Do you think JKR will kill Harry off by the last book? I think that she will. It would be pretty smart of her to, at least in my opinion. Then, nobody would be able to continue on on the Harry Potter legacy. It'll be done and over. Complete. I mean I know that there would be copyrights and stuff all over it, but people could still write about Harry if book 7 ends with him still alive.

Well At first I thought she definaly was going to but then I thought that would leave Voldy in charage and I didn't think she would do that eaither. So I voted for both beacuse I'm unsure. I hope she dosn't but who knows she probley will....

I kinda want him to die because I am sick to death of happy ending and I think Harrys life will end up being slightly pointless once he has killed Voldie but then again . . . I also want him to go mentaly insane. :shifty:

WEll face it, guys. Harry is gonna live- in an interview, JK says, "The last sentence in the book is going to be: 'Harry, where's your scar?'" HAH!
And Reg, as for others writing about Harry, JK said that she doesn't mind fanfiction, asnd actually has read some, even if she believes a lot of the ideas are 'ludicrous'.

Yes I think he will die. Voldemort's magical power became partly infused into Harry. If Harry dies, Voldemort will die. Blood for blood.

I really really hope he doesn't die... though I'm betting he will... just because JKR probably wants to sever all ties, and move on, no matter how much she likes him.

BUT Talon the phrofecy in the 5th or 6th book (cant remeber) said that only one can die so it eather Harry or Voldemort! GO GO HARRY! :blush: umm ok....

Britt- I personally don't think that Harry will die, but there is a way around the prophecy- I read a fanfiction where Voldemort killed Harry with a curse that stopped his heart, and then someone else killed Voldy like 10 seconds later. (HArry was revived thru CPR). BUT the fact is, if one dies, than the other can be killed AFTER they kill the other person the prophecy involves. Just a theory...

Those are all good theories but unfortunately, only JK knows the truth...

I'm really undecided because J.K.Rowling said that someone from the trio is going to die...I really hope it's some other trio but I doubt it. And for some reason the only people I think is mostly likely to live from the trio is Ron...don't ask. and as for what Professor Rogue said about trying to continue the legacy I don't think she minds since it's not going to be published I mean if she were that way just kill him in the third book where things were getting interesting. But I did hear of this person who asked J.K.Rowling if he could write HP books after the sevingth and J.K.Rowling was just like, "Who said Harry's going to be there?" Plus I like how Shonk makes it sound about the mentally insane I'm sorry but it would be FUNNY!

i think harry will live, but he won't be very happy as everyone ELSE will die :tongue:

Rayne, I never heard of JK saying the last sentence, all I've ever heard was her say that the last word was "scar" but even that is subject to change.

Also, someone from the trio dying I've heard but I've always heard that one of Harry's friends will die. I'm thinking Neville.

Lastly, I just had a thought. Becuase of the Lost Prophecy of Harry and Voldermort, "One will live while the other dies" if Harry dies, wouldn't have automatically mean that Voldermort lives? I'd hate that.

It is also important to think of something Dumbledore once said. (R.I.P. Albus.) About putting too much in store by the prophecy, because you all keep mentioning the prophecy. Not all prophecy's are filled, remember? They could both kill each other, the prophecy isn't necessarilly right. And just because scar is the possible last word, doesn't mean Harry survives, It could be something like 'Voldemort could not be defeated, not even by the One with the scar' or something more clever than what I can come up with. And yes, there will be more deaths, JKR promised so. The last chapter is devoted to the surviving characters, and she said that THERE WILL be more deaths, you can count on it. As for Harry dying, I'm not sure, gonna have to read and find out. (I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!)

:huh: I think at the end of the whole series, Harry is going to die, but I think that he is going to choose to die, like his mom. You know that death room in the Ministry of magic, the one with the arch and curtin, I think Harry is just going to decide to walk through it but only after he has killed voldy. ( I really am going off the deep end here) He wants to meet up with his parents and sirius. On the other hand, it would be totally cool if he kills off voldy and then becomes the dada teacher, and then headmaster of Hogwarts. :firedevil:

i didn't hear that One of the trio would die I heard one of the main characters which frankly could mean a few people.

Some of them being any of the Weasleys they are pretty big parts of the books, Lupin, Tonks, Snape, Draco, Voldemort(who I personally think will die) that is just a few of the people who could die.

Or even Ginny that would really send Harry over the edge so there is your Mentally Insane ending.

That is my opinion and I am sticking to it For now anyway! LOL

I'm sure Harry will die in the 7th book because Jk Rowling most likely wouldnt want harry to live on any longer because people might copyright her work. Also, how many people think harrys a Horcrux? i do. i mean i think he is becasue of the scar and becasue some of voldemorts powers was put into him. ive got more sorta proof, lol.

Unfortunately I also think that Harry will be killed off. I do not think that He is a horocrux. I don't think that people are allowed to be...I'm sure there are threads on the site about this. But I do think that JKR will kill off Harry, because she is very against the idea of leaving it possible for someone else to write about him at a later date.

Im still sticking to my mental Harry theory . . . and it's meant to be two main characters that get killed off and yadda yadda, though I personally think a lot more main characters should die. :voldie: But that's just me ^_^

I say Harry wont die because JK might want to write about him later on after a few years go by. and why end a series with that happening. I mean reallly All the series i have read none of the main characters die. remember this is susposed to be meant for kids not all adults. I have never read a kids series where the maine character dies unless its part of the plan and he comes back later on. SO no I dont think Harry will Die.

Yeah but for a kid's series, she sure is fond of killing of much loved characters... She really doesn't seem to have any qualms about that. She has also publically announced that Book 7 is to the last and final Harry Potter book that she will ever be making. She also said that she understands why an author would kill of the main charcter of a series, therefore making it impossible for someone else to try to continue with the series at a later date. If you ask me, all of that adds up to Harry having a very very real chance of dying in book 7. :cry:

However Dream by killing off Harry in the books she is making it impossible for people to write fan fic about him after year seven especially those who have read the whole series after book seven comes out. Besides I know authors who finish a series and bring back the main character in another series. SHe might do that If she continues to write about another young wizard She might also leave you in suspense i know authors who have done that left the main character with a hard choice to make. SOme tv shows do the same. besides Harry Potter is already copywrited by her publishing company and her so n o one can use it unless they buy the copyright.

I don't see JKR doing that. She seems to have a pretty clear plan of what she wants to do in terms of writting in the future, and I don't see her bringing back Harry's world. Just don't think it's her style, she's too imaginative for that.
Thought I do hope that harry doesn't die, i think it's aperfect ending. Oddly enough. It proves that the series IS NOT a childern's series, but gets darker and more adult as it goes... and JKR did want people to recognize that the later books are not appropriate for children.

I say J.K rowling will kill Harry off because she sais that she is becoming to old and that she is tired but pleased to rite these story's but its coming to a retirement for her but things can change and she can continue with the story's

Has she published anything other than the Harry Potter series? She's already gonna retire? I just thought she was gonna stop with the children's books. Then again, she's certainly made enough money off HP to retire....

The Harry Potter books are the only ones she has done and she has said that she plans to write actualy childrens books after Harry Potter . . . so yeah. :yes:

Oh so she's going to go to only wiritng children's books? Well that's cool, because she's really good at it. (Eg... Book#1-3) Maybe she won't be killing off beloved characters in those... :(
