Description: Harry Potter book 6
REMY-SALINAS - January 17, 2007 07:31 AM (GMT)
Warner Bros has announced the release date of the movie version of book six of the harry potter series (Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince) as November 21,2008.
Shonk Da 'Onk - January 17, 2007 07:34 AM (GMT)
Yup about a year and a half after OotP. Makes sense to me. :D I definitely can't wait for this one. HBP is probably my favourite book of the lot.
Professor Rogue - January 17, 2007 07:59 AM (GMT)
Really Shonks? Why's that? Just curious, I had to read it twice cuz I found some bits confusing. As you all know, I'm that much of an HP Sleuth like the rest of ya.
Yep thanks Remy, I'll post this on the LC official webiste!
But wow, this is good news! Has the movies ever came out back to back like this? I can't remember. OoP in 2007 amd HBP in 2008? Any ideas as to why this is so?
REMY-SALINAS - January 17, 2007 08:03 AM (GMT)
Only thing i can think of is there probably worried about the ages of the main actors, actresses maybe?? and who knows shonk you may have a new fav before this movie comes out :P
Shonk Da 'Onk - January 17, 2007 08:07 AM (GMT)
Back to back? What are you talking about there Reggie? The second one came out a year after the first the third and yeare and a half, same as with the fourth and going to be with the fifth and sixth.
Anyway . . . The main reason I love HBP is just because they just seemed to come across as acting a lot more like normal teenages should act in this one. Before the 6th book the only characters that really came across as being your typical teenagers was the Slytherin gang. Actually now that I think of it they must have traded places in this book since Malfoy went all emo and angsty so the rest of the Slytherins just kinda bumbed around looking moody while the Gryffindors had all the fun for once. Hmm I dunno . . . maybe I should read HBP again.
Professor Rogue - January 17, 2007 11:58 AM (GMT)
I meant the year thing when I said "back to back" as in 2007 and 2008 for a movie. Usually, it's like a year and a half or so when the movies come out right? I'm not sure on the actual dates and such of the first couple of ones but I don't recall them coming out so soon like OoP and HBP, though as you're pointing out, I could be wrong.
I think I'd have to agree with you on them acting more like typical teens in HBP. I feel the same way about Draco as he went allmost physco on his fellow Slytherin's, would have been nice to see him not do this but yeah. Draco just seems to be a lost canon.
Shonk Da 'Onk - January 18, 2007 02:38 AM (GMT)
I knoiw what you mean and I was just saying the second and first ones were the only ones brought out back to back. With all the others including OotP and HBP it's been/going to be a year and half inbetween them. :)
Nah it's made perfect sense for Draco's character to go the way he did. He's basiclly been nothing more than an imature brat teenager for the majority of the books and then suddenly in HBP he has had to grown up real fast . . . so yeah . . . he kinda went along the same lines as Harry did in OotP.
Dana Lynn - January 22, 2007 03:17 AM (GMT)
I think that is awesome that they have already come out with a release date for the 6th movie! Alot of people were afraid there wouldn't even be a 6th movie so I guess that makes alot of us feel alot better! Anyways, Thanks for the info Remy!
D. L. Button - January 23, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
Cheers to this news, indeed! :wizard:
Allthough as a side noe, I'm doubting thier terribly concerned with the looks of the main characters ages much at this point. Isn't the actor who plays Ron allready 18 and what not? (I'm having an pold age moment on his name at the mo'... oh well.) In any case, the actors can look older to play 16/17 year-olds, yeah?
Me thinks Shonki is right on the year and a half thing, though I've never quite kept track myself. Sounds about right
Shonk Da 'Onk - January 25, 2007 03:39 AM (GMT)
It is right, I've checked and I don't know why everyone is complaining about there ages considering every darn American teenage movie I have ever seen has a bunch of 24 year old playing the teenagers and no one ever complains about them so they can get over it in my opinion.
Changing the actors now would be ridiculous and stoopid . . .
REMY-SALINAS - January 25, 2007 06:06 AM (GMT)
lol i agree that changing any of the characters now would be a bad thing to do if it was me i would have signed all of them for a seven movie deal. I wonder who will direct it this time?
Shonk Da 'Onk - January 25, 2007 10:20 AM (GMT)
 Yeah . . . this time. The directors just don't seem to last long now do they. Been through four already now right?
Ingrid - February 11, 2007 05:01 PM (GMT)
yep.... four....
thats quite a lot if ask me... lol
but the directors are doing a great job. i think anyways.
the films seem just to b getting better and better!
as well as the books, so intense and full of suspense...
i want to read the 7th book but i also don't want to.
if u know wat i mean cos, i want the series to go on forever!
Don't u?
will's gurl - April 16, 2007 11:54 PM (GMT)
I have read the whole series 7 times, and I hve most of the Half-Blood Prince (as well as the others) memorized. I go around reciting whole pages to my friends, and I cant wait for the movie so I can memorise that too! lol
REMY-SALINAS - April 17, 2007 07:24 AM (GMT)
that is so awesome gosh i can barely memorize the tittles ot the books lol. So what do you think is going to happen in the last book?? will it be a happy ending or will there be some sort of twist that catches everyone off guard and if so what willl this little twist be??
Shonk Da 'Onk - April 17, 2007 08:57 AM (GMT)
I hope there will be a twist because I'm sick to death of happy endings of any kind. They irritate me to no end.
RNCybergate - April 19, 2007 07:02 PM (GMT)
What?...are you telling me that you would prefer to see Voldemort win?
I don't mind harry snuffing it...but Voldemort HAS to snuff it too...he just has to.
Personally I can just picture Harry sacrificing himself for his friends...but lets see...
RedButterfly - April 19, 2007 07:06 PM (GMT)
I'd lime to see Harry take Voldemort out but in doing so he ends up dying as well... they are after all connected because of the actions Voldemort took against Harry when he was a baby.
RNCybergate - April 19, 2007 07:45 PM (GMT)
IF Voldemort should in any way come out victorious then for havens sake I hope it will be spectacular...with a nice twist.
Enslave all the muggles HAhahahahaaa...kill the mudbloods..kill them all ..every one of them... torture the Dursleys. :naughty:
(((***Ahem***...)))
Ok...seriously now... .Voldy can't win...he just can't..it would go against all principles...
If it has to be then let there be a great battle..ruin London..turn it into ashes by all means..but the good side has to win...
Shonk Da 'Onk - April 20, 2007 05:49 AM (GMT)
REMY-SALINAS - April 20, 2007 05:48 PM (GMT)
honestly it gets boring seeing the good guys win all the time. I wish i could go into a movie or read a book and be suprised by the ending. Now no matter what happens to the hero i know at the end of it he will miraculausly prevail and save the day -- BORING.
RNCybergate - April 20, 2007 10:47 PM (GMT)
Fine you want a nasty dreadful ending..ill give you an ending...
How about this...:
**************
Now that Voldemort knows that Dumbledores dead he will feel invincible.
Feeling that the time is right he now starts to attack muggles and wizards (mostly mudbloods) like he did many years ago.
Families after families, loose friends or family members , and even the trio are not left untouched.
One night Voldemort shows up on Hermoines door step, were she tries to protect her parents from Voldemort...(obviously in vain)
Outmatched she gets tortured to insanity and finally killed by Voldemort.
This drives Harry and Ron mad...
In a duel with Voldemort, (in the 'ruined' streets of London) Voldemort first kills Ron in front of Harries eyes....
HArry then tries to Duel with Voldemort, but Voldemort nasty as he is disarms him and while laughing, breaks Harries wand in half.
Now wandless Harry throws himself at Voldemort, but Voldemort still laughing, disappertes before HArry can reach him...leaving a very distraught and lonely harry behind.
Feeling hopeless and filled with grief Harry then tries to protect the last remaining person who he really cares about….Ginny
But he soon realises that he comes to late to help her…. Instead he finds a ruined burrow and Voldemort hovering over Ginnys lifeless body…
Cracking up, Harry again tries to attack Voldemort but just like before Voldemort (who now finds it amusing to make Harry angry) disapperates before Harry can do anything against it.
A few deatheaters request to have the honour of killing harry, but Voldemort refuses.
Harry becomes insane and the wizarding public looses hope…a dark age emerges.
Choas and hardship can be found everywhere and the ministry decides to bow to Voldemorts rule.
(some however go into hiding, where they continue to plan and fight against Voldemort)
Somehow Harry recovers, but noticing that he just can’t cut it against Voldemort, he goes into hiding (with the rest of the remaining wizards and witches who are still against Voldemort) just like Voldemort had done…(vowing to return someday stronger and hopefully able to destroy Voldemort once and for all)
The tables have been turned...and roles have been reversed...
(which also leaves room for a sequel...return of the hero :P )
Now if that isn’t a dark dreadful ending what is…
Happy SHonks? ;)
REMY-SALINAS - April 21, 2007 06:33 AM (GMT)
now that would be a great ending :) thank you rupin.
Shonk Da 'Onk - April 21, 2007 06:43 AM (GMT)
LOVE IT!!! It's brilliant . . . apart from the bit about Harry getting un-insane. He should stay insane and if there is a sequal it will be funny 'cause it would be crazy attempta to kill Voldemort BAAHAHAHAHAHAAAA
dreamdancer7699 - April 22, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
LMAO! You guys are really just too funny. I really hope the ending isn't like that, because I've grown to like the characters of the trio too much to want them dead. However it would be really great to see someone make a parody of it in that kind of light. Like "Wicked" which was written in parody of "Wizard of Oz". That was a great book, and it was from the Wicked Witch of the West's view point, and it started with ehr childhood, and showed Dorothy as a bratty little girl who was a little theif, and Glinda the Good With of the North was like her ex-bestfriend with a grudge trying to make her miserable or something. In that book, you felt for the Wicked Witch and therefore you were were hoping she would win. It would be great if there was a book or series about Voldemort's point of view. Then I would want him to win and be ok with him taking out self-rightous trio and everyone else in the world who wronged him. :D
Twilight - April 22, 2007 10:58 PM (GMT)
A parody from Voldemort's point of view? Or perhaps Snape's? It would have to be done as a musical! It would be the biggest hit since "Springtime for Hitler"!
dreamdancer7699 - April 23, 2007 12:32 AM (GMT)
OMG ROTFLMAO!!!! I can just picture Voldy singing and dancing as he sings about the wretched Potter child who killed his only true friend in the world, the Basilisk. Lucious Malfoy singing about the evil house-elf that betrayed his family when all they ever did was love him. Draco singing about how all he ever wanted was to be Harry's friend. Oh god that's just too funny for me to handle right now.
Shonk Da 'Onk - April 25, 2007 07:15 AM (GMT)
 Brilliant!
Have you guys heard of the Wolf's Tail. That's Little Red Riding Hood from the Big Bad Wolf's point of view. It was my absolute favoutite book as a kid. In the story all the Wolf wanted was to eat Little Red's chicken that she was taking to her Grandma but according to Little Red chicken is bad for wolves but good for sick grandma's so she makes it her own goal to turn the wolf vegetarian basically. You really feel for the wolf . . . especially after Little Red get's him trapped down in this big hole and feeds him nothing but pea soup. :D
dreamdancer7699 - April 25, 2007 11:13 PM (GMT)
HEHE!!!!! That's funny! I've never heard of that before but it sounds great! Poor Wolfie! :P
REMY-SALINAS - May 1, 2007 06:44 AM (GMT)
i talked to leona today and she said she heard that one of the guys from pirates of the carribean "norrington" might be cast in the half-blood prince movie.
ilovemagic - May 20, 2007 03:22 AM (GMT)
That would be great! What part did he play in Pirates of the Caribean? I'm not really familiar with Pirates of the Caribean or a fan of it. D'you know which part he'll be playing in HBP movie?
REMY-SALINAS - May 20, 2007 05:30 AM (GMT)
He was the guy who fought will and captain jack on top of the wheel thingie for possesion of the dead man's chest in the second movie as for who he will play i dont know about that. maybe leo knows more??
Twilight - May 21, 2007 02:13 AM (GMT)
He played Norrington in both of the Pirates movies. Maybe he'll be a "baddie" in half-Blood Prince, too.
loonylovegood5678 - July 9, 2007 03:05 AM (GMT)
That movie release date is awesome! Don't they usually take about two years to make? A little over a year is like a double bonus.
