Mikayla walked up to the owlery carefully. She wasn't sure on how to do this. In her hand she held a letter written on a light blue piece of parchment with a deep blue ink quill. The letter had been carefully folded into the pink envelope without a single wrinkle. She had spent hours writing the letter last night. The envelope was pretty heavy, for it contained everything she had done for the past day. Smiling she held the envolope close to her. She would not lose the letter no matter what. Suddenly she stopped as she realized she was at the door of the owlery. Sighing she put herhand on the door though didn't turn it. She had enevr used an owl to send messages cause she had never had anyone to write to. Her brother couldn't recieve letters when he was working, other than him thre really wasn't anyone else. It was not like she would write to her parents, they wouldn't even bother to open the stupid letter.
Finally she pushed the door open. She stopped and stared at the millions of owls perched in the rafters that where fluttering around in there. Walking in she saw some of them eyeing her. Maybe she should have asked her brother for her own owl instead. "Er . . . would anyone care to take my letter?" she asked the owlery hoping for a response. Though she doubted she would get one. Feeling frutrated she said it louder, "May I take an owl," suddenly the birds flew down the rafter towards her, "Ahhh!" she screamed ducking the swarm of birds. Appearantly something had startled them for they where flying around crazily. "Ger, off!" she screamed ducking down as the started scratching at her. She could feel the scratches starting to sting but she had no idea how to stop them. Ducking down she covered her face as they continued to claw at her and each other.
Phoenix walked up to the owlery with a letter to Della. She missed her dearly. Phoenix hasn't sent a letter to her in ages. As Phoenix reached the top of the steps and seen a young girl with a letter and struggling with the owls. "Do you need some help?" Phoenix took out her wand and all the owls took their places. "You can send a school owl if you don't have one. That's what I use." Phoenix tied her letter around the leg of the large owl that was sitting by the window. Then she threw a treat out the window. The owl took off. "See its easy as pie!"
Mikayla looked up a bit cautiosly as the owls quite attacking her. Whimpering slightly she stood up as she felt the bruises and cuts starting to sting. hough through the pain she smiled at the girl that had helped her. "Thank you," she said politly, rubbing her arms as they stung harder. "Oh well, didn't know we had school owls, Thank you, by the way my names Mikayla," she replied looking around at the owls. Suddenly she paused, "Where's my letter?" she asked desperatly starting to look for it. She had to send the letter to her brother, What would he think if he didn't get anything? She had spent hours on it . . . Something caught her eyes as she searched. Turning around she spotted an odd looking creature holding her pink envelope. "Give that here please," she said holding her hand out. The creature seemed to want to play for it moved back slightly. "Oh please give it here," she begged trying not to scare it off. This was not her day appearantly. Pulling her wand out he thought quickly, "Accio letter," the letter floated over to her. Smiling she looked at the creature, "Another time," with that she walked over to the owls, "Er . . .which one may I use?" she asked the girl.
"Are you alright?" Phoenix was concerned about the new student. Usually the owls don't attack but you never know. Phoenix helped up the student and said, "It's a pleasure to meet you Mikayla. I am Phoenix." Then Mikayla was looking for her letter. Then a little creature took it and was playing with it. Once it was back into her hands, Phoenix walked over and asked politely, "Let me see your letter. Its a beautiful pink." Phoenix wanted to help her. She wanted to show her how to piut the letter on an owl.
