Ali sat on the windowsill with Morgaine beside her, finishing up a letter home. She had been down here a hour or so, mainly trying to get what she deemed fresh air. She had been around big crowds of course, living in Paris, but she had her own private room at home that she could be alone if she wanted to. Now, it felt like to her that there was people everywhere. almost crawling out of the walls. The moving paintings and ghosts only made it worse. So she had escaped down here between classes, under the pretence of writing a letter.

Now, after writing a two page letter, she felt much better. She began to roll the letter up to tie on Morgaine's leg, singing a french lullaby that she could remeber.

Remy:Slytherin's Official Future

Remy was in walking along the owlery hoping to find his owl blizzy when he saw a figure sitting on a windowsill. He walked up to the girl and extended his hand out "hi i'm remy nice to meet ya" he said smiling at her. "i don't think we've met before are you ok? you aren't hiding from anyone are you? he asked her

She started when she heard the other person come in and quit singing. Trying to act nonchalant, she finished tying the letter on Morgaine's leg and sent her off. She gave him a small smile as he extended his hand.

"Bonjour Remy. I'm Alisynnne, Ali for short." She shook his hand and then at his question, shook her head.

"No we haven't met yet, which is surprising. I think Imet half the school on my first night here. I'm perfectly fine, just needed a little break from the crowds. It's like being stuck on the metro all day and all night! But I was actually fixing to come in anyhow."

Remy:Slytherin's Official Future

"That's a cool name" he smiled, "if it was me i'd be a bit overwhelmed with all the crowds as well" he continued. Suddenly a whoosh was heard as a snowy owl gracefully entered and landed by Remy's foot. "this here is my owl blizzard, we call him blizzy for short" he said explaining to Ali. Turning to the owl he said "And where were you? i've been looking all over for you" remy said as his owl jumped up and down trying to explain to him what had happened to him.

"Merci beucoup. And I'm glad to hear I'm not tohe only one to get used to these crowds."

Just then, she felt an owl whoosh by her, and she saw a beautiful snowy owl land beside the older Remy. As the owl began to hop around, Ali had to giggle.

"Blizzy must have something important to tell you, with all that hopping!"

Remy:Slytherine's Official Future

Remy looked at Ali "yea he's a real attention seeker this one" Remy said smirking. "He probably got into some firewhiskey somewhere and is all hyped up on booze" he said angrily. Suddenly blizzy stopped hoping and kicked remy in his leg. Remy looked down and laughed "ha ha idiot im bigger than you and i didn't even feel your little kick" he said talking to his owl.

[Dan walked up the stairs to the owlry with a large bag of walnuts in his hand. Sometimes he liked to come up and give the owls some...It kept him busy. Dan noticed that Remy was up there and wasabout to yell when he saw a girl also, a girl he didn't know.] "Hey! Whats up?" [Dan asked the two of them when he got up the stairs. He putthe bag of walnuts down by the door and dusted off his hands.] "I'm Dan." [He said extending his hand to Ali. Dan smiled.]

Dai was nearing a very sour mood by the time she reached the school Owlry. Her first week here seemed to have ended in embarrassment and sour moods a lot. Which in turn, made the first year girl even more sour on the whole deal. In any case, having gotten entirely lost three different times on the way here, the young witch had ripped a severe tear in her rolled up (and now crinkled) letter home.

The girl didn't really care and in her huff stormed up the stairs and was intent on going through the doorway and borrowing a school owl. Only, as Dai passed the sculpted stone arch, she plowed right into the back of a very solid and very warm person. With a thud, Dai fell ungracefuly onto her backside. She looked up to find her house mate Dan standing there, and in the windowsill sat her friend Ali. There was also an unknown Slytherin in the room.

What was it with this Hogwarts and people congregating at unexpected times?

Blinking and all ready feeling her cheeks redden, Dai looked up at Dan. “Err, 'ello Dan. Sorry mate, for running into you.”

Looking back across the Owlry, Dai waved her crumpled letter at Ali. “Hi again.”

Leona rushed up to the owlry in a panic. She had forgotten to mail an important letter to her unlce in regards of him sending to her, her cat She was suddenly stopped when she saw how many people there were in the owlery. She saw Dai and her crumpled up letter, "I can fix that," she said and muttered a charm she had used alot for reparing paper,specificly a sketchbook.

[Suddenly a whole lot of people filed into the owlery. Dai and Leo...] "Hello Ladies...And Remy" [He said yelling to everyone even the people he had already spoken to.]

Dai stared at her freshly repaired letter for a moment. It'd be nice to be able to work spells like that.

“Hi Leo,” the witch said from her awkward position on the floor, “Thanks for that.”

Rubbing her ear with the other hand, Dai looked back to Dan. “No thanks to you for yellin' in my bleedin' ear though.”

Standing herself back up, Dai went to pat the dust from her robes and scrunched her face up at what she found. “Eww, leave it to me to go and land on my bum in owl droppings.”

She bursted out laughing when Blizzy kicked Remy in the leg. She had never seen any owl, or animal for that matter, act so funny.

"Remy, if owls could be comedians, you have a first-rate one right there! And he actually drinks? I didn't know owls could do those kinda things."

Just then, she saw Dan walk up. Managing to calm herself down, she took his hand and gave it a quick shake, introducing herself.

"Bonjour Dan, I'm Alisynne or Ali for short. Me and Remy here" She waves her hand towards Remy and then Blizzy,"are just having a luagh at the expense of Blizzy."

Just then, she managed to hold back a groan. She was thinking along the same lines as Dai. People congregated too much around here and in the oddest of places.

"Bonjour Leo and Dai."

Phoenix was walking her way up to the owlery to send a little to her nurse Della back at home. She missed her a great deal but she knew that Hogwarts was the best place for her. As Phoenix reached the entrance of the owlery she noticed that there were quite a few people in there. She knew a few but the others she didn't. "Hey Leo, Dan and Remy!" Phoenix gave them a quick wave and then turned to two other girls that she did not know, "Hello ladies my name is Phoenix and its a pleasure to meet you." Phoenix also gave the two girls a little wave. Then Phoenix remembered that she had a letter to send off. She reached up to an old school owl and tied the letter to the owls leg, then gave him a treat and sent him on his way. Phoenix turned back to the giggling crowd and said, "Its like you folks have the case of the giggles!!" Phoenix smiled and then started to giggle as if it was contagious.

Leona looked at Dai and said, "no problem," and walked up to a school owl and sent it off with her letter requesting her cat, "so what's going on in your worlds guys?" She asked curiously as her life was going slow she hoped someone was having more fun. SHe looked around wondering if it was gonna happen though.

"Bonjour Phoniex, I'm Alisynne"

She returned the wave and then turned to Leo to answer her question.

"I've gotten lost around here a few times but otherwise not much."

She held back the thought of saying that people seemed to group up in odd places. She was sure it would be seen as rude, even though it ws the truth.

"French...Nice. You are the first I have came acrossed that spoke french. I know a little german but not much. So Guten Tag, Alisynne." Phoenix gave her a little smile hoping that she didn't think that she wasn't weird.

Remy:Slytherine's Official Future

Remy just glared at blizzy as more and more students came into the owlery. He shook his finger at his owl and said "ok this is way to much for one night go on with the other owls and get some rest". Suddenly blizzy flew up and bit remy's finger not enough to make it bleed but enough to make it sting. Blizzy then flew off towards slytherin's dungeons. "you better not sleep in my bed stupid bird" remy shouted in frustration. He turned around to the other people in the room "whoa hi um Dan, Leona, Phoenix and New girl. He laughed and smiled at Dai saying "sorry i don't know your name mine's remy he said as he grinned and held out his hand.

Phoenix chuckled a bit when Remy's owl had bit him. She felt a little bad for lauhing. Phoenix walked over to one of the windows and sat on the ledge. She was a bit tired from climbing all the stairs to the owlery. She was sitting back watching all the other students talking and giggle among themselves. Then out of nowhere Remy's owl Blizzy flew off down the stairs. Remy was yelling at him for some reason but then turned back to all the other students again. Phoenix leaned againstthe edge of the window and closed her eyes to enjoy the cool air from outside. She heard her name but it was like she wasn't there. Phoenix could feel herself doze off and then she felt like she was falling. But Phoenix couldn't wake up. She cried out for help......

Dai gave her hand one last scrub on her once clean Gryffindor robes. She nodded to an older girl who strode in and introduced herself while mailing a letter of her own. Replying to the girl, the witch said, “'Ello Phoenix. Pleasure to meet you too.”

During the course of these greetings, Dai noted from the corner of her eye, a conversation the older Slytherin boy had going on with his owl. Who seemed to take a bite out of him in response. The boy seemed to shrug off the whole exchange as the owl flew away and turned to hod his hand out to the first year with a greeting. Dai assured herself that her hand was free of owl excrement before grasping the offered hand. “Pleasure too, Remy. I'm Dai. And just now I reckon I look like a moppete left out in the gutters to long.”

Leo turned conversation to what was going on in the students lives, and Dai slipped all the way into the Owlry to lean against the wall near Ali's window. “I agree with Ali. I get lost all the time. Three times on the way here in fact!” The girl waved her letter again, in danger ruining the thing once more. “Between that and classes and this bleedin' essay I haven't written yet for Transfiguration, theres not much of fun interest going on... Hey, what's with Phoenix over here? Phoenix, mate, maybe you outn't dose against a window sill, ya know? Phoenix?”

Remy:Slytherine's Official Future

"Hi dai" he said as he heard her name. He looked around the room and wondered what he was going to do that day, when he heard Dai ask something about phoenx. He turned around to look at phoenix and heard her scream. Remy got a puzzled look on his face as he wondered waht had happened Pheonix was sleeping by the window and was perfectly safe she looked like she was having a bad nightmare

Phoenix woke up from all the commotion that was going all round her. "I am so sorry that I fell asleep. Whats going?" Phoenix had a confused look on her face. She wasn't sure why everyone was looking at her. Phoenix has always had dreams that weren't all that great. She was a little embarrassed. "Did I say or do anything while I was sleep that offended someone?" Phoenix's face was all blushed from the embarrassment.

Remy:Slytherine's Official Future

Remy saw phoenix wake up and look a little disoriented so Remy walked over to Phoenix and smiled. "You were having a pretty intense dream there, do you remember anything about it?" Remy asked her. He wondered how many more of these kinds of dreams she had been having. He looked at phoenix and silently waited for her response.

"No, I don't. I know I have the horrible dreams but I can never remember them. We sometimes I do. The really bad ones. I'm so sorry that I feel asleep. I don't sleep much." Phoenix smiled back at Remy. "Sometimes I forget that I have them."

Dai eyed the other girl for a moment. Phoenix looked pretty embarrassed about the whole deal. Dai understood that feeling all to well. Offering a tentative smile and a grin to the Ravenclaw girl Dai said, “Well, you know, I'd say History of Magic is a better place to nod off than one of the highest towers in the castle if your going to catch up during the day.”

With a casual shrug and smile far more confident, Dai turned to eye up the school owls with her letter still in hand and continued in a conversational manner. “All these folks standing 'round here is actually pretty interesting after all. Binns on the other hand, he's 'dead' boring, he is.”

"Thanks, Dai. I will keep that in mind." Phoenix said with a yawn. Phoenix smiled and said warmly, "Are you going to send your letter off?" Phoenix giggled at the comment on what Dai had said but didn't completely understand what it had mean't. "Dai, what exactly did your comment mean. Sometimes I can be a little slow."

Dai Button
Dai spotted a large brown owl on a lower perch and made her way cautiously toward it as she answered. "Yeah, I'm sending a letter to the parents, and yeah, I'm planning on doin' that now. If I can catch this guy."

Dai snorted at this. She'd not always had the best of luck with owls. She continued on anyway, "And what I was saying is that, well, Professor Binns is a ghost, a dead guy and all. So, his lessons are 'dead' boring. Bad pun, really."

Leo laughed, "yeah, pretty bad, but I've made worse, believe me," She looked at Dai try to catch hold of an owl, "Give it some feed," she said, "Owls like some food and they'll come to you for it, so you're not chasing it," she said trying to be helpful. She looked around "I guess everyone's getting in their Christmas wishlists then eh?" She asked trying to rationalize the congregation of people.

[Dan moved back over and picked up his walnuts. He spread them out all over the floor and watched all the owls swoop down at the same time and take them. Some of them pecked at eachother but mostly it looked like thwy were just having some fun.] "Owls..." [He said.]

She had hung back during all the excitment, getting quite uncomfortable again. But when she heard Pheoniex mention her trouble sleeping, her mind went into overdrive, thinking about what she knew for insominia. Unfortunately, she also began muttering.

"Art de l'auto-portrait de Chomille et de lavender..relaxes un. Le thé de baume de citron aide aussi"

Dai and Leo's conversation brough her out of of her mutterings and she bit he lip, hoping no one heard her. At the mention of History, she felt the need to defend it.

"Oui, the teacher isn't very good about it but's actually much more interesting. My mama is supposed to send some books on History as soon as she can get around to Diagon Alley. As for the owl, are you shouting at it to make it stop? If you are , it could be feeling threatened."

Biting her lip as she realized her faux pas, she hoped that Dai wouldn't get mad. She had begun to count the fellow first year as friend and didn't want to hamper it because she couldn't shut her own mouth.

Dai quite abruptly had two light bulbs go on, as it were. With having Dan toss out a handful of walnuts and Ali's valid point about not verbally venting her growing temper on the bird, it was quite possible she could catch the bugger. "Yosh, thanks Dan for the impromtu owl food, and Ali.... you've a point on that, mate. Now we know why I'm a rat person, myself. Don't much care about a temper tantrum unless you throw them, rats."

Never noticing any change of expression from the othes in the room, Dai bent down and cautiously coaxed a smaller brown owl on to her arm with a walnut. The witch continued, still facing the opposite direction, as she stood back up with owl on arm. "Your right on History though, I'll give you that much. If you find any particularly gruesome points on the Goblin Rebelion of 1630 in those books of yours, I'll have to beg off your lending them to me."

"Dai be careful. They still bite even though you have walnuts." Warned Phoenix. "Don't feel bad. The owls don't really care for us either. There not my fav, but obliviously we have to use them." Phoenix went over toward Dai to help her coax the owl over to her so she could put the letter on his leg. "Come on buddy. Come on." Phoenix was trying to be a warm as possible so the owl wouldn't be frighten.

[Dan shook his head to what Pheonix said about having to use them.] "No. We don't have to use owls. We could use another type of bird. Owls are just best for night traveling. We could even hand deliver them...If we didn't get in trouble for leaving school grounds that is." [Dan added. It was quite true owls were the best.] "Although...Who would know?" [He added more to himself than to others but still said it loud enough to be heard.]

"I know Dan, but it's just easier to use an owl verses any other way!! Smart Alec." Phoenix gave him a look to kill. "I was just trying to help. If you can do a better job, then do it, smart pants!!!" Phoenix wasn't trying to be nasty but he was being nasty to her.

She wrinkled her nose when Dai said she preferred rats. She could never imagine tolerating little stinky rodents and bit her lip from saying so.

"Oui, I think Mama is sending me a book just about the Goblin Rebellions. As for owls, I rather like them, Morgaine has been behaving well for me. I'm probably a cat or dog person even more so then owls. As for other birds, pigeons used to be used for muggle mail in the early medieval ages."

For anyone listening, they would have to laugh at the mix of muggle and wizard history in her little rant. For her though, it was perfectly normal.

[Dan stuck his toung out at Pheonix.] "I don't like you!" [He said jokingly.]

[Then he heared what Ali said and couldn't help smiling, although he always smiled, it was amusing to hear how some of the first years spoke. I don't mean in accent or anything like that...Just what they said. Although, he wondered what he sounded like a year ago. Daniel shrugged and went back to feeding the owls.]

"Hrm. That'd be great on the books than, Ali. Be much appreciated, it would. S' nice to hear Muggle facts from you too, Ali, some folks round this school think I'm odd fro mentioning Muggle things. 'Course, now I'm rooming with a girl who's got two muggle parents and all... I'm rambling here."

The girl poked out her tongue, and with concentration and the help of Phoenix, managed to manuevere the bird long enough to tie her letter to it's leg before giving it a rather zealeous toss out the Owlry window.

Remy:Slytherin's Official Future

Remy heard all the people talking back and forth and his mind started to wander. He was once again feeling overcrowded and he went to the window that phoenix had been near earlier and looked outside of it. He saw the clear sparkling water of the lake and smiled. He continued to look out the window when a small owl landed on his shoulder. "Hmm what do you want?" remy said as he turned his head to look at it.

"Whatever Dan, you love me." Phoenix giggled. She jokingly fluttered her large eyelashes and threw him a kiss with her hand. Phoenix heard partly of what Dai said. She gave her a smile and then noticed that Remy walked over to the window. A little owl seemed to like Remy. Phoenix laughed and just shook her head.

She had to smile herself. the few times she had mentioned muggle facts, she had also gotten odd looks so it was good to have someone understand. Seeing that the other people had either paired off or lost in their own thoughts, she took this as her chance to slip out and find a true hiding spot.

"I hope to see you all later on but I'm going to take a look around and see if I can't find my way better around here."

with a friendly wave to Dai, she slipped out the grand door, figuring that most hadn't heard her.

Remy tried swatting away the little owl that was on his shoulder but it didn't go away. Remy was busy shooing away the owl that he didn't notice Ali leaving the owlery. He waved his hands in the air back and forth until the owl finally left. He turned back to look out the window alone in his thoughts he was thinking of what new adventure he was going to have this day.
