Recently, release dates were confirmed by Warner Bros. for the fifth Harry Potter movie. It has been noted that the release date for Australia is nearly two months after most other countries in the world. :( I, along with many others, think that think is most unjust and I have discovered a petition to Warner Bros. asking them to change the Aussie release date. I understand that most of you here are not from Australia, but thought you might like to know about this petition to change an unjust decision by Warner Bros. that is making a whole nation of fans very upset indeed (including me!). Why should Australia wait an extra two months for the movie? :angry: Many people all over the world think that we shouldn't. If you think so too, just go to the link above and sign the petition. I just signed but I do not think there is any need to have the movie come out at the same dates as other places. If you are truly devoted, you can wait. Patience is a virtue. Curiousity can give a faster leap and curiousity killed the cat.

It's totaly unfair that you guys have to wait two months (I signed). HP fans do enough waiting as it is, for the books. But this got me thinking, maybe HP7 is supposed to be released sometime in there... between July 13 and Sept. 6?

No, Heather, I don't have anything against non-english speaking nations. I didn't mean it that way. I just meant that for English speaking nations, no subtitles or dubbing will be needed, but it will be essential for countries that do not speak English. I was just perplexed that those countries would be getting the movie first, because the dubbing and subtitles will take a while to make. Sorry if I offended you. I REALLY didn't mean it.

And Anna, do you know a way I could send a link to the petition to Warner Bros? I would send it to them, but I don't know how to. I am also not sure how many signatures we'd need to make them reconsider, but we are nearing 1000 now, so hopefully they will get the message of how many people they are upsetting.

I am so sorry I didn't post this sooner (I must have been caught up in the excitement), but if you didn't know already, THE PETITION WORKED!!! They've changed our release date back to July 12th! I'm so happy about that!
