Title: The View
Description: Star Jones VS. Barbara Walters

Here's some comments posted by me in an IM about the whole situation concerning Star Jones leaving The View and how it concerns Barbara Walters:

"Well Barbara doesn't like the way Star announced it and how she says she felt like she was fired b/c her contract wasn't renewed and as you know Barbara is an Executive and has something to do with that and Star unexpectantly announed her dismissal on television live on the show and Barbara hadn't planned that and they've spoken out and Barbara has spoken out how she didn't like how Star did it and how Barbara and the show was going to let Star tell the people whatever she wanted and lie to make it look better for her and the show but she told the truth how they didn't renew her contract and she went to a magazine and told them stuff and Barbara didnt like that and Barbara was on Larry King live last night and Star was on tonight and I watched. And Star says how no matter how it is she won't speak out against Barbara b/c she respects her Star says how she knew since April about her being let go and Barbara knew back in Novemeber and didn't say anything b/c it was c lose to christmas and Star had a book coming out

And they say that Star was losing viewer ratings for the show b/c of her weddingand weight loss, whatever the heckthat means. And Star feels betrayed and Star found out Five days after April 21, the day she found out she was being let go, that Rosie was coming on the show and when she went to speak to Barbara about it Barbara told her it was going to happen and to "Wrap herself around it". So it's kind of messy.

(Just hearing that Barbara Walters told her to "Wrap herself around it pisses me off". If I was Star Jones I'd be wrapping myself around something that day and it wouldn't be Rosie if you know what I mean.)

I really don't understand. Rosie is taking Meredith's place though not Star, but its some kind of a conincidence Star said. And right before Rosie starting saying stuff in magazines and stuff about Star's weight and her family (bad things), Barbara went and asked her to join the show and that when Star asked her why she did that. And then stuff with the executives and stuff letting her go and saying stuff about her and lying to her when Star asked them last year if her job was in Jeopardy and they said no.

When really the knew it was and told her nothing.

And one executive said he wished they had dealt with it last year to avoid all of this mess with Rosie and Star and Star felt the executive was a closer friend than that to say something like that.

And Star was suppose to be on til Mid July, and then til Today, Thursday, but she announced it on television Wednesday or Tuesday and didn't come back the next day and they immediately had the Credits redone that next day and Star wasn't in the opening credits. Now there's only 3 host, from the original 5 and Star was on there for 9 years and I feel bad for her. And Barbara and them were going to have this Hour long rememberance of Star on Thursday, her last day and all that for her, but Star didn't want that.

And announced what was going on Earlier than expected and then left. And Star told the truth why she was really leaving and Barbara wanted her to lie and make herself look better and the show look better and is mad she told them whatreally went on, so today on the View Barbara said some thing about the situation about Star on tv and what went on and how she wasn't expecting Star to announce it like that and to say exactly what happened and how she was going to let star say whatever she wanted why she was leaving and was going to stand behind her with that. So just that stuff.

I feel bad for Star and think she should have stayed. She says her ratings were actually up and the ratings for the show were higher than any other time b/c of her wedding and not down.

Got that?"

I saw the special about all of this on the "Larry King Show" tonight and it was explosive! That executive that you're talking about is Brian Frons, the president of ABC Daytime. Star said that she was told in April about her contract not being renewed. Barbara Walters and another exec were given the news in November, but Babara wanted them to wait so they did.

Her contract isn't up until August, so really, she was supposed to be working up until that time. They said till about mid-July. But since she went ahead and made an annoucement (so that ABC Daytime didn't look bad I guess) they just decided that that would be her last day. So she's not on their anymore and they're just going to have some guest hosts until then. I heard that Susan Lucci was supposed to be on their in a few weeks as well as some other daytime stars.

All of it is just a real mess, but this seems to be very explosive news and all.
