Alright, we need some drama in here, so i decided to start a debate

The debate topic is:
The Legal Drinking Age

Sides:
Should it be lowered?
Should it stay the same?

Also, please try to see this topic from both sides like i did below, by saying on the other hand, or words to those effect

For those in other countries.. let us know what your legal drinking ages are and if you think they should change.

For those of us in America.. the legal drinking age is 21.
I personally think it should be lowered because people below the age of 18 normally drink because they are being "rebellious" towards their parents, causing them grief and who knows what else. Its what one must do to learn from their mistakes. If drinking alcohol weren't illegal, who knows how many people wouldn't do it.

On the other side, it could lead those who don't drink now, to do it because perhaps they weren't doing it because it was illegal. But who knows.

I'm not sure if Canada's drinking age is 18 or 21...

But I think it should stay the same. Sure teens are drinking underage, but their parents should catch them doing that...then give them long lectures. If the law gets lowered, people would think the Government is just weak.

Teens would be teens, and we could only live it once. Sneaking and drinking is just part of what most teen go through, besides they should be smart enough to choose whether they should underage drink or not.

Legal drinking age for Australia is 18 but there is hardly anyone who abides by that law and it isn't all that bigger deal. At least for anyone I know anyway . . . so this honestly doesn't bother me either way. The only thing people here get ratted off about is when you drink AND drive . . . so in that case I believe it she be raised to 21 here as most of the crashes on roads these days are P platers (18yr olds in others) who are imature ning bats who drink then go off an speed down the road like hooligans.
