take you to nurses office if you would prefer. Alfie is a really wonderful person and she'd take good care of you.

"I've signed up for Defense Against the Dark Arts, and I've looked around the Tower a bit. I can't really decide where to get started, it's a bit overwhelming to be honest," Laurie said. "I think my knee will be alright, I've had worse than this before. I don't want to bother you."

Emma walked into the studying area, several books in her arms and quills on top of them, she sat down at a table with Scarlett and Laurie, a girl she had only seen through the halls. "Oh I know a spell that can fix that!" she said, and pointed her wand at it "Episkey!" she said and watched as it healed back together. "My name is Emma, Emma Potter!" she said with a comforting smile.

"Oh, wow, thank you so much," Laurie said, beaming at the newcomer, Emma Potter. "I'm Laurie; Laurie Cohen. Gryffindor. I've only just started Hogwarts. There sure is a lot to do, isn't there?" Laurie asked, trying to start a conversation.

Emma began to read and take notes for her history class when she heard Laurie talking to her. Looking up, she closed the book and shoved it away. "Yea there is a lot. I am the Ravenclaw Prefect, so I'm pretty busy. And both Scarlett and I own shops in Hogsmeade so we are pretty busy people." she said, as she put her brown mousy hair into a cute messy bun above her head, and saw her reflection in the window. "You know I think I am going to have black hair today." she said to herself, and focused her mind on how she would look with black hair.

Looking back up at her reflection, she smiled to herself, seeing that she had black hair. "Perfect" she said, and looked back at Laurie. "Ahh...you are a gryffindor, you have some great people to hang out with." she said with a smile and then teasingly added.."But of course it is nothing compared to Ravenclaw!"

"Wow..." Laurie said, wondering what it would be like to have all that to do. She watched Emma checking her reflection, and then suddenly noticed that Emma's hair had changed to black. "Woah! You just--what the--are you--?" She had never seen anything like it before, but changing one's appearance seemed a familiar concept. Laurie was sure she'd read about it somewhere. "Are you a Metamorphmagus?!?!" she asked eagerly, remembering the term.

"Yep..the one and only in the school!" she said, changing her nose to long and skinny for a few seconds and then back to normal. "And do you want to see something really cool?" she asked, and looked at Scarlett, focusing on her appearance. Several seconds later, her appearence had changed to identically match Scarlett's. "Hi, My name is Scarlett and my idol is Emma Potter!" she said jokingly, and then changed back to her regular appearance.

Laurie laughed so hard at Emma's mocking form that several people nearby turned to stare at what was happening. "That's awesome!" Laurie said quietly a few seconds later. "I wish I could do something cool like that! I need to study a lot longer first though. Is it fun to be able to change your appearance like that?"

"Umm..well its not something you study and learn about. You are either born a metamorphagus or you arent born a metamorphagus. There are some spells though that can change your hair and stuff!" she said bluntly, as she looked around the study area, and then back at Laurie. "So what are you studying!"

"Well, yeah, but you can study to be an Animagus," Laurie pointed out. "Right now, I'm studying Defense Against the Dark Arts until I get an idea of what to go for. I suppose turning into an animal would be cool..." Laurie added absentmindedly as she withdrew her sketchbook from her school bag.

"So how was it being the prettiest girl in school for a moment Emma?" Scarlett asked after Emma mimicked her.

Scarlett turned back to Laurie. "You should explore the Tower. Get a dorm room and all that. If you hang out in the common room you are bound to meet some interesting people."

"Yeah, it's seems fun. Gryfindors are pretty amazing," Laurie said with a small laugh, looking up from her sketchbook when she heard Scarlett talking. She was almost done with a picture from an animated muggle movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas. All she needed to do was Sally's face. Well, it beat doing homework. Plus, she promised her friend she would draw it for her a few weeks ago, and she had only just started earlier today.

"We are indeed," said Scarlett just as a dark shadow moved over the window. "Not more rain," mopped Scarlett who was sick of the Englished weather and longed for Georgia sunshine like nothing else. She moved toward the window to look upon the hated rain clouds, but her mought fell open. "Girls come quick!"

OoC: All right girls what do you think is outside. It's up to you, let's see where this goes.

OoC: Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!...oh gosh, that means me.

Laurie heard Scarlett calling to them from the window and wondered what was going on. She looked out of the window adn her mouth dropped open. Everything looked perfectly normal. Except, that is, for the Whomping Willow. It was hard to see, as many people were now crowding around the tree, just out of its way. What Laurie could see wasn't good. The tree was thrashing about more than usual, and there appeared to be someone clinging to one of the branches.

Ooc: Are we allowed to do that? Make up another chartacter who isn't anybody? Oh, and did that sentence make sense?

OoC: Looks good Laurie. You can get away with god modding random nameless Hogwarts students. Just don't do it to anyone's character.

"Oh my goodness! What is going on down there? We should go see. Come on I know a couple of short cuts." Scarlett took off out of the Library running down the stairs. She hoped Laurie and Emma were following her because she thought she might need their help.

Ooc: Okay, gotcha

BiC: Laurie heard Scarlett saying that they should go down there, but was only half listening. She was still watching the scene below with horror. Only when someone darted past her did she realize that Scarlett had just left. She turned and ran after her, just catching up to her outside the library.

Emma grinned at Scarlett's comment.."What do you mean? I am that girl 24/7!" she said with a giggle, rolling her eyes, showing Scarlett that she was joking. She quickly stood up and rushed over to the window when Scarlett saw something. "Oh god..what did the stupid kids do now!" she murmered under her breath, following Scarlett to a secret passage.

As she ran Scarlett shook out a peice of parchment and murmured the words, "I solemly swear I am up to no good." Lines raced around the page to for an intricately folded map of the school. Scarlett had recently aquired this treasure and she hadn't studied that much yet. She found the Library and she found a passage near it that led outside. She beconed the other two girls to a tapestry and pulled it aside, smiling at Laurie. "See I told you that just when you think you have this place figured out a new door opens."

"Yeah, you weren't kidding. I didn't know there was a passage there!" Laurie said, awestruck, as she ran inside it. "And what is that thing you have? It's amazing!"

"Mischeif managed," said Scarlett tapping the map with her wand. "It's a wonderful secret map that is passed down from one Gryffindor to the next. Maybe some day I will let you have a peak at it but for now we gotta go see what is going on at the whoomping willow." Scarlett looked back to make sure Emma had seen where the secret was and she followed Laurie down it.

Emma nodded to Scarlett that she had seen it, and followed the girls down to the whomping willow, closing the entrance behind her. "How long does it take to get down there?" she asked, realizing that it felt like they were going down hill in a wet, dark tunnel. "Lumos" she said as her wand lit up the tunnel around them, which revealed something that looked like it had been hollowed out of the ground, with no supports. "This is comfy!" she said jokingly.

Scarlett moved in front of Laurie so that she could lead the way down the passage. "Lumos," she said lighting her wand. "I don't know Emma. I have never actually taken this short cut. It leads to the great hall right in front of the doors that lead outside so it must go down eventua- aaaaaaaaah!"
Scarlett had been so busy talking that she missed the beginning of a spiral slide that sent her tumbling head over heels into a heap two floors down. She was unhurt, but for her dignaty.

Laurie listened to Scarlett and Emma absently, hurrying to keep up. Suddenly she heard a scream and looked around to see Scarlett fall down the stairs.

"Oh my gosh, are you alright?!" Laurie called, running towards her. She didn't appear to be hurt, but Laurie doubted falling down the stairs was fun. "Yeah, you have to watch out for that. You see, you have to step onto the stair," Laurie joked, smiling and holding out a hand to help Scarlett off the floor, just as Scarlett had done for Laurie in the library not even half an hour ago.

Scarlett accepted Laurie’s hand up with as much good grace as she was able to muster. “Yeah I know how to work stairs, but when I started down it was more like a slide than a stair case. This place is like that though. You think you know what you’re doing and then all the sudden you looking up at the ceiling wondering what happened. Let’s wait here for Emma to catch up in case she needs help getting down here too.”

"Ha, okay. So..." Laurie said as they waited for Emma to catch up, "what do you think's happening at the Whomping Willow? D'you think it was a bet, or an accident?"

Honestly Scarlett thought that some unsuspecting firsty had wandered too close to the Womping Willow, but she said aloud, "It really could be anything. We should really be getting out there. I wish Emma would hurry."

"Where is she anyway? I don't see her. Could she have gotten lost?" Laurie inquired, looking over her shoulder. After all, hadn't everybody she'd met been telling her how easy it was to get lost in Hogwarts?
