sailorleo - January 10, 2007 10:14 PM (GMT)
Ok hi Ya'll and welcome to the Drama clubs first official meeting, Our first order of business will be introductions.
My name's Leona as most of you already know. I enjoy theater a lot. I have a pretty creative mind, and as far as skills that I bring to the table, I'm a pretty good singer, actor and dancer. I also enjoy designing clothes and painting sets. ((these skills can be completely fabricated to fit with your rp character))
ok, now everyone else's turn....and while we wait i'm gonna jump into our next topic. Skit night. Basically skit night, will consist of, you guessed it, skits. These said skits can be anything you can thing of that is a performing art, even a band performing a set. Any one who wishes to participate that's in the club can. and in the intrest of length if a person wants to participate with multiple acts, they can.
actually rping will be sorta different than how im sure most of you are used to.
when people are singing, for the sake of argument, it's gonna look like a regular rp instead of just copying and pasting the song. This is done to allot emotion and choreography, as well the character's thoughts this makes for a more interesting read, and when it comes time to audition for plays and the musical, we shall judge based on how well one manipulates the emotion etc.
ok, next topic, then i'll shut up...we need to pick a musical, so for the time being every one list musicals that they'd like to see performed for the school.
oh, and any questions just ask me
Dana Lynn - January 11, 2007 02:22 AM (GMT)
My name is Dana Lynn and I love to sing, and I like to act too. I can be creative, but it takes me a little while to get into my groove. And I love to paint so I will very much enjoy working on sets and things. I am really looking foward to performing.
The musicals I would love to see done would probably be Les Miserabe, Grease, and although it isn't a musical I think doing a play about Gone with the Wind would be different and interesting. I am pretty much up for anything, but I would really enjoy the ones I listed above the most.

Hellossss! I'm MJ. (As I think we all know... unless you know me as MJmort, lol) Anyway... I'm in love with drama. I've done ballet as a little kid but you won't catch me dead in ballet ever again though tap sounds like it could be fun. I can't carry a tune or at least I think so. I like to sing with Kaz, who can really hit her notes, but I think I just kill what ever song it once was. People tell me I can sing and I laugh at them. Recording anyone? No I didn't think so... I'm learning (VERY slowly) how to play guitar. Know about 5 chords... lol
I enjoy poetry A LOT! My sister entered a young poets comp at my age and got into the books. That's now my dream. I want to be just like my sister (Yes I know that sounds retarded).
I love music! Lately been listening to some stuff that's made me bucket tears so yeah... I just love it!
Musicals? That sounds like fun. Having one this year at schools drama club (I'll probably end up a backgroud tree) and I think it could be fun. I don't have a clue what I'd like to see done for that though. Sorry I ain't much help there. I'd love to see Romeo and Juliet done somewhere along the lines though... I love that story. It was my inspiration along with my sis.
Sooo... Skit night sounds like real fun! Can you give us a little sample of what you mean when we rp the song with thoughts of your charcter? Just wondering how that'll work without clashing like heck.
Over all I'm excited about this! Sounds like this is gona be a whole new world of RPing! YAY!!! I loves drama...

ok MJ, sure a sample rp! done at 1:30 A.M....oooo this'll be fun....
Leona walked up on stage incredibly nervous to perform in front of all these students. Her lips were dry and her palms were clammy. She had stayed up all night rehearsing the song making sure she got it just right. She stood on center stage and blocked the spot light from her eyes. She saw all the hardly enthused students looking back at her and she shut her eyes tightly shut. Her music began playing and if she didn't start she was going to miss her cue. She summoned up her courage and began to sing softly, and letting on a little nervousness in her voice. "Did that really just happen? Have I actually understood?," she began playing with her hands and quickly forced herself to stop, "this weird quirk I've tried to suppress or hide, is a talent...that could help me meet the wizard..." she ended the line on a faint run, feeling her nervousness wash away, she could do this, she thought....
yeah..it doesn't have to be that long, but you wanna give some depth to the singing like put some thought behind it or it could look like this
Did that really just happen?
Have I actually understood?
This weird quirk I've tried to supress or hide
is a talent-
that could help me meet the wizard
which isn't so much fun to read....
any way i hoped that helped.

Dusty Dorsy - January 16, 2007 11:58 AM (GMT)
Hey Dusty here. I enjoy all aspects of Drama, Im good at short skits. Oh Dana Gone with the Wind is a Musical. If it wasnt they wouldnt have put it on in the Music Theater a few years back. Leo if we have enough people signed up I would like to see Oklahoma, Man of LaMancha, IN the Beginning, Titanic, Unsinkable Molly Brown, Cats, Little Orphan Annie, Annie Get YOur Gun, Forever Plaid, Fiddler On the Roof, Miss Siagon, Annie (takes place after Little Orphan Annie), Young America Miss, Aidia (no its not just a opera now). as a play if we decide to do just a play to warm up and get used to this I say Evil Doings at Queen Toots Tomb (fun to do). I Also did a lot of skits when I was younger my favorite being The Bubble Gum Skit. it uses about five people we just would have to ask Reg if we can use his name.
