Well now, we all now,or should all now, that the last word of the 7th book is probably going to be 'scar'. Ive come up with a few possible endings,all of which are insanely lame. But, I read this ending that someone had written for a competition on Mugglenet, and the last line was quite good.
So,please submit what you think the ending will be.

The last line of the last book:

Ginny says this to Harry once the Final Battle is over and Voldemort has been defeated. "Harry, it's gone, it's finally gone...the scar."

As they looked down on his lifless body, the only light left in him was what Voldemort himself had put on him........ his scar

"Harry whats the matter?" Ginny asked "its.....hurting again.....my scar"

'... all because of the power of his scar.'

crap i know :lol: could happen

One never knows. JK might just make Harry die and write something along those lines.
I'll add it to the list.

Harry wakes up in his tiny bed underneath the dursleys stairwell. Fantasy books are all laying around his bed. He turns on his tiny light and looks at himself in the mirror. Harry let out a groan as he saw the truth, it had all been a dream. He was no wizard and he had no scar.

Remy!!! I would so die if that was to happen!!! oh my gosh! I never even though about that until you posted it.

"The only things I have left now is you Ginny and this scar."

"I will always be reminded of the things I have went through and people I have lost when I look into the mirror and see my scar."

I honestly think JK may very well kill Harry because might seriously want the series to end with a BANG! lol I'm just guessing and yeah, didn't JK say that the last word in the book is scar? That's GOT to be meaningful, since that's what caused everything!!

OMG that is sooo funny, if that happens I will strangle somebody!! XD

I think the ending I would make would be:

"Now I will destroy you," Harry threatened and held the final horcrux in his hand, a wand pointed at it.
"Don't you DARE!" Voldemort threatened.
"Goodbye..." Harry aimed his wand at the horcrux, "Voldy..."
"[insert destruction curse]," the wand protruded a jet of light and the horcrux exploded.
With his last ounce of strength, Voldemort called out, "Avada Kadavra!"
Harry was hit by the curse and fell back a few feet, unconcious.
Voldemort, affected by the explosion, screamed in a high pitched voice and disappeared in a wisp of light. The horcruxes had been destroyed. Lord Voldemort was gone. Forever. Ron, Hermione, Neville, Luna, and Ginny rushed to Harry's side.
"Harry, Harry!" Ginny felt for a pulse but there was none.
All that was left alive of the Boy-Who-Lived, Harry Potter, was the slowly diminishing scar.


TADA!!!!

Some 'interesting' ideas (especially Remys, that would be the worst ending to a book series in the history of time....ever!)
I just cant imadgine the book ending STRAIGHT after the final battle. I dont hink J.K. would end it like that without wrapping things up neatly. After the final battle there will be another chapter at least making all the story end neatly. the final word might be scar, she said she may change it because its got so much publicity since she said that (dunno what she expected).
I think the final line will be something like:
(If harry has been killed)...and for that, they will always remember Hary Poter; the boy with the scar.
(or if he is still alive).....and after all he had been through Herry felt strange to look in the mirror and see one thing missing; his scar.

I think Mark's last idea would be cool, the whole Harry-doesn't-look-right-without-his-scar-thing. lol I expect it'll turn out something like that. She did say the last chapter was going to be a sort of epilogue (wikipedia.com). That would be kind funny, Harry: Guys I feel wierd without my scar thingy!!

Yeah, i think theres been too much emphasis on his scar for her just to ignore it at the end. Its his connection the voldemort so one way or another that connection will be ended and the scar might well fade. I actually think It'll be a somewhat happy ending, prob Voldemort dying and harry being with Ginny again, and with voldemort gone harry will live on without his scar. (Im not sure if that would be the best or most entertaining ending, but i think thats whats she'll do.)

gosh now im in a good mood and want to write a new funny ending.

Harry had just defeated voldemort his freinds looked at him as he walked over and said "hells ya im the chosen one" he said as he climbed into his car.

I think you should send it to J.K. before she releases Deathly hollows so she can do a mass reprint of the final chapter. That is if you dont mind her taking the credit for your brilliance of course!

That would be too hilarious. I was actually looking at different threads about possible endings and I think someone should write a letter to JK with all our possible endings written on it. That would give her a good laugh I'm sure! :D

hahaha. that's funny Remy. thought of course the book's already been printed and almost everyone has a copy. but i think i'll just print your ending out and tape it over the real one.

DH struck me as very unimaginative (and depressing), compared to the earlier books, and IMO the ending did indeed suck.

In a discussion thread at another site, someone gave the following advice:

"Ignore DH ... Read fanfic until your eyes bleed!"

I've been reading some of the ones posted in the "Snape after DH Fest" at Live Journal, where I found an interesting one called "Silver and Green: A Quartet."

It's very dark, hard-hitting story about what four Slytherin students did during the battle at Hogwarts. I've always been bothered by the fact that, in DH, none of the Slytherin students stayed.
