Greenhouse three. It stood clustered among the other greenhouses, each numbered according to the year of the students who should be attending it. But there was something special in greenhouse three, something that Dai very much needed for the acne drought bubbling away in her dorm room.

Bubo Tubers.

Standing at the thresh-hold of the greenhouse, Dai Button took a deep breath, before braving the wrath of the interesting plants that inhabited the greenhouse, and seeking out that ever-so-precious Bubo Tuber Puss.

Alfie entered greenhouse 3 in hopes to find a small Bubo Tubersshe wanted to see if it had any other uses besides making boils on your hades if you touched them with out dragonhide gloves and to cure acne.

As she walked in she found that another student was there.

Hi. Can we get into trouble if we take a plant to study it?

She was afraid she might get into trouble and thought by saying this she would find out, then later when the greenhouse was empty she could come back and get it.

Alfie hated breaking rules but she didn't think she had enough money to buy the plant and she was very much wanting to study it and the only way was to have one.

Dai jumped a little to find herself suddenly in the company of another witch in the green house. Having a tiny moment of fear that perhaps Professor Sprout had come calling, the witch turned quickly to face the other. Only to find... “Alfie?”

Catching herself quickly, noting there was no immediate threat, Dai sighed and then caught up to the question at hand. “Erm, I don't think we're supposed to take a whole plant at all. Really, I'm pretty sure we're not supposed to be here with out a class assignment at hand. But, I'll risk it.”

Alfie smiled, well I'll just take a couple of seeds and use the herbivaus charm to make them grow. Hope if it is not allowed I don't get caught. By the way why are you here? if you don't mind me asking.

Alfie was hoping that Dai was up to something so if they got caught she would not be alone.

Alfie Thought to herself, boy am I dumb I don't know if she will tell on me.

Dai is there anything I can help you with? Alfie asked not noticing that Dai hadn't answered her first question, for she was worried, but this was important to her to work with the Bubo Tubers and she wanted to do it as fast as she could.

The witch smiled a slow smile at Alfie's obvious nerves about the situation. Dai winked congenially at the other girl before pointing somewhat dramatically to the side of her nose. “I'm here because, as you see, I seem to be growing into my adolescent skin.”

And there was, beside her finger, a notably red and raised bump, sure sign of acne. “Anyway, it irks me to think that I should rely on the school nurse, and humiliate myself running down there, to get an acne creme. I can make it myself after all! The only thing is, is getting Bubo Tuber puss--- which it seems your here for as well. Eventually, anyhow, if you want the plants. We can double team the plants this way, at least!”

oh my you must feel awful, but it doesn't look to bad yet. Have you ever made the creme before?

Alfie went over to one of the plants, took out her dragonhide gloves and a half pint size jar. She begain to squeeze out some Bubo Tuber puss.

She looked to see how much she had in the jar.

Then looked at Dai.

She was waiting to find out if Dai had made the creme before, but was also thinking of asking if Dai want a 1/4 of a pint or 1/2 pint of Bubo Tuber puss.
She didn't like squeezing the tubulars but would if she wanted more.

As alfie thought this she looked over one very big Bubo Tuber puss plant then said "Herbivicus".

She hoped that the plant would put on seeds so she could get 3 or 4 to start her own plant, she know that it took more then 1 seed for germination of the seeds.

Dai nodded , noting that Alfie seemed content to do her dirty work for her. “Sure I've made the creme before. My Da taught me before I went to school, said that's be one skill I'd have use for. I suppose I can't complain, it was one of those rare occasions I actually got to spend time with the busy old man. Anyway, you up for pumping that plant for a full half pint of puss? I could work up a smudge of acne creme for you to put in storage in case of need as well.”

Alfie pulled 2 jars out of her back pack, then handed 1 to Dai.

If we both squeeze the puss into a jar we will get done faster.

Alfie only has pint jars.

Dai laughed for a moment, before smothering it, as she still didn't want to get caught. “Oh, I s'ppose I can go ahead and squeeze my own puss then, if you insist. Anyway, these plats are bleedin' ripe at the moment aren't they? Good coloring, good milking. What do you suppose the good Prof. Feeds these things anyway?”

Probable sneaky students that steal from her garden, Alfie said, and then laughed but very quietly.

Alfie went over to one of the plants and started to sqeeze out the puss, she made sure she had on her dragons hide gloves before she started.

Alfie hoped to get this over with as quickly as possible she didn't want to get caught.

Dai sniggered quietly even as she pulled on her own gloves and poked cautiously at another Bubou Tuber with her wand. “Sneaky students, eh? Nah, I think they go to the Mandrakes for good fertilizer.”

The Tuber reluctantly gave up its puss with a well placed prod of the wand and Dai caught it in her jar before moving along to another tuber. Three of them would fill the jar quite nicely at this rate. Dai prodded at the second tuber until the aggravated plant splooshed its puss into her jar as well. “This is going smoother than I hoped...” Dai muttered with an air of suspicion.

Alfie had gotten her jar filled and was watching to make sure no one way getting near where they were.

How much longer do you need? Alfie asked Dai.

Alfie was thinking of all the things she could do with what she had in the jar.

Her Dad had lots of things written that he did with it.

Alfie hoped he would let her have a copy. Why shouldn't he let her, he never denighted her before.

Dai nodded to Alfie as she moved to poke the last tuber. “I'm about done mate, I swear it.”

She prodded the plant, but her eyes had slid from that point and the puss spewed messily all over the floor and her gloved hand. “Alfie?” Dai questioned with a sense of dread in her tone, “Is that Mrs. Norris standing in the doorway?”

Alfie turned with a start and saw that yes it was Mrs. Norris.

Grabbing her pack and looking though it as quickly as she could found a couple of small fish she had put in there just before coming here. She was afraid that Mrs. Norris might turn up and wanted to be preparted if she did.

"Mrs. Norris would you like some nice fish?" Alfie hoped that the cat would come and get the fish and that way she and Dai could excape.

"Dai walk slowly to the back door and get out of here, I'll follow as soo as I can."

Talking as sweetly and calmly as Alfie could she got Mrs. Norris to smell the fish. "Yes we are friends right, you always know I have a treat for you, don't you.?"

Alfie had been making friends with Mrs,. Norris for weeks no and she hoped that the cat had liked her enough to not notice that there was anything going on.
