I would have to say that this movie was absolutly horrible. Fox always seem to butcher every movie that they touch. Come on now, they made up have of the movie. I loved the book but the movie was terrible!! If you have not seen the movie, please don't waste your time or money. Because the first 30 mintues of the movie is correct and then from there, the rest is so wrong. *Cries*

IM sorry to disagree with you. But I happened to like the movie.. Its just like what happened with Harry Potter I think they stuck to the main plot well but they had to change a few things. Now Im not saying that they didnt make mistakes I mean yea it would be so much better if they did the actual dreams in the movie that were in the book and kept her sleeping when he found her and if they actually broke the sky sapphire which happened in the book.. and the ending should have had him off to the Elves and they should have shown the king dying and that kind of thing. but i think they did a good job leaving it open for the second movie Eldest to come.

I'm only seeing it for the effects. I already know the movie is crap . . . I've never read the books but I have heard enough to know that it is a disappointment in the plot department. :)

Anyway . . . I like to watch these type of movies because they just look stunning. Seriously I drooled all the way through LotR and not just because of the actors. I love the design in everything and from what I've seen of Eragon and the fact that the same design team worked on it has gotten me excited.

The graphics are totally awesome and so is the movie, if you have never read the book. Even though the movie was butchered, it still flowed pretty well. I was just irritated that FOX would do that to such a good book. But FOX has a rep of doing that anyways.

Psh no movie ever done about on a book is ever as good as the book. It's almost basiclly considered a fact. Oh well . . . all I know is that I'm going to see Happy Feet before I go to see Eragon.

I love penguins. :P

It isnt as bad as some of the movies based on books i have seen I mean I think the Clan of the Cave bear movie was the worst one. I mean they left out huge plot development in that movie.. they didnt really in this one.

Speaking as someone who has seen the film and read all…well two of the three books ;)….

Obviously the films never going to be as good as the books…that an obvious fact and its going to happen to every film.

In my opinion they did a pretty good job with what they had…ok so they had to change a lot of the plots...particularly that concerning Roran and they totally left Katarina as well as a few minor details in certain situations…but then again you have to choose what you can put in, what you need and what you can get away with.

Considering the resources which they had I feel they still managed to make quite a good film.

Remember it’s the directors…privileges to change the plot if he/she so wishes.
(They only have a limited budget and about 2 hours to work with (usually) so obviously a few sacrifices had to be made.

Overall I think it’s a good film.
Can hardly wait for ‘eldest’ to come out.
Does anyone know when Christopher will be finishing the third book?
If the third book is already written could you tell me its name?

Thanks

I have a small question…

I can’t remember the books saying that if the rider died so would the dragon.

“the rider can live on if the dragon dies,
But if the rider dies so does his dragon”

Could you tell me where this is mentioned in the books?

Thanks

this is said in Eragon. where brom finally tells Eragon that he is a dragon rider. Remember Sapphira was Brom's dragon's name. Or it might not actually be said I knowt he last part is said through out the books its mentioned both in Eragon and Eldest. I think also where Brom tells Eragon about the King being a Rider and that his dragon died in a fight and he got a new one using black magic. Im not sure where exactly but its in the first one. Either that or its in eldest.. I know its in one of the two.

Normally he doesn't release his books until JK does. He tries to wait until after she does. But I do know that It should be sometime this year. Plus, if you have gotten Eldest: Collector's edition, the next book name is Inheritance. There is only 3 books to the series. Well at least to these series.

I thought the series was known as Inheritence . . . not the third book.

I actually liked this movie alot. Sure, it wasn't as great as the book, but it had good quality action that was entertaining. People really need to assess movies and books on different levels. Most movie versions, whether bad or not, have a lot of good points just like the books do.

Well from the 20 minutes that I saw it was good although I have yet to read the book mainly cause Im sure I will get bored cause it seems so big anyways what happens in the movie.
