Diagon Alley: When in need of school supplies, a new friendly pet or maybe something a little more . . . sinister, just drop into Diagon Alley. Though don't worry if you are a new student have not even a sickle, there will be a pack of goodies for you in the next owl post. NOTE: This is a role playing forum. Please make sure that you post in character. Also make sure to read the Howlers before purchasing anything!

Of coarse there is more places to discover and explore but we don't want to ruin the fun, so just have a look around and eventually you wont even realize you jumping that trick step.

If you are still lost or confused about something just send an owl to either Professor Rogue, our headmaster, or your head of house.

Role Playing. When you 'pretend' to be another character.

Check out the RPG Bootcamp thread to learn more about it and how to do it.

This newbie guide is soooo helpful! i would be lost without it! Thanks!!!

Meridae - May 15, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
I would like to take this moment to say, DO NOT set a wand or broom to your profile until AFTER you've been sorted and AFTER you've boughten your wand from Ollivander's. No one else should have the need to have a broom unless they're on the Quidditch team, and after you purchase your broom from the shop, THEN you can set it to your profile.

Why can't everyone I know be this helpful?!
It's not fair.
>:(

doratheauror - September 13, 2007 06:33 PM (GMT)
Do you have to be sorted to get the necessities pack or should it show up automatically because if so I haven't received it yet :(

REMY-SALINAS - September 13, 2007 07:14 PM (GMT)
you now have the necessitites package. enjoy ;)

Edana - December 8, 2007 05:27 PM (GMT)
hello, i am new here. This guide has been very helpful. thank you. :)

dreamdancer7699 - December 8, 2007 05:52 PM (GMT)
:) Glad you thought so!

merlins_pants - February 7, 2008 05:47 AM (GMT)
This is really helpful! I haven't recieved my pack either though...when does it come? Sorry I'm so impatient, I just can't wait to get started!!

dreamdancer7699 - February 7, 2008 05:54 AM (GMT)
You now have it! :) You got it as soon as you were sorted. You'll see it showing in your money section under your avatar. Go ahead and go to Gringotts in Diagon Alley and read the howler there on Bank Vaults and start your vault. Feel free to look at a couple of examples as well if don't understand it completely. Some great examples are mine, ladeeknight, doratheauror, Remy Salinas, Emma Potter and will's gurl. If you have any questions about it after that, feel free to send me an OWL and I'll be happy to explain.

merlins_pants - February 7, 2008 06:49 PM (GMT)
Yay!! Thanks Dreamy!

red_phoenix - March 21, 2008 03:52 PM (GMT)
How do you claim something?

Sardine - March 21, 2008 06:40 PM (GMT)
If you scroll down the home page to Hogwarts Cafe, click on it, then look for a thread called Harry Potter claims. Go to the first page of that thread and see what's been claimed. If whatever you want hasn't been claimed, post a reply asking to claim that item.

Here's the link for the claims thread (just to make it easier for you) :) :
http://z3.invisionfree.com/leakycauldron/i...topic=1807&st=0

If you have any more questions, feel free to ask :D

red_phoenix - March 21, 2008 09:00 PM (GMT)
Thanks I found it!!! But when do they approve it? :loveharry:

REMY-SALINAS - March 21, 2008 09:11 PM (GMT)
as soon as either dream or rouge have a chance to look at your claim and see if its acceptable.

RemusBlack - March 24, 2008 07:27 PM (GMT)
Uhmm, I'm just wondering why the Wand wood is so limited?
There are a lot missing.

Sorry to be a pain.

dreamdancer7699 - March 25, 2008 02:27 AM (GMT)
If you would like a wand made out of something else, you may ask the shopkeeper for a special order. Just be prepared to pay more for it. :)

Sardine - March 25, 2008 10:03 AM (GMT)
A lot of the wands aren't listed because of a lack of pictures. I ordered a wand that wasn't on the list here, but you can order. Sometimes it does cost a bit more. The only disadvantage of ordering a wand that isn't on the list, is that it's not listed in the profile menu, so you can't put it on your profile.

katie - April 20, 2008 08:11 AM (GMT)
Thanks so much for the newbie guide it sooo helpful!

Sardine - April 27, 2008 01:15 PM (GMT)
That's why it's there :)
