Title: Class Frequently Asked Questions

Professor Rogue - April 6, 2006 04:58 AM (GMT)
Here are the common class questions I've been asked. Please read this before asking a quesiton, it may be already answered here. ;)

QUOTE
Do I have to take classes?

Yes, all witches and wizards must go through some type of magical education. Each class should have a sign up list in which the professor has outlined the required items for the class. At the end of term, there will be junior jobs available for students during break. You will be able to become a Junior Auror, Hit-Wizard, etc. If you do not take the required classes, you will not be able to hold the job. I encourage you to take as many classes as possible.

QUOTE
What are the required classes?

REQUIRED CLASSES: All must take
* Defense Against the Dark Arts
* Chamrs
* Potions

ELECTIVES: Optional courses
* Care of Magical Creatures
* Transfigurations

QUOTE
Why aren't there more classes?

We realize that member have real lives as well and instead of burdening everyone with 15 different classes, a few have been carefully selected. Each term we will add more to the class roster in the interest of the students. So if you don't see a class that you like, it might show up next term.

QUOTE
I don't have any money to buy books!

Every first year has Necessites Pack meaning that you have $150 to buy books, robes, etc. You can

QUOTE
Do Staff members/Professors have to take classes?

Yes, as a way of supporting each other they should take other classes. Occassionally, a staff members real life schedule might be terribly hectic, in this case, you should contact me to disscuss this.

QUOTE
Do I have to make up homework that I missed since I just joined?

Every teacher has their own system pertaining to this, in which case you should really talk with your professor about this. The answer to this should probably be in the Class Guidelines. My policy is that it isn't expected of you to make up homework, but if you do, they will award you house points.

QUOTE
What do student's get for participating in classes?

Most professors award House Points, that is, your house will enter in a chance to beat other houses to win the House Cup at the end of each term.

QUOTE
If a teacher isn't active, what can I do?

Tell me immediatly. It might be best if the teacher has a Teacher's Assistant, or it might be a dry spell that they are having. If the teacher is inactive for awhile, feel free to PM me.

QUOTE
How can I become a Professor?

Check the Student Positions thread to see what is available. At this time, most of the classes have been filled but be on the look out for next term.

If there are any additional questions, please to contact me. :wizard:

Sorry I wasn't specific. I should have said via PM, but it's okay. For your class, I'm not sure what specifically you do since you and Danial have discussed this. Like, how involved are you in setting the assignments up? I'd say that you still take the class. You might not do as much of the homework (it depends if you and the professor go over the answers and such. If you know the answers, there's really no point in you doing the homework). But I still want you to post in the class, participatig in it as much as you can.

Well,Danial said that i can help run a class from time-to-time...If i have ideas about lessons i must let him know.
I post in the class everyday,read the other posts by other members and ive told them that if they have questions,they must ask me.
Thats what im doing.
