The three letters that have given us much to wonder about over the years.
Who is he?
Is he even a he?
Why?
When?
How?

I might just know. While browsing Mugglenet and it's crazy links and sub-forums, I came across a site that had an article saying who R.A.B is. Apparently,when asked if R.A.B is a male or female,JKR answered by saying who he is.
A clue there: R.A.B is indeed male.

You know, it's funny how much family trees can say about something... it's also funny seeing that JK is practically giving out answers by the bucketload.

Now, that funny stuff I was talking about is that family tree.. and the giving out of answers is underlined in purple.

There isn't any evidence (except that family tree) that points to R.A.B being Regulus Arcturus Black. And im actually going to dismiss my theory: See the dates on the original family tree? Underlined in green and red? ... wait, ignore that.

I sound really thick...but i dont get it....have i missed something???

Uhm... yeah. I just got really confused too. So you were starting to think that it was not Sirius's brother who was R.A.B., but a different relative who was older? And then you saw that the relative you were thinking it could be, diead before any of this stuff with Voldemort even happened? Is that right? Or do you think something is still there to be pondered on, which is why you posted it? Ahhh the confusion!

Yes, I did think that the date and name in green was R.A.B, but then I started thinking that Sirius must be really old then... Anyway, that name, Arcturus, is just there..
Im not sure about this interview with JK where she said who R.A.B is... it's not like her.

Yeah I dont know about that either... The only times I've seen her do that, was when it was a question that she had alredy made clear in one of the previous books... And she defintely was NOT clear about who R.A.B. was. I mean, it seems pretty obvious, but hasn't been confirmed.

Knowing her, that's exactly what I've been thinking too. Or someone that we have heard about, but not much importance was ever placed on them, or at least on their name... :P

It seems that my sources were indeed correct.
R.A.B is Reugulus. This is now confirmed (through it might change, but that's not likely).
JK has said that she told fans who R.A.B is to keep the excitement there; it got a bit boring making up theories on why it's Regulus.

So RAB is Regulus Arcturus Black ... Clever guy is he.

Sure, everyone thought that he's Regulus, but most of us werent sure and didnt want to get our hopes up, then have them squashed... Apparently the interview where JK revealed this info took place in November.
JK hasnt confirmed or denied this yet.

Remember that the person must give blood to enter the cave........in ootp .....while cleaning .....they saw a crystal bottle with an opal for cork filled with blood........and you combine that with locket......then you feel you have hit the jackpot..........wonder why it took me so much time to find this supporting clue...........and thruthfully i thought it would have to be a very old and clever wizard like dumbledore to figure out abt horcrux and all.......regulus was out of my mind.......but as soon as i heard it........it was more logical.
